The April Fools Special Update

That’s it, this is the best one so far... The opening screen can’t get better than this !! I’m still surprised, I didn’t expect a new DLC already, just for April fools. In addition, featuring the birth of Zenus, 7ephyrus the deity of winds chips and Jumin Hanrae the deity of seasons money !

One of my favorite things about Dragon Quest IX is the Grotto Boss Atlas. His intro line at first just seems... what? I mean he literally says “Why you no listen?! Atlas angry! Why you turn into tree?!” I must admit, on my first run-through I just kind of blinked at that and moved on. But after meeting Fouleye and discovering that the Grotto Bosses are Zenus... it suddenly makes sense. Zenus is angry that Celestria won’t listen to him about the humans. He’s angry. And Celestria turned herself into the World Tree, Yggdrasil, in order to protect the planet from her own father.

So I may hate the guy but at the same time... it kind of makes me feel sorry for him. Just something I thought DQIX did really well. Little things like this are in all the Grotto Bosses’ dialogue, but this one is my favorite.
