Your Resident Fashion Blogger Reports: The Japan Trip, After Math…
Darlings. I know. I KNOW. This was supposed to go up the last day of June and instead I disappeared for a month like I, too, was mysteriously funded by a man nobody has ever met. But a fashion crime spree of this magnitude does not deserve to be rushed, and frankly? Neither do I. So light some incense, bow to whatever deity got us a free month in Japan, and let's finally talk about what everyone wore while spending a stranger's money on a different continent.
ZANE CONTI — Denim jacket half-off-the-shoulder, shirt unbuttoned to a scandalous degree, and an attitude that says "I didn't read the itinerary." The styling is effortless in the way that takes exactly forty-five minutes to achieve. Gold watch, gold buckle, brooding stare into the middle distance — he's not dressed for Japan, he's dressed for a magazine spread titled "Man, Unbothered." Rating: 8/10 ✨ @zanexconti
DECLAN MITCHELL — A linen shirt so open it should require its own visa, pleated trousers doing their best impression of "I woke up like this," and a wine glass he's been nursing since we landed. The tan-on-white palette is a genuinely good instinct. The chest, however, was not on the packing list. Rating: 6.5/10 ✨ @declanxmitchell
TYLER DUPONT — Sage satin, one dangerously placed lace cutout, a slit that's basically a second outfit on its own — she understood the assignment and then wrote her own extra credit. The color reads editorial, the fit is precise, the confidence is not up for debate. Rating: 9.5/10 ✨ @tylerxdupont
LOGAN SLATER — A crisp white shirtdress, cinched at the waist like she's the only one who remembered this was supposed to be elegant. Clean lines, no fuss, effortlessly correct. It's giving "I have never once been late to anything in my life," which, respectfully, some of us needed the lesson. Rating: 8.5/10 ✨ @loganxslater
KENNEDY SIMPSON — White eyelet mini, studded straps, silver heels sharp enough to file a complaint with. She read "dress code" and decided to overachieve, and I will not be taking questions about it. The pale blue clutch is an unnecessary flourish that I am, annoyingly, obsessed with. Rating: 9/10 ✨ @kennedysimpson
ZION ROSSINI — An argyle cardigan that belongs in a much cozier decade, paired with trousers wide enough to house a small parade. It's giving "vintage professor who moonlights as a heartthrob," which shouldn't work, and yet the jewelry stacked on top somehow pulls it together. Rating: 7/10 ✨@zionrossini
ELIAS REN — Leather bomber, all-white everything underneath, rings on every finger like he's compensating for something or just likes the sound they make. It's a look, it's a mood, it's giving main character in a music video that has no plot. I respect the commitment. Rating: 8/10 ✨ @eliasren
DORIAN WEST — Black shirt, unbuttoned like the humidity personally offended him, layered necklaces doing the heavy lifting. Olive cargo pants against all that black is an odd little swerve, but the smile sells it. Barely. Rating: 6/10 ✨ @xdorianwestx
RIVER CALDWELL — A tie-dye cardigan, a henley, Converse that have clearly seen things. He looks like he wandered in from a decade he wasn't born in, which, fine, given the circumstances, tracks. Comfortable, unbothered, criminally under-dressed for an international incident. Rating: 5.5/10 ✨ @rivercaldwell
VERONICA HALE — Black, draped, strapless, a slit that means business. This is a woman who dressed for a blackout and got cherry blossoms instead, and somehow still looked like she planned it. Effortless in the way that makes the rest of us suspicious. Rating: 9/10 ✨ @veronicahale
ELENA DAWSON — Black velvet cami, a red floral kimono she's clearly stolen from someone's grandmother's closet in the best way, double space buns holding on for dear life. It's chaotic, it's a lot, it's somehow completely her. I can't look away and I resent that. Rating: 8/10 ✨ @elenaxdawson
EMERSYN MICHAELS — Dusty rose satin, cowl neck, a slit doing exactly what it was engineered to do. Simple, sultry, expensive-looking without trying too hard — the kind of dress that photographs itself. Rating: 9/10 ✨ @tfemersyn
Sixteen guests promised, twelve delivered, and a month of radio silence that I refuse to apologize for. You know you love me.
