The entire scene before Jed goes under for surgery is just. Oh it's art.
The "well.. I've been shot" like Jed be Serious.
Zoey calls her dad "daddy" in this moment when she barely ever does and that is precious. Her voice telling him he did so good tonight like oh she is so scared.
"Honey, I'm fine. I'm just so happy to see you" while Jed is clearly out of breath and getting so tired.
"Mom's gonna be pretty pissed."
The way Leo bursts in and just stares at Jed for a moment, not saying anything, so shocked at actually seeing this is real. The first thing he does say is "how're you doing, kid?" To Zoey and that is everything.
They don't know about Josh yet!!!
Jed seeing how worried Leo is and getting him close, kissing him on the cheek. Telling him "I'm okay." Oh he loves this man. He loves this man so much.
"Dad's making jokes." "Good ones?" "No."
