Song Diary Day 203: "Te Quiero (ATFC Remix" by Zero DB
I've had this song on my list of contenders for almost as long as I've been doing this music diary project. Tuesday was my day to finally let it sit at the grown-up's table, so to speak. I actually thought really hard about putting some African fusion music for today since I was making traditional Ethiopian sambusa for dinner, but I decided to slot that music into my song diary at a later date.
Anyway, "Te Quiero" came to my attention via the Blur soundtrack, and became tied for favorite song on the soundtrack with approximately half of the other songs on the soundtrack. However... by objective playback statistics, this is actually my most played song in the soundtrack by a sizable margin. I decided to go with this song for Tuesday's entry because I recently put it on my workout playlist.
On Tuesday, I went for a run, and it was rough. It was blazing hot, even at 10:00PM, and the humidity was really high. Lightning was zipping across the sky constantly, but no rain came to make it better. Unfortunately, that crazy humidity makes it really uncomfortable to wear headphones because of all the extra sweat, ant it's been like this for weeks.
Long story short, I haven't been wearing headphones for my runs in a while. But that doesn't mean I can't have a playlist running in my head! And thus today's song played in my mind as my run sent sweat flying all over the track.
And I finished 2.5 miles! Still got some training to do to get ready for my triathlon next month, but I think it's shaping up!
