Little streamer au, Wilbur catches a minor cold and one day he's too tired to get out of bed, so Tommy decides to show off how epic he is and brings him headache medicine, manages to roll a water bottle to the room, turns the lights off and closes the curtains for him, etc.
Basically Tommy showing off his borrower skills to take care of his bother 💖

——————
Wilbur could barely open his eyes when Tommy’s sharp voice woke him up. The midday sun pored through the window to the side of his room. From outside the sounds of people and cars rushed by. The cold medicine he’d taken a few hours earlier still hadn’t worn off all the way, making his body feel like a lead weight. And even though he’d cocooned himself with all the blankets he could find, his skin still felt icy.
When Tommy called out to him again he tried to get up, but sleep still tugged at his limbs and forced him back down against the sheets. It was almost like he was glued to his mattress. He was so exhausted he felt like if he closed his eyes again he could sleep for hours. Maybe then he could ignore how sick he felt.
“Hello,” Tommy yelled again as he walked closer to Wilbur’s face, his feet leaving small indents in the mattress, “You alive in there?”
Wilbur groaned and tried to block his ears, but the tiny just got even closer, his attempts to wake him up unrelenting.
“I didn’t drag all this shit over for nothing big man, get the fuck up,” Tommy said as he tried to pry open Wilbur’s eyelids with his hands, “I’ve got medicine dumbass.”
Wilbur flinched away as tiny fingers prodded at him. He tried to shove his face back into his pillow, but before he could one of Tommy’s fingers landed square in his eye. The sharp pain was enough to make him get up; however, the urge to throw the tiny across the room grew as the boy laughed.
“You fucker,” Wilbur groaned as he rubbed his eye, “I’m sick let me rest.”
Tommy shrugged, “Yeah and I’ve got medicine for you. Now stop bitching and let me help you.”
Once Wilbur could open his eye again without it stinging he spared a look to the tiny on his sheets. Really, he thought Tommy had been joking about helping him through his cold. Tommy has argued that Wilbur always helped him, but Wilbur couldn’t see any way tommy could help him in a human-sized house. It wasn’t like Wilbur could help him grab things when he was stuck in bed, so as much as Tommy said he wanted to help, Wilbur didn’t expect much.
Yet to his surprise, laying next to Tommy on his wrinkled sheets, were a handful of pills and a bottle of water at least three times the tiny’s size.
“You gonna stare more or are you gonna take it?” Tommy laughed, shocking Wilbur out of his haze.
“What-” Wilbur’s brows tightened, “How the fuck did you get all this?”
Tommy leaned his arm against the water bottle and shrugged nonchalantly, as if the mere idea of him moving the bottle wasn’t insane to Wilbur.
“I don’t know big man, just dragged it out of the fridge and rolled it over,” Tommy tilted his head, “Not really a big deal.”
“But how the hell did you open the fridge?” Wilbur’s eyes widened as he leaned closer to the tiny, “And how’d you get the medicine out of the cabinet- how the fuck did you even reach that?”
Wilbur was barely aware of how close his face was to the tiny until Tommy laughed and spit landed right on his nose. He recoiled in disgust, but it only earned more laughter from the amused tiny.
“Just used some string. I tied it to a clip and threw it up to the cabinet. Then I just dragged all the shit down. Don’t tell me, is the Wilbur Soot impressed with me?” Tommy asked in a sing-song voice.
A nagging part of his brain told him this was probably nothing more than a cold-medicine influenced fever dream. That there was no way Tommy could do this, or want to do this, for him.
His body ached as he slowly pushed himself up onto his elbow. His muscles cried at the strain from staying in bed all day, but he forced himself to take the water and the medicine. Tommy watched proudly as he threw the pills in his mouth and gulped down as much water as he could. He hadn’t even realized how thirsty he had been until the bottle was completely empty and his body still ached for more.
The bottle crinkled as he put it back down next to Tommy before he let himself fall back against the sheets. Instantly he relaxed into the sheets, wanting to curl around himself like a child. The bustling sounds from outside his apartment became a haze in his mind as the new dose of cold medicine kicked in. He was about to fall back asleep when he heard a loud shout from Tommy.
He had been so comfortable he didn’t even realize he’d knocked the tiny over when he laid back down. Tommy grumbled in frustration from where he was pinned under Wilbur’s arm, but the human couldn’t help but smile in amusement. His grin only grew as he pressed down a bit more until Tommy was completely stuck between the sheets and the back of his arm.
“You asshole let me go,” Tommy hissed as he pounded at Wilbur’s skin, “I help you and this is what I get?”
Wilbur nodded lazily and reached forward with his other hand so he could wrap his fingers around the tiny. Tommy struggled for a second and tried to push the massive fingers away, but when Wilbur’s grip didn’t loosen, he relaxed and let Wilbur pick him up.
For about the a-millionth time Wilbur was awe struck by just how small Tommy looked between his fingers. Tommy was about the same size as his thumb, and he was dwarfed by his other fingers. Carefully, he pulled the tiny closer to his face and ran his thumb over his head. Even though Tommy tried to hold on to his angry demeanour, Wilbur didn’t miss how he leaned into the touch.
“See, you like it,” Wilbur laughed softly.
Immediately, Tommy’s attempts to escape increased as he tried to free himself from Wilbur’s fingers. However, his effort was useless since Wilbur just held him a bit tighter to keep him still.
“This is unfair,” Tommy pouted, with one last punch to Wilbur’s thumb.
Wilbur just hummed in response, the haze from the medicine taking over again. Carefully, he pulled the struggling tiny to his chest so that he could feel his small breaths against his skin. And even though Tommy kept fighting he could tell he didn’t actually mind by how he stopped prying at Wilbur’s fingers. Instead all he got were a few curses thrown his way before Tommy relaxed and let himself be held. Once the boy stopped his wiggling Wilbur curled himself around his cupped hands and pulled the sheets over so Tommy would be warm too.
“Thanks Tom,” Wilbur whispered sleepily.
He just barely heard a whispered response from Tommy before sleep took hold of his mind. With the warmth of his sheets and the haze from the medicine Tommy had brought him he was finally able to drift to sleep.
Little Streamer au Wilbur tries (and somehow succeeds??) In gently biting Tommy in return to show his affection. He just nibbles on his arm or something and Tommy almost cried when he realizes what the human is doing

Cw: mouthplay
Tommy laid back against Wilbur’s palm. The warmth from his skin and the gentle pressure from his fingers made it almost feel like one giant hug. Meanwhile, the tip of Wilbur’s thumb rested firmly on top of his head, sometimes moving in a slow circle like a massage.
It was hard being a tiny in a group of mostly human friends. There were a lot of things tommy couldn’t do because of his size, and it made life a lot harder, but this was one of the great things about being so small. He struggled to admit it for fear of looking weak, but he adored being held like that. He loved the constant warmth and comfort than came from the all-encompassing touch of a human. He loved how Wilbur’s fingers could perfectly wrap around his whole body, and he loved that no matter what happened he was safe in his hands.
It was perfect.
He couldn’t help himself as he snuggled his face further into the crease of Wilbur’s thumb. Underneath him the human’s pulse thumped contentedly like a drum. Everything about it was so nice and domesticate he couldn’t help himself. His mouth opened and before he could stop himself, his teeth closed around the human’s skin.
His instincts lit up with happiness at the small action, but the realization of what he did made him pull away. Luckily wilbur didn’t seem like he noticed (or if he did he didn’t care), but still Tommy was angry he had let it slip.
He’d been trying to hold back his less-human instincts, he really had. Most of his friends were humans and he didn’t want to weird them out any more than they probably already were.
Usually he could stop himself from biting or smelling his human friends, but it was harder with Wilbur. Something about how gentle he was with every touch and how he was always so kind to the tiny made it almost impossible for Tommy to stop himself. Wilbur was his best friend, and his instincts wanted to show that off.
After a few minutes when Tommy’s thoughts finally calmed back down he let himself relax back into Wilbur’s hand. The giant fingers squeezed around him like a hug, and Tommy had to resist the urge to bite his friend. He wasn’t entirely sure why he did it, but it was something about tiny biology. At least that’s what his mother had said.
“You alright?” Wilbur’s voice broke through Tommy’s thoughts.
Tommy shook his head eagerly and stared up at the human’s soft expression, “Yeah yeah I’m good.”
Wilbur tilted his head before nodding off and turning his attention back to the computer. This time he started to hum softly to some song playing in the background of the video. The vibrations pulsing through Tommy’s body with every hum along with the content smile on Wilbur’s face was his last straw.
When he was sure Wilbur wasn’t paying attention he turned back to the tip of Wilbur’s thumb and bit into it. It wasn’t enough to bleed or even cause any real pain, but it was all Tommy needed. The rush of serotonin in his head was almost enough to make him feel dizzy.
Logically he knew he needed to let go, he didn’t want Wilbur ti think he was weird, but he couldn’t bring himself to yet. He resisted his wants so often he just needed to let them out for once. Even as Wilbur’s humming stopped and the hand below him moved Tommy didn’t let go.
His mind only snapped out of its haze when he felt heat against his face. His eyes flew open and right in front of him was Wilbur’s open mouth.
His breath hitched out of instinct, but he didn’t move. Meanwhile, Wilbur seemed just frozen. After a few seconds, the hand underneath him squeezed around his chest in reassurance and then the warmth of Wilbur’s mouth was closer.
Tommy trusted him, he really did, but it didn’t stop himself from tensing you as teeth the size of his chest came into view. Part of him wanted to run away, but more of him wanted to know what Wilbur was doing. The human was always careful with him (sometimes too much so), so Tommy was more than a little curious about the human’s actions.
Wilbur breathed out over Tommy and the hot breath along with the smell of the ice cream theyd had earlier flooded Tommy’s senses. It was almost overwhelming how gigantic wil was compared to him. The human could do anything when wanted and Tommy wouldn’t be able to resist and yet he was exceedingly careful. Slowly, Wilbur shifted and opened his mouth wider until Tommys shoulder and arm were almost completely inside his mouth.
He hummed in curiosity, but Wilbur didn’t respond. The thumb against his back just started to rub against his back soothingly. Tommy stared at the gigantic teeth in awe, until slowly they started to close around his arm.
He knew he could pull away, but he wanted to see what would happen. The tips of Wilbur’s teeth dug into his skin, but it was just enough to make an indent. When his teeth were gently clamped around his arm Wilbur hummed again, this time the vibrations shook through Tommy’s whole body.
“What’s this big man?” Tommy laughed when Wilbur opened his mouth just to bite back down on his arm.
“Mm,” Wilbur mumbled, “You do it. Tinies show love that way. Wanted to do it back.”
Even though tommy couldn’t see Wilbur’s eyes from his position he could sense the goofy soft expression on his face. His heart swelled at how sweet the gesture was even if it was odd.
Tommy laughed as Wilbur started to grind his teeth against his arm, and this time with newfound confidence he bit down on Wilbur’s thumb. It was a strange way to show affection, but Tommy couldn’t be happier- even if it they looked ridiculous.
Unlike Mumza who was unaware of was going on, Tommy knew exactly what was happening when he woke up in a box.
So when Wilbur gets the box open Tommy is fetal, screaming and threatening to bite at every sudden move.
And I think we have plenty of 'villain' Wilbur au's out there, so what if he's genuinely trying to calm this feral child down but just keeps getting bit instead?

——————————
“Please I’m not going to-“
Wilbur jumped back and hissed in pain as the tiny’s teeth dug into his thumb again. A pinprick of blood already started to bubble up at the surface, matching the similar cuts strewn across the rest of his hand.
The tiny had shown up in a box only a couple minutes before and when he read the label he was shocked. A week before he’d received an email from the same company, promising free tinies, but he’d passed it off as some spam email… However, looking at the tiny freaking out in his kitchen, he really wished he had read the email closer.
“Fuck,” he winced, trying to keep his voice steady, “Please I’m not trying to hurt you I swear.”
The crazed-looking tiny didn’t seem to care though as he backed up into his box like a wild animal. Bruises covered his skin from being battered around in shipping and while Wilbur was getting awfully annoyed at being bitten he couldn’t get over how young he looked.
When the tiny lashed out again, Wilbur reached down to pin the kid under his finger, pressing down on his chest.
“Get off!” the kid screeched, “Leave me alone!”
“I’m trying to!” Wilbur pleaded, wincing as the kids teeth dug into his finger again, “Just calm down. Please!”
“You’re gonna- fuck,” the kid choked, his thrashing stoped as he realized he was stuck, “Please let me go fuck please. I cant die please.”
Wilbur grimaced at the sight of small tears forming in the kids eyes. He couldn’t even move without the kid flinching back and sobbing even harder.
God he was so young.
Slowly he released his finger from the boys chest and the kid went limp. If he couldn’t hear the choked sobs he would have almost thought he’d killed him.
“Look hey, hey,” he shushed, “I’m not going to hurt you. Look, I’m not touching you, you’re okay.”
Wilbur put his hands out in front of his face hoping to calm him down but the boys breathing just became more frantic.
“Go away,” he wrapped his arms around his head, “Please.”
After a few more minutes of the boy scrambling away whenever Wilbur so much as moved, he finally gave in. Slowly he backed away until he was more than an arms-length away from the box. Almost immediately he saw the boy crack his eyes open to see.
“Look you’re free,” Wilbur placated, “This is a misunderstanding- I don’t want to hurt you.”
This time when he slowly put his hands out in front of him the tiny kept his eyes open, trained on Wilbur’s hands. Wilbur could almost feel the weight of the boys eyes.
Within seconds the fear painted across the boys face morphed into anger, “Then why the fuck did you order me huh?”
“I didn’t” Wilbur waved his hands frantically, “This was all a mistake I swear. I didn’t even know you were being sent here.”
The boy scowled but didn’t argue any further.
“It was a prank or something,” Wilbur knelt down so he was at the teen’s level, earning a frightened whine from the boy, “I would never have ordered you. Frankly, I think it’s awful that anyone would.”
Wilbur studied the tiny as he rubbed his eyes against his sleeve. His breathing was slowly steadying but he still had the look of a crazed animal, ready to flee at any sign of danger. And now that the boy wasn’t trying to attack him he could finally see just how banged up he was- his arms were bruised and his clothes looked like they’d been thrown into a shredder.
The boy swallowed, “…Promise?”
If Wilbur hadn’t already been staring at the boy he wouldn’t have even know he’d said anything.
“I promise,” he whispered back.
The moment the words left his lips the teen seemed to relax against the cardboard, his head hung low against his chest. The sight made Wilbur’s heart ache. Part of him just wanted to scoop the tiny into his hands and keep him safe, but another part wanted to find the people who did this and tear them apart.
At the moment though he just had to focus on helping the boy. Everything else would come later.
“I’m Wilbur by the way,” he hummed as he grabbed a few crackers from the counter for the boy to eat.
When he placed them out in front of the teen the tiny immediately reached forward to grab them. He ate it like he hadn’t eaten in weeks, which Wilbur guessed could be true. Even though the cracker was almost half his size he finished it in only a few minutes.
“Thank you,” the tiny muttered quietly as he wiped the crumbs off himself, “Im Tommy…”
“Nice to meet you Tommy,” Wilbur smiled.
The tiny, Tommy, still looked nervous at the sight of Wilbur’s grin, but he no longer was trying to fight him which was some improvement. Wilbur just hoped Tommy would let him help, so he could ruin the lives of whoever thought selling tinies was a good idea.
The first time he bonks Tommy the Lil dude just plays dead and Wilbur panics

Wilbur bonks him with it and Tommy just collapses. At first, Wilbur thinks it’s hilarious and bonks him a couple more times for good measure. However, when Tommy is still face down on the counter after a few minutes he starts to panic. He pokes Tommy a couple times and still gets no response.
Now really panicking, he leans down to try to hear if Tommy’s breathing, but as soon as he gets close the tiny screams in his ear…He then bonks him again

“Tommy I need you to stay still okay you have to trust me.”
Wilbur tried to stay calm as he watched Tommy continue to struggle in the glass neck of a coke bottle. His hands held it down so that Tommy wouldn’t slip any further, but it was hard to focus with his heart thundering against his chest.
“Wil please help,” Tommy whined as he tried to pull himself up the glass edges.
“Stop moving!” Wilbur snapped as Tommy’s movements caused him to slip in even further “Stay calm it’s okay I’m going to fix it.”
Tommy stared up at him with wide scared eyes that made his stomach churn. He hated seeing the tiny so afraid of him even if it wasn’t his fault.
“Okay I’m going to get you out but you need to trust me and stay still,” he said sternly, watching for understanding on Tommy’s face. The tiny’s face scrunched up with fear, but Wilbur just tried to ignore it.
He knew what he had to do but the chance that he accidentally hurt tommy was high. As much as he hated the idea of bringing the boy any harm, he had no choice. Either tommy was stuck there or he got him out…even if it scared him in the process.
Slowly, to not scare tommy even more, Wilbur grabbed the bottle in his fist and brought it over to the sink. A sharp yell from the tiny dug into his heart as he started to tilt the bottle down. Almost immediately tommy started to struggle against the glass, trying to stay away from the drain below, but Wilbur’s hand was already under it as a safety net.
“I just need to get the coke out first okay,” Wilbur reassured, “You’re going to be wet for a second but you’ll be safe I promise.”
A visible shudder ran through Tommy’s body but he still turned to nod back at Wilbur. Then, trying to hide his own fear and nervousness, Wilbur quickly turned the bottle all the way over.
He cringed as Tommy’s body was crammed tighter into the bottle’s neck, but he needed to get the coke out. The image of Tommy getting stuck and not being able to get up for air made him feel sick. Once the last drops slipped out Wilbur carefully turned the bottle back over, relieving some of the pressure on tommys body.
“Okay now you’re really going to have to trust me Tom,” Wilbur started slowly.
Tommy’s eyes grew wide with fear as Wilbur brought out a hammer from one of the kitchen drawers. Wilbur hated the way tommy stiffened at the sight, and he hoped the tiny knew he would never intentionally hurt him.
“I have to break the glass to get you out,” Wilbur frowned, “I’ll be careful I promise…But I can’t reach you from there.”
Tommy shook his head frantically and tried to push himself out of the glass but it was to no avail- without Wilbur’s help he was stuck.
“Please stay still Tom,” Wilbur grimaced as he positioned the hammer only two inches from Tommy’s body. Slowly he pressed against the glass, tilting the bottle so that any glass that broke wouldn’t fall on Tommy. It took a few minutes of constant pressure but eventually a small crack formed on the bottles lip. Now focusing on the crack he pressed a bit harder, and with a loud crack a chunk of the neck broke off.
Tommy yelped at the sound and slammed his eyes shut in fear, but before any of the shattered glass could touch him Wilbur swept it away with his fingers.
“See your safe, ive almost got you,” Wilbur hummed in reassurance.
Carefully to not it himself on the sharp glass Wilbur stuck his fingers into the just-wide enough hole until he could feel the tiny. As gently as he could he pressed his fingers against Tommy’s chest and started to drag him back.
He hissed as part of the sharp bottle dug into his fingers, but he decided he’d rather have it hurt him than the tiny. He’d heal much faster anyways.
“Just stay still a bit longer,” Wilbur gnawed on his lip in concentration, “You’re almost out.”
He could feel Tommy hum against his finger tips, and with a little more pressure he was able to pull the tiny all the way out. Immediately Tommy let out a sigh of relief and collapsed against his fingers- his clothing soaked and torn up from the glass.
“Thanks will,” he whispered with his head pressed into the side of Wilbur’s thumb, “Didn’t need it though.”
An endeared smiled forced its way across Wilbur’s lips.
“Yeah whatever you gremlin. Now go get cleaned up, you’re all sticky.”
Does Wilbur ever start giving Tommy puzzles to do? I've seen videos of marine biologists putting tiny octopus in jars and watching them unscrew them from the inside.
After a while he realizes just how smart Tommy is and starts bringing him more 'puzzles' to escape, but he's actually teaching him to escape live traps other scientists are trying to use.

A New Puzzle
————————
Octotommy au
Notes: hey first writing for the new AU!! I love the idea of Wilbur getting puzzles for Tommy and the mer getting so excited every time he solves one. (And I also love the angstier idea of Wilbur teaching Tommy to escape traps) Thank you so much for the ask zeetle my beloved :] 💙
————————
“Tommy come out, Ive got a new puzzle for you.”
Wilbur waited impatiently, the plastic fins on his feet getting pulled back and forth by the icy current as he floated- a reminder that he couldn’t stay long. Meanwhile, his eyes stared intently at the giant rock formation poking up from the sand below- The same rock formation he’d visited every day for months since finding Tommy.
It was a couple months ago that he had found the tiny octopus mer. He’d been setting out traps for crabs, and when he came back that same day one trap was missing. He’d searched around the reef for almost an hour before he spotted the shiny metal bars peeking out of a pile of worn rocks. He’d reached his hand in without second though, but what he grabbed onto wasn’t the hard metal he was anticipating, instead it was soft and squishy.
It was the first time he’d ever met Tommy, and although the octopus mer was nervous he seemed to love being in Wilbur’s hands. Day by day Wilbur came back to take notes on the fascinating creature. He’d never seen anything like Tommy, and although he loved learning more about him he couldn’t he’ll but become fond of his heart laughs and wild personality.
Only a month in the visits started to feel more like visiting a friend then doing research.
“Come on Tom,” Wilbur called out again impatiently, “It’s just me.”
The water was freezing already even though it was only early August, and even with a full wetsuit he felt his skin crawling with goose bumps.
Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait much longer before a flash of red peaked out from a behind a nearby rock.
Wilbur watched with amusement as small tentacles flicked towards him. They curled around the water a bit, and Wilbur couldn’t help the warm feeling in his chest when he realizes the tentacles were searching for his hand.
Slowly he nudged his fingers forward and as soon as one of the tentacles brushed against it they all wrapped around his hand like a glove.
The small mer’s face beamed with joy as he smiled up at the researcher, “New puzzle?”
“Yep, a couple of them actually” Wilbur chuckled, “Took you long enough.”
Tommy huffed and tightened his tentacles around Wilbur’s arms, “I was sleeping dickhead. You came so early today.”
“Its noon,” Wilbur cocked his eyebrow in amusement.
The mer’s tentacles flashed bright red for a moment before settling back to their natural maroon state.
“You stupid humans and your stupid time,” Tommy grumbled, “I was still sleeping, so it was early.”
Wilbur laughed and brushed the tips of his fingers over Tommy’s head in the way he knew the mer adored. Immediately, the tentacles around his wrist turned pale pink as the mer’s head pushed its way into his hand.
“You’re so clingy,” Wilbur smirked earning another groan from the tiny octopus, “Now come on, let go. Gotta do the puzzles before I freeze to death.”
Reluctantly, Tommy wriggled against his hand before forcing his tentacles off one by one. The sudden lack of warmth shocked the researcher a bit, but he knew this had to be done… Even if Wilbur couldn’t help the smile that reached his face every time Tommy instinctively tried to curl back around his hand.
“Alright Tommy I’ve brought you one new one, and it’s important that you figure it out okay?”
The mer just shrugged and lazily floated around Wilbur’s head, his tentacles pulsing under him to keep him up, “Yeah yeah, hand it over.”
Wilbur smiled at the young mer’s enthusiasm and dug through his bag until his hands met a sharp piece of metal. Even the feeling of it against his skin made him feel queasy.
“Alright just- I need you to go inside of it okay,” Wilbur stuttered nervously, “I just need to see if you can get out.”
Slowly he pulled out the “puzzle” from his bag and carefully watched the mer’s expression. Tommy looked curious and a little unsure, but not afraid. And his tentacles stayed at their natural shade of maroon.
Wilbur wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not.
The “puzzle” was actually a trap: one of the newest models the lab was using to catch more elusive specimens. And with all the talk about Tommy going around, he worried theyd start using it to hunt after the little mer. He new he’d get fired if they ever found out what he was doing, but he’d already failed his job by not bringing in the new creature he’d discovered.
What more harm could be done by teaching Tommy how to escape from his colleagues.
Tommy swam circles around the cage before letting his torso drift inside. Even though Wilbur knew what would happen, he still flinched when the sharp metal bars contracted around the mer.
“Woah shit,” Tommy laughed nervously as he tried to push the tight bars off of him, “Seems kinda dangerous for a puzzle yeah?”
Wilbur hummed, only paying attention to whether or not Tommy was hurt. The bars dug into his skin but it didn’t seem to draw any blood which was good.
Tommy stuck his tongue out in concentration as he slowly guided his tentacles through the metal bars. Each one prodded around against the container until they landed on a small metal latch.
“Too easy Wilbur,” Tommy grinned, and within seconds he’d broken the latch open.
Relief flooded through Wilbur’s body as he felt the mer wrap around his hand again, and this time Wilbur didn’t hesitate in giving him the head rubs he desired.
“Good job,” Wilbur hummed, “Fantastic.”
Tommy almost purred at the touch as Wilbur’s fingers scratched right above his ears. He swore the researcher’s hands were magic because he’d do anything to make him stay there in the water. But sadly, the human looked like he was half-frozen, and by the feeling of his icy skin Tommy didn’t think he could stay much longer.
“Alright,” Wilbur whispered after a few minutes, “I’m going to freeze to death if I stay any longer. I’ll see you again soon though. Maybe tomorrow. Be careful.”
Tommy deflated and wrapped himself tighter around Wilbur’s hand earning a small laugh form the researcher, “I’m always careful, who do you think I am?”
Wilbur stared fondly at the mer and gently pried him off of his hand, “I think you’re you Tommy. And I know you think you’re invincible. So be careful.”
The mer just pouted at the human’s scolding. He’d gone years without ever being caught (except for by Wilbur), so he didn’t understand why Wilbur was so paranoid. There was no way he’d be discovered again.
It was only when the same “puzzles” from that night started to pop up all over the reef that Tommy realized maybe Wilbur had a point…
what if someone signed Phil up for a subscription to get tinies for food and the first one was sent free?
That tiny?
Was Kristen
ZEETLE YES!!
It would have to be a different au since in the ls!au they met online, but I’m all for an angsty Mumza au >:)
It happened relatively early in his streaming career. A random confirmation email about some free subscription caught his attention and when he clicked on it he was immediately disgusted. The email was from a company that sold tinies and it was saying it would be sending him one soon :)
When a small bad finally arrived at his P.O. Box he was quick to free the sleeping tiny. He threw away the “ingredients” they sent with her and the awful recipes about various ways to cook her. Hed never been around tinies before so he tried his best to keep her comfortable until she woke up. He piled up some blankets and covered her under the warm fabric.
He was expecting her to be afraid of him when she woke up since he assumed she thought she’d be killed…however he wasn’t expecting her to be completely oblivious about the situation. Apparently she’d been told she’d won a free trip to the uk and had no idea that they’d prepared her as food :)
From there, their relationship progressed like normal with Phil letting her into his streams and making his house a safer place for her, but he never did tell her about the true nature of her “trip”. And as their relationship grew stronger and they eventually got married it became harder and harder to let her know. At some point he didn’t think he ever could, how could he tell his wife she was supposed to be food
How about Wilbur just holding Tommy while he sleeps? Just gazing softly down at his friend curled up in the palms of his hands.
It's comforting, to know that Tommy trust's him while he's vulnerable. And it's comforting to know that he can protect his little friend with his own hands.
-Zeetle
Have some little streamer fluff, as a treat :]
Even after so many months, Wilbur never quite got used to the strange feeling in his heart whenever Tommy fell asleep on him.
They had been editing a video together, Tommy in Wilbur’s hands as they made changes. It had been peaceful and quiet, so when Wilbur looked down just to find the tiny asleep in his hand he hadn’t been surprised.
His eyes felt locked to the tiny sleeping figure in the center of his palm. He was sure if anyone saw him staring at his friend theyd be able to see the hearts in his eyes. He just couldn’t help it. Tommy was sprawled out like a cat and Wilbur couldn’t fight the warm protective feeling in his heart.
In their day to day lives he barely ever payed attention to just how small his best friend was. Of course he knew he was a tiny and that he was small even for his size, but Tommy was barely the size of his palm and feather-light. It was an awful thought but he could crush him with barely any effort, yet Tommy slept soundly in between his fingers. Even with how small he was, he trusted Wilbur enough to be vulnerable and that was almost enough to make Wilbur cry.
Subconsciously his fingers wrapped around the tiny until he could barely see him. It was a nice feeling- being able to completely wrap up Tommy in his hands. And if he focused enough, he could just barely feel the light exhales against his skin. Tommy was his to keep safe, and while he slept Wilbur would make sure nothing bad came to him.
