1. right answer/wrong way there (saw a dog but like. the wrong dog. task failed successfully)

(normal pic/ one i saw/ one i was supposed to see) lmao made me giggle

2. im learning too much playing this. i stg every other line of dialogue is one of these freaks infodumping the most obscure shit. *hexadecimal this* *carbon dioxide that* nerds. all of you. except junpei who is player perspective and therefore a dumbass

3. tangentially related. between the random infodumping and June's Everything i feel like im back in hs again lmao

4. the little character animations keep spooking me bc i never expect them but theyre cute af <3

5. santa swearing always catches me off guard like "holy shit he's allowed to say that????" nice honestly i like that they do

6. gameplay is very satisfying i love the little yellow outlines when you tap things

7. kitchen segment was painful im starting to feel very stupid playing this

FUCK this room i hate this room i got out my ipad and started taking notes like i was back in university to figure this shit out. mfing using my apple pencil like a ds stylus going back and forth between the two. bruh.

9. loving the music. i dont like looking up osts before im done with a game to avoid potential spoilers so sometimes i just leave my ds open during an escape sequence for a bit to vibe while i do other stuff for a bit

10. sometimes i enjoy playing visual novels while i eat. this is. not one of those games

14. going back to that fuckass room (8). like every puzzle ive done keeps yelling at me when i back out to check the files/an item bc i either immediately forgot or confused the order or put it in wrong or smth someone yells at me and they're all like "ohh no junpei u dumb fuck u mean u haven't figured it out yet??? wow ur so stupid (but here's a hint anyways)" (like i got it guys leave me aloooone im just bad at inputting things) and NOTHING in that one room. what the fuck im out here fighting for my life on a puzzle that honestly rlly obvious in retrospect but in the moment! leaving me out high and dry ffs

18. i really enjoy the way this game writes. the bottom screen is very effectively used, and it more often than not will describe scenes like a novel does. i feel like a lot of visual novels fall prey to "draw/animate if we have the budget but otherwise only imply". having the extra spot for non dialogue non narration writing really sells the mental image. they know whats happening and they want you to know. its really cool

yknow during my legendary liveblog of the zero escape trilogy especially 999 beloved mutual adam deemed me "the noticer" which is a badge i wear with much pride <3 unrelated but i just now realized that you find snake in the coffin...... like you find the guy that you think died.... in the coffin......... dead guy in the coffin thats why hes in a coffin bc he "died" i promise i was paying attention--

opened my ds 999 locked and loaded life is beautiful i forgot i saved at the start of door 7 best room in the game. my ship of theseus clover <3

i really did enjoy both vlr and ztd but most of that came from the characters who i largely enjoyed in spite of the games themselves instead of because of them. and at some point during ztd i was so frustrated that i actually began to doubt if my experience with 999 was as good as i thought it was. if the game was as good as i remembered it being. well guess who just replayed safe end and yes it actually is that good its like a breath of stale nevada air and im sighing dreamily
