No disrespect to Zervis, especially because Zeref is such a fundamental part not just of Mavis' journey but of the creation of Fairy Tail too, but I'm actually on the Mavis x Zera train. They are so adorable together and I wish that Zera hadn't been dead all along.
Okay concept for Zera. When Mavis realizes the truth of Zera's existence, at first she disappears. Then a couple days later she reappears with a more... realistic appearance. By this I mean she has injuries from the night she died. But additionally she has a small tail, a symbol of both her strange nature and the way she has been a driving force for Mavis. Additionally she fully grows up because Mavis interprets Zera as being unaffected by the curse.
