Shrines are just so beautiful.
idk about yall but i am really digging these 30+ shrines of rauru’s blessings and not being limited out in the overworld like you are in the regular shrines. like those are some hella easy light of blessing grabs. a lot of them got me in real time saying “that was it O.O?” good job devs
Playing breath of the wild and thinking about all the shrines. Like. Did the sheikah form cliques? Did the puzzle sheikah think that the combat trial sheikah were dumb? Like, there’s one that’s been studying and studying and refining a puzzle and another one comes up and says “oh you aren’t done yet?”
“Why would I be done yet? This is my chance to leave an impression on a hero. To make them think! To stretch their intellect and challenge their cunning and observational skills!”
“So... what’s it going to be?”
“I’m thinking something with fire? Or water? Or fire AND water!”
“You’ve got choice paralysis don’t you.”
“Well don’t you?”
“Nah, I’ve finished my shrine, it was easy.”
“Yeah? What’s your puzzle?”
“Get past this robot!”
The first sheikah sighs and shakes their head.
“What?”
“It’s just, where's the challenge?”
“It’s in the three-armed robot with laser eyes, nerd.”
“… I. It’s just…”
“It’s just what, puzzle-boy?”
“We've got all this technology, the potential is staggering!”
“Yeah, and I’ve got a STAGGERING three-armed combat robot with a laser axe and a bitching shield.”
The squabbling continues until a third sheikah shows up and asks what’s wrong.
“Heroes become heroes by fighting, we don’t need to test them on it! We need to make sure they are adept problem solvers! But meathead LUNK over here thinks we need shrines to be trial by combat!”
“Brains don’t make a hero, there've been plenty of dumb heroes”
“Like who? Name one!”
“Your mom!”
“Take that back!”
“Or what, you'll think hard at me? Make a puzzle for me to solve? I’m quaking in my boots.”
The third sheikah raises her hand. “You’re both wrong.”
“How are we both wrong?” Asks the first.
“The best way to set up a shrine is to hide it, leave rumors and riddles in the local populace, and mere entry to the shrine is the test.”
“Fuck off! You’re the WORST!”

nothing like true zelda botw/totk universe lore when you have to watch a 3 hour video on all shrine locations when you have just a few random ones left (less then 5) to finish to complete them all; devs i am begging for a shrine completion list feature in the game menu

totk IQ tests is something that i certainly do not have bc those temple puzzles are beyond me. at least in botw i could get somewhat through the divine beast puzzle but totk??? brain no work brain IQ very veRY VERY LOW even the shrines. ive maybe done 20% of the game by myself but the rest was all walkthroughs and guides
