Shitty decides to stop being jealous and stop seething because he's tired and sad. So one day when they meet up for lunch, Shitty cuts his losses and point-blank asks Jack "Are we still best friends?" Jack is confused and hurt and he says "Of course. Do you not feel like we are?" Shitty explains that he's been intimidated by Tater since Shitty went to Harvard and Jack went to the Falcs but now that Tater's injury has healed and he still hasn't moved out, he's a little more concerned. "If it's something personal or if you just don't want to tell me, I totally understand. I just want you to know that I miss you and you're still my best friend." And Jack is like "...Bitty and I have adopted Tater into our relationship." And Shitty blinks for a moment before launching himself across the table to hug Jack and quietly tell him that he deserves all of the boyfriends in the world

Zimbitater with Tater as their aroace life partner (from this post) is just Tater making the flimsiest excuses for why he can’t move out even after he’s healed and Jack and Bitty being like “no, no you’re so right”. And they’re like “Well if we’re cuddling on the couch it’d be rude to not let Tater come cuddle with us.” And it goes on like this for a while before Tater just stops coming up with excuses and is just their roommate but in a distinctly affectionate and loving and cuddly non-roommate way.

Then Jack and Bitty get engaged and Tater is like “Do I need to move out?” Jack and Bitty are both offended like “No?? Why would you do that?? Our hands are always cold but yours are always warm, you can’t leave.”

And then like three years down the line they finally learn the term qpp and go “OH. That’s what we are.” And then they buy a house together.
