Current brainrot: Dragon Age and my Rook OC Lydia Ingellvar. This blog should be considered as 18+.
I do art, sometimes write, play tag games, reblog what I like, generally indulge in this cosy corner of fandom.
Want to create art, fics or other things inspired by my work, headcanons, characters? Be my guest, as long as it's your work, not some AI slop, just please tag me and share it with me <3
My DMs and asks are always open!
Want to play tag? Great, don't hesitate and include me (I will say if I want out). My tag list can be found HERE.
Just to be clear: I'm nice as long as everyone else is nice. Don't be mean, don't steal, generally don't be an ass and we're fine.
My main focus now is on my Rook, Lydia Ingellvar: human, she/her | Mourn Watcher | Mage | Death Caller
I moved things about her to a separate post.

An Aydenne & Zalan fic set after the events of Black Hellebore and before Three of Crows
Inspired by kiss week day 6: Mourning but incredibly late so for funsies instead
Snippet below and Read the whole thing on AO3 HERE
Aydenne belongs to @genjyoandgojyoandhakkai

But he looked like the walking undead now. Zalan mulled over his choices. He'd been forced away several times now for contracts and each time he'd come back Aydenne looked worse. He had to do something before going out again. And he didn't think trying to pull him up the mountainside for a quiet night with or without the other de Riva's would be enough this time.
Sliding off his spot in the window he walked around to the side of the desk, getting into Aydenne's space. "Ayde, you need to talk about… this." He gestured to the desk and the papers and the stale piece of bread left forgotten on the table since this morning.
"Talk about what? It's fine, Zalan." Aydenne smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes, it barely even looked like a passable smile. A ghost of an emotion to try and get Zalan to leave him alone. The second he looked away, and Aydenne did try to look away immediately, his face fell into the empty shell it had been for weeks.
Amara and Lucanis, nicknames for each others please!
Lucanis is one of the few who will switch between Rook and Amara - most other people know her as one or the other. Rook informally/amongst friends, Amara if it is someone she deals with in a formal capacity. Lucanis uses both with Amara being the more intimate of the two. Love, mi amor, and other Antivan terms of endearment are also common.
Amara will teasingly call Lucanis by some combination of his formal titles (Master First Talon, Lord Dellamorte, Master Assassin, etc) My dear is also common.
Originally inspired by kiss week day 7s prompt: sneaky but late because I can
A Lilya x Zalan piece set in the Healer Au with Zalan’s sister Ilene is rook and Zalan finds himself in love with a healer in the alienage who’s kids are her whole life (the masterpost)
~700 words below the cut
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
The Antaam raids were keeping Lilya busy with her little clinic near the city's alienage. She was always busy with the sick and scared civilians coming to her before curfew with very little coin to pay if any.
Zalan worried. He always did about her and the kids. But Lilya was finally letting him help more, allowing him to bring her supplies for her healing and extra food for both her and her patients.
He was carrying a basket from the market of such supplies when Miri came running out of the house and threw herself at the Crow. Catching the little girl without dropping the basket would have impressed Heir and he somehow managed it, shifting the basket to his hip so he could hold Miri against his chest,
"Are you here to fight off the assassin coming to your door?" He asked her and she laughed, hugging his neck,
"No silly I'm hunting for patients. Momma said I needed to find some."
"You were, were you?" Zalan carried her to into the house, "Did you need them for anything in particular?"
Lilya looked up from bandaging a burn on a busy merchant's arm and the smile she offered him, although quick, was soft and it warmth blossomed in his chest at the sight.
"I told her I didn't want to wait for dinner." Miri continued pouting. She looked the most like her mother when she pouted and it made Zalan smile and try not to chuckle at her.
"Ah so she wanted you to have patience." He set her down on a kitchen chair and set the basket on the table.
"But it made me want to play doctor. Will you be my patient? Adan won't play with me." She was crossing her arms and sat down on the table giving him big sad eyes.
Zalan pretended to hum in thought mulling it over. "Yes." Her face lit up but he quickly continued, "But we have to put these away first." And he gestured go the basket .
Miri looked disappointed, scrunching her face up but she nodded and did her part in handing him the things out of the basket to put away one at a time.
When he got to some of the last of the food items he pulled an apple from the sack and sliced it, giving Miri a piece to eat, "Let's see if Momma has time for a break."
"And if there's room for doctor Miri." She reminded him with her arms out in the air expecting to be picked up again. Compromising Zalan let her hop onto his back and wandered into the clinic section of the home,
Lilya watched them approach, taking the sliced apple and raised a brow,
"You do need a break." He told her, leaning in for a kiss. Miri yanked on the hood of his Crow armor. Hard. Jerking him to the side,
"No kissing! You might be sick I need to examine you first." She informed him as Lilya scolded her daughter at the same time,
"Miri! That wasn't nice."
"But he promised to be my patient. I need to check him out first." She protested.
Zalan set her down on the closest empty cot and turned to face her, "Alright then, let's make sure I'm not sick." He told her, mustering up his own patience, and letting her check him over, Lilya sighing and staying close by to make sure Miri behaved.
"What's the verdict?" He asked her after much humming, Lilya looking at her daughter with a stern expression.
"You have an inc- an incur- an… you're doomed. You have princess-itis." She declared, shaking her head. "The only fix is true love."
Zalan smiled, his eyes sliding to Lilya, "Then I think your mom can save me." He didn't look away from her bright green eyes, and she blushed but let Zalan wrap his hands around her waist to hold them both steady.
"Momma can you fix him?" Miri asked, all big doe eyes and mischievous smiles.
"I think I can." Lilya whispered, looking up at Zalan.
"Now kiss her!" Miri squealed
Zalan's smile brightened and he tugged Lilya closer, his fingers splayed over her waist, "You heard her, doctors orders." And pulled her in, her hands going to wrap around his neck as their lips met, giving her a proper kiss.
After all Lilya was curing him with true love's kiss.
sometimes it is fun and easy to go to bed because I make up scenarios in my head. other times it is difficult and not fun, because you see, I am making up scenarios in my head
Okay, so, I'm actually doing two today instead of one, because I will never get over how much this amuses me.
Because I, like many people, had to wonder, "why doesn't the Archon's Palace help defend the city against the dragon attack?"
And, of course, the obvious answer is that the Venatori take advantage of the distraction the dragon provides (courtesy of their newly risen gods) to take over the palace and keep it out of the fight, while preventing the Shadow Dragons from stopping them or the dragon.
But the funnier answer is right here in these two screenshots.
Because, you see, the rush to stop the dragon when saving Minrathous uses the same map area as the prologue, you just go to the left where the dragon arena is instead of to the right to the base of the statue of Our Lady of Victory. And when you run through during the dragon attack, the Archon's Palace isn't there. Its spot in the sky is just...empty.
I find that hilarious.
The Archon's palace didn't help out because it was off on holiday.
(Okay but seriously, why is it missing? Does the palace have steering controls? Is it actually capable of movement? If so, does this mean the Magisterium could theoretically fly it around Thedas? I have so many questions.)
Unless you were a tech at NASA back in the day, when one time some hydrogen a) escaped in a particular building, and b) caught on fire. This was extremely difficult because hydrogen does NOT burn on the visible spectrum humans evolved to see (and flee). Rather, it technically does, but it’s so pale that in practice, no one could see it. Additionally, pure hydrogen burns without smoke and with so little ambient heat that you can’t really sense it till you walk into it. So, per the lore, for a few days all the techs in that building just walked around brandishing brooms in front of them like lances. If your broom lit on fire, congrats! You have located more burning hydrogen! Do not proceed!
