Theory on why the chimera zombies are an ability of vampires
Not sure if it this was obvious/stated or if this is nonsense
Zombies have bad regeneration.
Will remarks Tarkus moving not like there was a regen ability he didn't know, but like Tarkus is moving regardless of his injuries.
Zombies at least don't regen after they are made, but there is something troubling about Bruford and Tarkus's resurrection. Bruford and Tarkus were dead for around 300 years, far past rotting down the skin and bone. They also killed in a way a leaves the head and body separate and thus unable to do anything. So what happened? In the final chapter Dio promises to Johnathan that he can heal Johnathan's wounds. This could mean vampirism as Dio is shown to make vampires in SDC, but so far in the story that Dio has not displayed this ability and there is no benefit to making Johnathan possibly stronger than him.
Speaking of SDC Vampires though, Vanilla Ice is Vampire, a watered down one, but a vampire nonetheless. What is interesting about Vanilla's vampirification process though is that he was beheaded before being turned, he was torn apart and dead before reviving, specifically a beheading. Though vampires have regen, I think this healing/revival process should be taken into mind.
In this panel, we can see something interesting, a neck scar and Tarkus's neck, implying it had healed over before he rose out of the ground.
I propose that with enough or more deliberate uses of vampire extract, vampires can heal the corpses before bringing them back as zombies. I think whenever dio revived them, the flesh grew over their bones, undoing centuries of decay while also undoing the decapitation that lead to Bruford and Tarkus's death. (Idk why there is scar because all the flesh has to be new, and Bruford and Tarkus wouldn't look like that if they were mummified)
Also the fact that chimera zombies are introduced after the Bruford and Tarkus fight might imply that this is a stepping stone into the chimera zombie creation process. It's that is it's funny how Bruford and Tarkus were decapitated before death, which all the example I talk about here involve.
What does this mean for the chimera zombies?
I don't think this ability of Dio's is completely random, but rather just a manipulation of the healing process, just this time it's forcing flesh of one corpse to treat the flesh of a different corpse like it's the same body, I'm not too sure how the xenotransplantation process works completely, but I think the being zombie thing doesn't really make the who immune system thing a proper issue.
And by now I assume we all assume that Dio's fusion with Johnathan's body is the same process, so I won't go much further into that because quite frankly I don't care for part 3 Dio
I'm not sure why dio had a hard time fusing to Johnathan's body. Is because of the history of hamon or is it just not the same when one component is alive while the other is dead. Also another instance of decapitation healing lol.
