Understanding the Concept of Carbon Neutral Buildings and Implementation to the Society
The development of the carbon-neutral building is said to be designed to have a zero-carbon footprint with a structure that is energy efficient and it uses renewable energy to mitigate and lessen carbon emissions. According to World Green Building, the number one leading cause of carbon emission is coming from building and construction with about 38% of global consumption in carbon emission.
In the Philippines, one of the highest costs of electric consumption are Commercial and Residential buildings that takes to an account for 63% of the electricity supply. Leading to an increase of 45% over the past decade. The implementation of carbon-neutral buildings in the Philippines is said to mitigate the consumption of electricity of 63% to a much better result. With natural resources that is a primarily subsidence of carbon-neutral building, it is reliable to its environmentally friendly to its own accord. In retrospect, Carbon Neutral buildings could elevate and mitigate the pollution in the Philippines and said to change the paradigm of it. Though there are reasons why implementing Carbon Neutral Building is an ongoing process of change because of its high maintenance as well as highly cost for a long-term investment, that is why the Zero Carbon buildings are said to be held in the long run with such lackluster providing needs of commercial operators and residential units there are much alternatives that are not environmental friendly sources that can do things twice the Carbon neutral building.
In compliance of an architect, it is one of the reasons to understand the site's surroundings. Application of natural resources and careful planning have a vital role in successful building construction. Building construction has a huge impact when it comes to the environment thus architects should comply with Carbon Neutral Buildings in order to maintain the environment and to lessen the destruction to its nature. Leading pollution can be vital in such a way that it causes diseases to humans and construction is one of the leading causes of pollution. With careful analysis, it is better to occupy and understand how we manage and operate the system to have safe settings and environment.
In my own observation, I have seen an industry with such innovative environmentally friendly systems that can be implemented in our society. Carbon-neutral buildings fascinate me to understand the carbon emission exposure to the environment. Understanding where the leading cause of pollution is said to be a wise decision in order to mitigate such problems that are absorbed in long-term process. Changing building structure with much more idealistic in avoiding much damage to our community I agree with implementing carbon-neutral buildings not only it make society much more efficient it also brings visual to the planning state of site development.
As an incoming architect applying green architecture is part of my style not only does it bring the natural and healthy environment to its own accord but it is more aesthetically pleasing when it comes to building structure. It allows me to motivate other architects to be exposed to and understand the importance of natural resources. Changes come in handy when helping the surrounding it gives off a paradigm of endless solutions to garner all the problems little by little.
