Got a memory with Zelda being very frustrated at the Spring of Power and :( :( poor girl.

Sad rendition of Zelda’s Lullaby mixed with other music in the background was lovely.

Link was in guard mode in the background and turned his head to listen better when she started talking to herself/Hylia about how her grandmother and mother could both do what she’s trying to do.

Zelda: But I don’t hear...or feel anything!

Zelda: Father has told me time and time again..

Zelda: He always says, “Quit wasting your time playing at being a scholar!”

OW.

That would have done a number on her even if he hadn’t thrown “playing” in there.

I suspect with this issue her dad had trouble balancing being a king (Zelda needs to unlock her powers ASAP because Ganon could return any day and therefore anything else Zelda wants to do is less important) and being a father.

So now she’s kind of a tangled mess of “this is important and I have to do this” and “I’d rather be doing scholarly things” and “I’m upset with my father for dismissing the things I love to do” and “I’m really trying at this and nothing is working” all coupled with the impending doom of Ganon’s return.

(I kind of know how her powers eventually unlock but I’m curious to see the details because you’d think Ganon actually returning would sort of untangle all that since now the danger is Right There. Hmm.)

And then she cursed Hylia (which. um. does not seem helpful, but she was pretty upset) and talked about how she’d prayed every day and wasn’t getting an answer despite her devotion.

Zelda: Please just tell me....What is it...? What’s wrong with me?!

Annd sounding very near tears at that point if she wasn’t already there; Link turned all the way around like he wanted to say something and then the memory faded.
