☺️ Appreciation + 💍Jewelry
Grey & Zea @redaresss
They are such good adventurers. I really enjoyed writing them. Cant wait for more of them!
“Rook!” Grey waved, spotting their new found friend coming into the hilt, “Thanks for coming, we could use the extra help.” He had sent a letter to rook about the growing numbers of Antaam in the surrounding area. Grey couldn’t do it on his own and the lords were spread out in different areas trying to maintain Rivain. But lucky him, he knew a certain person who was good with a sword.
“I need something other than easy fodder to hit.” Zea raised a brow, using Grey's prior words against him. “Seems like lords are moving out, are the numbers that grand?”
“And growing. Everyone’s off to a different post, Mine is along the coast though the less people I need to call upon the better, not only is there Antaam but this.” Grey grinned holding up a map
“And that is?” Zea rested their hand on the hilt of their sword
“This is a treasure mapI think you could indulge in a bit of a hunt.” Grey opened the map to show Zea
“Antaam and Treasure, full of surprises.” Zea skimmed over the map, treasure hunting wasn’t their thing but grey seemed confident that this would be fun. An interesting adventure with their new company.
“It’ll pay for your time here, plus it’ll just be us two. We are taking care of a smaller scale area. Antaam and deepstalkers around the area. So it shouldn’t be too bad.”
“I don’t do this to get paid.”
“If not for gold, do it for glory.”
“That’s more your thing, isn’t it?”
Grey let out a chuckle, “Very true, ready to go?”
“For gold and glory.” She imitated greys tone, walking alongside him as he led on, letting out a deep laugh as she did.
——
Grey was always confident in his step, following his map to perfection. He pointed out little things, like how the rocks were shaped and would either praise or criticize the work on the map. He would occasionally pocket some things he found along the way. Like the smoother rocks or fine pieces of wood he could probably carve later.
“What is the treasure we are after anyways?” Zea raised a brow at grey watching him pocket the pebble.
“It kind of is a mystery to the both of us. If I knew, it wouldn't be a treasure.”
“How do you know you won’t waste your time then? If the treasure is worthless?”
“Nothings worthless, there’s always something you can do with it.” Grey waved her off, speaking in a matter of fact manner.
They climbed up the slopes of Rivain revealing a Antaam Marker, “Safe to say we are going in the right direction.” He grinned, “Ready to find your fodder to hit?”
“Itching for some practice.” Zea responded, grabbing their sword that was tucked at their side and grey following suit. As they went further up the beach they found a fort that no doubt had the Antaam inside, Zea and Grey moving in tandem to sneak inside from a broken wall in the fort they slipped in to ambush the Antaam before spotting them.
The Antaam weren’t as bad, just as grey had said before it was a small horde of them. Grey wiped his forehead after the fight and looked to Zea, “Rook, this is the place by the way.”
“Your treasure? It’s a little underwhelming.” She looked around the fort which besides the Antaam equipment didn’t seem like much.
Grey went to a wall and pushed a certain brick to open a hidden door with a grey warden marker on it. “see? Treasure.”
It didn’t take long for Grey to lockpick the door and open up the door. There were good amount of supplies and metals that would go for a bit in the market. Swords and shields as well as chest full of treasures. Grey scavenged the chest full himself, pulling out a red broach with a beautifully engraved boarder. He lifted it up to get a good view of the gem.
“That looked like a good find.” Zea approached grey taking a look at the gem herself.
“It is, and I think it reminds me of a certain someone.” He lowered the gem then took Zea’s hand dropping it in her palm.
“Wait- grey this is your treasure.”
“It’s our treasure, we walked the same path and fought the same people to get it. Please have it, Rook.” He grinned
“I really didn’t expect this from you. Do I hug you or-?” Zea looked down at the gem in her palm then back to grey.
Grey, of course, wouldn’t give up a hug so he opened his arms.
That almost made Zea laugh but gave grey a hug, appreciating the moment between them. “Thanks grey, this was fun.”
“And you doubted the treasure.” Grey chuckled, then stepped back, “Alright time to head back.”
“Oh? Well the practice was very short lived, I hardly think that was enough.”
Grey raised a brow, “Rook, If you wanted to spar you could just ask.”
They walked back together to the hilt with all their new prizes in hand. There was more than enough treasure for the both of them. But one in particular they both wouldn’t forget.
Nothing just him 🥰
