Years of longing and pining and each touch is like a moment made worth it. Darcy’s hand grips that stupid golden sash that ornaments his hips (she loves it, she fucking loves the dumb thing) and tugs him close with it, breathes in the heat of his body pressed against hers as she leans into him, minimizing the distance in height with all of her might, on the tippiest tips of her toes.

Darcy looks up to Danny, one hand wrapped around his arm, the other holding chunks of obsidian, glimmering almost threateningly in the singular light of the torch.

She knows it was a pointless, useless question- Orson Randall was the only person, alive or dead, who knew the location of the thinga-majig that could save them all.

So when the dead rise, Darcy holds tight to Danny, letting the heat of his alive skin anchor her to the world of the living - if he could sacrifice, so could she.
