Here I am, literally and figuratively struggling for words. I attached some photos of my latest look in case you're feeling sickly like me and can't be bothered to read. I woke up this morning to find out that I lost my voice-- serves me right for picking cold drinks over tea last night and insisting to engage in conversations even after my cousin, bless her, declared that I sounded like a choking frog. And so it occurred to me that however coy I may be, given a riveting topic, a safe place and a circle of colourful-minded people, I am actually talkative. The worst part: imagine how hard it was when someone in the room began singing Breakeven with a smug and mocking look because (dayum) it's my shower jam and I am dying to sing along but I can't. I suppose I sort of went a little ballistic. Also, count on my family to find humour in my case; they thought it was the perfect excuse to play a game of charade.

They all stopped guessing now though. It's dark and quiet and I've had some peace for a good thirty minutes now. There's a hot cup of ginger tea waiting to be finished and a page of Kerouac's novel waiting to be turned. It's December tomorrow. In my periphery, the fairy lights are up and already dancing.
