Good afternoon, folks. We wanted to address some concerns and talk about our next steps as a group, because we have reached a breaking point and need to reconsider our approach going forward.
Due to privacy concerns, we will be transitioning fully to Discord. This is something that our group did in the past and while we were excited to try tumblr again, we have unfortunately found ourselves in a position where privacy has been compromised and certain members are being harassed and stalked.
Going forward, we will not be doing any dash interactions. It will all be through Discord which means joining the Discord is MANDATORY. This is also going to aid in our new vetting process for prospective members. We will be much more rigorous with acceptances going forward to protect the privacy and sanctity of all of our members to write in a safe, drama and stress free environment. At this time, we are not invite only/private, but we may consider this in the future if our newly implemented system does not deal with the issues we have been facing.
We understand that Discord is not for everyone. If you do not want to make this transition with us, please let us know, but everyone who is currently part of our group is welcome to tag along with us if you are not already part of the Discord. Just let us know if you need a link!
While we will no longer be interacting on the dash, we still plan to maintain our main account and accept applications through tumblr. Once you are accepted, you will be required to join the Discord within 24 hours of your acceptance. We will be making changes to our rules and guidelines to reflect this transition today.

Admin Si here. I wanted to pop on and give you an update about the group. Unfortunately, due to privacy concerns once again, we have made the decision to move back to Discord indefinitely. When we decided to make the transition back to Tumblr, we realized we were taking a leap of faith. We wanted to give it a try but it isn't the right fit in terms of our members' safety. This weekend and into next week, we are going to be working hard to get everything squared away so that we can have a functioning group by October 1, fully on Discord.
We will still be making major changes to the format of our group in terms of housing, locations, etc. We are still accepting feedback for what you all would like to see in the group going forward as well.
Admin applications will remain open until 9/30, as noted previously. The responsibilities we originally outlined in our first post about the admin application will change slightly to fit a Discord based format, but otherwise, it is not changing.
I know that it is an adjustment and can be frustrating to have to switch back when we just made the transition to Tumblr. We just want everyone to feel safe and the only effective way we've found to do that is by keeping things Discord exclusive. Please keep an eye out for any additional notices here and on Discord as we work to make sure everything is ready for y'all by 10/1.
Hi, everyone! We want to jump on here and give you a quick update about the future of Zephyr Bay and what you can expect in the coming weeks. Starting immediately, the entire group will be on a formal semi-hiatus as we work to restructure the group. This means that until we choose new admin(s) and finish tweaking some rules and systems we currently have in place, there will be no formal activity checks. That being said, we still encourage you all to be active when you can, and we will still be accepting applications as they come in. While this is not an ideal circumstance for our group or our members, we want to use this period of change for us as an opportunity to grow.
We have some ideas about how we can make Zephyr Bay the best version of itself, but we have and always will value feedback from our members and the community as a whole. We have a fairly long list of things we're going to be tackling, including some rule changes, the housing system, etc. but if you do have any feedback for us, please let us know! You can submit feedback via the ask box or in IMs, whatever you prefer. We just ask that constructive feedback is given in a kind and effective way.
Good afternoon, everyone, and happy almost Friday! We have a bittersweet announcement to share with you all and we'd like to share our plan of how we proceed from here.
We say goodbye to Tay, one of our long time admin and friends, as she starts a new journey in her life. We wish Tay nothing but the best and hope that she can focus on important real life things in the coming months!
This means that we are down an admin. Operations may seem slower than usual for a while until we find a new admin. Ideally, we would like to find two admins to help us balance the task load but we are seeking a minimum of one. If you are interested in becoming an admin for the group, read on. There are some criteria we will be outlining for our future prospective admin as well as an application for interested parties.
Admin criteria
Must have the time to dedicate to admin duties as well as IC interactions. We do not have a particular requirement as far as what times you need to be available, but it would be helpful to have someone from MST, PST, GMT or another timezone outside of EST and CST.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who enjoys and is proficient at making graphics and handling theme updates. This is also not a requirement but would definitely help us out the most in terms of re-delegating our current task load to new admin(s).
You must be communicative with both other admin and members. We take communication very seriously and want someone who can communicate their personal needs, ideas, feedback, etc. to us. This means we require that you have Discord for all admin communication purposes.
You should feel confident with the general operation of both tumblr and Discord as roleplaying platforms. You will be responsible for helping with promo posts, follows/unfollows, application acceptances, monitoring the main and responding to asks/IMs, etc.
Previous admin experience is not required.
You do not need to be a current member of our group, but you will need to apply and be accepted if you are accepted as an admin. We do not allow museless admin.
Our only real solid requirement for our prospective admin is that you are non-judgmental, open-minded, caring, and compassionate. The safety of our members and our group as a whole has been our top priority since day one. We are seeking kind, empathetic, fair people to join us. We try our best to strike a balance between being fair and setting appropriate guidelines and rules into place. Be open to feedback from members (including what might feel like criticism) and growing in your approach to admin work.

Hi everyone! Please make sure that if you aren't part of the OOC blog and would like to be that you send us a message so we can get a link to you. We know we have been using Discord for plot calls and other OOC interactions, but with this transition, we are expecting that most folks will use the OOC blog for plot calls.

We're back, baby! After some talks amongst the admin team and a unanimous vote from our current members, we are going to be coming back to Tumblr for most of our interactions. We will still maintain our Discord server and offer opportunities there for activity as well, but we felt it was time to take this step. With that being said, you all can expect some major changes in the next few days. Our admin team is going to be overhauling the main and getting things prepared for dash interactions once again.
We do want to take this time to address privacy. That has been a major concern for us in the past and we will continue to uphold our privacy standards on Tumblr to make sure our members are feeling comfortable and safe in this space. We will still be vetting applications from prospective members rigorously. We also will be IP blocking any hateful anonymous messages going forward.

You will find in our rules that we will conduct activity checks no less than 5 days and no more than 9 days after the last posted check.
