Be a Muhammad. Be a Khadijah.
I often see/hear people expressing the want for more women like Khadijah (ra) in our society. This is definitely something to aspire to… A strong woman who embodies loyalty, respect, purity, one who others can turn to for support… A true muslimah. Additionally, we are told this is the sort of woman men look for to marry. Yet, how often do these same men do their utmost to embody the traits of Muhammad (SAW)? A noble man, honest, pious, kind, loving, the best of creation… Do you actively try to be this? Not only for the public, but within your home and personal relationships as well? The fact is, sometimes a woman also has moments in which she needs to say “zamilooni, dathirooni”, and a man like our beloved Prophet (SAW) was repeatedly able to, amongst other things, support his wives emotionally and spiritually, as they did for him. Be a Muhammad in order to gain a Khadijah. May Allah grant them peace and blessings. *Although seemingly aimed at men, this in no way exempts women from supporting their husbands and actively working at adopting qualities of the Mother of the Believers, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (ra). A marriage is the creation of the greatest team, thus respect, loyalty and support should exist between spouses; emotionally, spiritually, physically, financially, etc.
