I read the article the video is powerful. This was my experience at Boston College. That was almost 15 years ago and people are still experiencing the same separatist and lonliness in higher education. This makes me sad on one hand we don't belong in their world where our contribution is constantly devalued. On the other hand we are isolated in and from our own community for overachieving and not "representing" the ignorance that defines us mostly through media. We are stuck looking inward to find ourselves and looking outward for each other for the validation only we could ever understand. Sorry for rambling but this hits a nerve. People flourish in environments where there is constant love and positive reinforcement while we are constantly questioned, mocked, devalued, unrecognized and challenged for our achievements and despite receiving mostly negativity we survive.
