There are a lot of emeralds coming from Ethiopia and I had a chance to examine a parcel of emerald crystals from this locality. The first thing I noticed was the biotite schist which is very similar to the emeralds from Laghman, Afghanistan. Both have lightly saturated color with many of them having colorless or very light green core. Most of the emeralds coming from Laghman however are big chunks of rough having partial crystallization and only a few can be found in complete prismatic crystal shape. This is a 650 grams parcel and every piece is having a nice crystal shape.
