They're a gang, alright...A gang of MENACES- Local insectophobe gets bullied at the arcade, when he finds himself playing a horror game with a dedicated bug themed level. It's made all the worse when his friend has the power to actively share what's happening on screen with him, through his mind, when he's otherwise blind and unable to see it. My best Art Fight attack this year, hands down-!! Super proud of how it turned out, I've never finished drawing this many characters in the same piece before. Usually it ends up a forgotten, uncoloured sketch, somewhere on my laptop- Left to rot forever. Love my goofy cast of characters, and my friend's character in the middle there- hehehehe- @solar-seicrem Get dunked on-

Zhāoyáng joins ART FIGHT-!! I wanted at least her and her eldest son, in the fray- Gonna take a break now, I have other work to catch up on. But if I somehow still have time before July... I'll at least add Kwasi to the mix... And if by some miracle, I get time AND energy... I'll do all the 5 eldest brothers-

A while back, I picked out random dates as birthdays for my characters-! Today is Zhāoyáng's birthday, and I finally had time to draw something with her in it! Even though it's terribly rushed-

Having two alternate stories for this one character though, I felt the need to draw both versions!

Set in the game Dislyte, the Zhāoyáng on the left is blessed with the power of the Chinese goddess Longmu. Whereas the Zhāoyáng on the right, is blessed with the power of the Chinese goddess Xihe.

The mother of dragons, and the goddess of the sun...

One has managed to protect her children, with a love unrestricted by blood ties- The other's love was tragically not enough to protect them from life's unfair cruelty.

10 adopted sons, taken off the streets, by this old ex-gangster...

In one story, she has given her all to raise and guide them well, and one day...It will be their turn to care for her as she grows older.

In the other...She is hellbent on vengeance for the 9 boys she lost that fateful day- For hell has no fury like that of a mother, with nearly nothing left to lose.

(I was also able to redesign Longmu Zhāoyáng, after having the opportunity to visit a temple to Longmu in person! Research in person always trumps whatever little I can find of her online.)

Did a little short animated gif of my dislyte OC for a final! Animation is painful, it's not great, but I'm happy with it so what the heck- XD

And of course, we have Dragon Mom herself! Quite different from the original timeline, where Xihe awakens her instead.

I wonder how I should tell the story of all these people, considering most who follow me likely don't know about Dislyte...Hmm... Well, asks are open for any of them. I might do small comics every now and then.

"Why the hell does everyone keep asking me if I watched Game of Thrones!? What the fuck is Game of Thrones???"

Zhāoyáng hardly feels like a person.

For as long as she can remember, she has felt empty. Devoid of joy. Devoid of ambition. Devoid of meaning in her life.

It's this state of mind that leads her into a life of crime. Unfeeling. Uncaring. Just going through the motions of putting food on the table.

When her only friend dies young, with his last words urging her to find a purpose in life, she decides to leave the gang they grew up in.

The gang is wiped out by a rival group, and she barely escapes with her life. Mourning the fact that it seems like such a waste, that she and so many others find themselves trapped in such a life, she resolves to try one last thing to feel fulfillment.

She gathers up her savings, and starts taking in kids off the street, to stop them from going down the same path. 10 boys in total.

When their lives are threatened one day, divine intervention gives her the power of the goddess Longmu. The Mother of Dragons. And she's able to protect them all.

Finally, nearing the age of 60, she finds happiness...And her calling as a Mother, to those in need of one.
