Side to side? "They left the camp in flames behind them. Thor had a cut on his upper arm that burned annoyingly, and both of their collars were sadly still intact, but they were free. Thor was determined to get far from the path they've been taking and so they hurried across the rocky ground towards a smattering of mountains that loomed against what light was left in the sky. Beside him, Loki was panting and drenched in sweat. Now that the fight was done, Thor had to think back to Loki's request
Oh thank you! side to side
This part was pretty hand-wavey but indulgent at the same time, because in the previous part I establish that the magic draining collars really are a huge problem (I didn’t do too shabby guessing what Ragnarok would have up its sleeve btw!) and Thor has spent weeks in captivity and didn’t escape. But right then, Loki told him they needed to be gone like two hours ago, and Thor made it happen. I helped it along by the mentions of their handlers getting drunk.
I also enjoyed envisioning the planet, and reading this now, it’s obvious how much I was still in the headspace where Dark World was the main inspiration for any alien planets, because we know that Sakaar ended up very differently.
As for what Thor thought about Loki’s request, he just... didn’t know imo. Couldn’t have figured it out. He wasn’t too off worrying about Loki in the Jotnar skin being too hot anywhere where it’s warmer than freezing, that makes sense, right, and maybe he partly still thought that was the problem, and perhaps Loki was hallucinating thinking he needed to get away, thinking that it would be cooler out of captivity. But despite suspecting this illusion, he obliged so thats.. nice :D
