Zombie Fun Run 2016 - Olive Branch, MS

This was a family fun event where participants ran/walked a 5K course around the town square in Olive Branch, Mississippi avoiding zombies along the way. Everyone started with 3 flags. If the zombies stole all 3 of your flags you became infected. No worries, though. If infected, you still got to finish the race and get your photo taken with zombies at the end.

I feel like I should give a shout out to the zombie fun runner who came into my job yesterday and nearly gave me a heart attack. Does anyone know what it's like to come out if a bathroom stall and see someone off to the side COVERED IN BLOOD?!?! I nearly freaked out, and nearly asked her if she was okay. I'm glad her zombified friend came out of another stall and I understood. I need a memo when there's a zombie fun run. My heart can't handle seeing a girl with blood dripping down her face and all over her clothes and legs. It was a good precursor to the walking dead finale.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES: A 5k Zombie Infested Obstacle Course

WILL YOU SURVIVE?

Protect your brain and run for your life. This is one race where your legs giving out are the least of your problems. Run For Your Lives is a first-of-its-kind event, one part 5K, one part obstacle course, one part escaping the clutches of zombies — and all parts awesome.

Runners will navigate a series of challenging obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line — all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!
