My lord and patron, with Show of Hands and the Spooky Men sing an old folksong from Yorkshire.
Zenloth and I were in the audience for this, it was amazing.

Heroes, folk music and voodoo.
I am currently re-watching heroes with Zenloth (it's too bad they only made the one season) and I really want decent fic that isn't about Sylar. Something about Matt or about Nikki and family or Issac or Hiro being Hiro would be nice. AO3 seems to have all the Sylar ever.
I am off to another folk festival tomorrow, and my favouritest band in the world will be there, as well as several in my top thirty, and they have late-night ceilidhs. Pixi and myself are stewarding the children's events, so we get all the evenings free. :)
I'm making a voodoo doll prop for my (high fantasy/medieval) LRP. Anyone got any suggestions on this? I think it's gonna be a gingerbread-man shaped doll but i'm not sure about the face or the filling or how ragged to make it.
Liverpool was surprisingly awesome.
Zen is headed off there for Uni in September, I went with him to scout out accommodation. The bits I saw - around the university campuses weren't as intense as I was expecting(I've lived in the sticks all my life, the presence of more than 5 people in my vicinity is intimidating), some bits were positively small-town-esque and there are some very pretty buildings about.
We stopped at a McD's on the way back, they had toys from that horrible smurf movie, I kind of wanted to get some and turn them into Pterry's Nac-mac-feegle (the wee free men) would this be sacrilegious to Pterry's work? Has anyone done this?
