It's been seven minutes into the Leon CD and Zero has already gotten in his face while whispering huskily. Quality content.
man, idk abt character wise but henry and leo would be aesthetic 👌👌 (any thoughts on possible zero - awakening interactions?)
Hahaha I do not think Leo and Henry could stand each other either.
Honestly I’d be content to sit back and watch Zero troll the whole Awakening cast about their deepest insecurities. Zero is just a lot of fun in general, in the worst of ways.
It occurred to me, looking at this*, that Niles kind of talks like a foodie. ("palate", "mouthfeel")
That's kind of fascinating, since foodieism is very strongly associated with upper class lifestyles, and people from poorer backgrounds that I've known almost universally scoff at foodieism. One guy I knew who liked making fancy dinners for himself very strongly denied that he was a foodie and said, "I just like good food." (To be fair, he was into like, good pulled pork, so he honestly wasn't a foodie.)
By comparison, his Japanese lines aren't so foodie so much as sexual:
MKID_店番_食堂_ゼロ_0: 俺に料理を作れって…?\nイイぜ、俺の味を教えてやるよ… Make you a dish, you say? Very well. I'll show you how I taste... I've gathered the ingredients. Shall we start? I'm going to cut you all up... Oh... for such pleasure to exist in a dish... I almost reached climax... There are some pretty good flavors here... Hey, tell me who made dinner tonight... Hold up. What the hell is this? Did they slip in some kind of aphrodisiac...?
(* Yes, it appears that I have a jfen counterpart who likes to translate NoA things for jfen! Also I did send in the correction about 皿 already if you're wondering.)
c-can we hear more abt zero adopting eponine in a universe where mamuixzero didnt work out, pretty please?
It’s a fic concept I’ve been tossing around in my head. It involves Zero impulsively plucking Eponine out of a vase on the streets because he was lonely, Eponine and Foleo being adorable milk siblings, Zero having complicated feelings about how Leon treats his queer son, Eponine vaguely shipping Leon/Zero because she thinks her dad is lonely while Zero grows increasingly aware of the differences in their status.
It’s kind of the most Me concept I have tossing around in my brain right now. I’d write it but there’s still a bunch about the story I don’t have sorted out.
how do you think niles and m!kamui's talk about eventually adopting children/the process of doing it goes? i can tell niles obviously wants badly to have a family, but i also feel he'd be very hesitant about his capability- even with eponine, i feel his perceived neglect is at least partially sourced from a fear of doing wrong by her. i think in the case where they'd have to adopt, theres much more active agency(?) involved and am wondering how you think that would go for niles and mkamui.
You know, I’ve left this sitting in my inbox for a few days and at this point I think I just have to confess that I’m not sure what this ask is... asking. It sounds like you already have an idea of how this situation goes. The Zero-adopting-Eponine scenario most fleshed out in my mind happens in a universe where Zero/Mamui didn’t quite pan out, so I don’t really have answers for you.
“Fates DLC 👍🏻”
For a moment, this really worried me, because I had been so certain that Zero didn't use his Language @ Leon, but then I checked the script and:
1) Niles is actually talking to Ryouma with that line, and
2) in the Japanese, Leon is offended in a very vague manner that may suggest that his real beef is being volunteered for the contest by his retainers when everyone up until now has been playing hot potato with this ticket.
▼ And I'm certain that Hinoka and Sakura would politely decline such a thing. 心苦しいがこの券はやはり カムイに…▼ Although it pains my heart to do so, it seems that this ticket must go back to Kamui... Do you turn your backs upon us!? 話は聞かせてもらったぞ…!▼ End times are upon us! (Lit. "I have informed you!" But I'm like 99% sure that this is a meme.) Aren't you quitting too soon? 早い男は嫌われますよ…?▼ I do hate men who give out early... Odin, Zero!?
So, whew, I don't have to upset my outline for the 29489234th time.
Happy birthday, Zero!
Continuing because when I say i enjoyed How to Break a Man, I mean I really, really enjoyed it: the original characters in the fic where so good too! I'm particularly curious about Fingers' past, and about what happened to Fingers and Jet after the events of the fic. I have questions about The Boss too, but all of this is only if you're not too busy to elaborate...?
Oh, sure, Fingers I did have more thoughts on.
Fingers is meant to be paralleled with Zero. Jet is the next victim in this toxic cycle--and Fingers was the one who came before. (His time in that occupation came to an end because, as they say, he was missing a nose and an ear and he was no longer cute. As to how he lost those bits--punishment for being caught in petty crimes.) That’s why Fingers is the one who nominally protests when they’re like “hey let’s pimp out the kid”, and why he feels some degree of connection to Zero that leads him to be something of a personal mentor to him.
None of this is strictly necessary to enjoy the fic, but it’s my headcanon www.
Sadly I don’t really have many thoughts about The Boss in general, and I didn’t think much about what happens to individual gang members after the events of the story, although the Zero/Harold supports sort of hint at the future of his gang.
