PODCAST REPLAY! I haven’t ever spontaneously put up a replay before, but I’ve thought of this conversation with Robert Smith? SO many times in the last two weeks that I decided to put it up as an extra this week. Robert Smith? (yes, the ? is part of his name) is a mathematician who models disease outbreaks, and also helps to figure out how effective vaccines might be before they’re actually put into use. He’s most famous for the zombie outbreak models he and his students created several years ago, which yielded data that’s actually been useful with real diseases. He’s also a super interesting guy, but if you’ve wondered how that sort of mathematical modelling works, or just need to be reassured that there are a LOT of creative people working to solve the coronavirus, this episode is for you. . Whether you’ve heard this episode before or you’re new to it, it’s well worth a listen. Stay safe and well! We’ll get through this together. 😷🥰 . . . . .
