Since 2018, Equality for Flatbush : E4F has received reports of gender-based violence against Black women occurring at The Zombie House, a white-owned gentrifying bar in #Flatbush that culturally appropriates #Caribbean culture. Survivors have reported being either assaulted by #ZombieHouse owner, Josh Kaplan, or that he was complicit in covering up the incident. Survivors have also reported that the NYPD refused to pursue their cases . At the urging of one of the survivors, E4F organized a community speak out in front of the bar during the "March against White Supremacy and Gentrification in #Flatbush" on 11/3/2018. On September 21, 2019 an another Black woman reported being assaulted at Zombie House. As result there is a call from the women in the community to #BoycottZombieHouse, located at 734 Flatbush Ave .
