There are now English subtitles for the episode of the French show Cherif, in which Antonio Fargas plays a hallucination of Huggy Bear that helps Cherif solve a case. The episode is full of fun Starsky & Hutch references, and there’s some great jokes where Huggy breaks the fourth wall.

And don’t be alarmed that the subtitles don’t show up until about 2 minutes in. Prior to that it’s “previously on..” clips and a short dream sequence.

Paul, as Michael Glaser, is an air mail pilot who is forced to land because of engine trouble. He is invited to stay with the Waltons until his plane is fixed.

There’s a new TV episode on the 70s queer media subfolder of the Zebra Docs.

It’s another episode of Police Woman, and while its queer content is better than the abysmal episode “Flowers of Evil”, this one (called “Trial by Prejudice”) is pretty bad, too. 

Originally aired in 1976, it’s about Pepper getting falsely accused of molestation when she arrests a young woman. Pepper’s former roommate Marlene could testify to help her case, but it would require Marlene to out herself, and Pepper would rather lose her job than out Marlene.

I dislike most stories involving false accusations of sexual assault, and this one is no exception. And it’s wild that Marlene’s testimony matters in a case that has nothing to do with her. But I do like the portrayal of Marlene, and Pepper’s willingness to sacrifice her job to protect Marlene’s privacy is nice.

There’s a new file in the Queer 70′s Media folder of Zebra Docs!

It’s the 1971 episode of Room 222, “What Is a Man?”  The summary I read was, “An all-male "Twelfth Night" prompts a boy to question his masculinity.”  Unfortunately it’s not quite as great as it sounds. More accurately, a boy is bullied after he performs a female part in “Twelfth Night”.  

This is the earliest episode in the folder so far, and it does have some nice moments. But overall I was disappointed by the muddled messages about both gender nonconformity and bullying.

Hall of Mirrors

I’ve finally got a working file of “Hall of Mirrors” -- the Streets of San Francisco episode that guest stars David Soul -- up on the Zebra Docs. I promise this one isn’t missing the last ten minutes!

There’s something new in Paul’s folder of the Zebra Docs! In The Waltons episode “The Air Mail Man”, PMG guest-stars as a pilot for the US Air Mail who makes an emergency landing in the Walton’s pasture, bringing with him excitement and secrets.

Paul, as Michael Glaser, plays Jason Kampacalas, one of the sons of a Greek patriarch who has been just released from San Quentin after 12 years. He must face serious family problems. 

A very young, thin and very cute Paul suffers beautifully throughout the episode but he also lets us enjoy his gorgeous smile and some chest hair mmmmmmm!
