DuneWorld Games at DCAF 2015:
In case you’re only now following us or missed our many announcements and live tweets of the event, four of us (Plus Zane Fernandes, pictured below) manned the DuneWorld’s very first table at a genre event. The Dartmouth Comic Arts Festival last Sunday.
There we had a demo of the newest iteration of “Over My Dead Body” as well as a set up for our latest 48 hour game project “Zono Blast.” And we are proud to say that both of them were very much a hit. We received some really great feedback and we’ll be sure to apply it before we release “Over My Dead Body (For You)” for sale.
There was plenty of fun to be had whether they were testing out the new gameplay advances of OMDB or trying to break the Festival high score on Zono. And boy was that High score a challenge for most. Those who beat it were given a free poster of their choice.
And of course we have many posters left for future shows! Heck, if you’re interested in purchasing one of our 8.5x11 prints just shoot us a message! Supplies are limited.
Of course we weren’t the only catches at DCAF this year, there were dozens of fantastic artists of all levels of renown and they all helped to make it a special day for all visitors. A huge shout out to folks like: Matt Cummings, Kate Leth, Nick Bradshaw, Troy Little, Shannon Long, Geoff Isherwood, dozens more and last but not least, Jeph Jacques for the incredibly awkward photo taken by Dave!
So that’s the long and short of our fantastic voyage to the Dartmouth Comic Arts Festival last Sunday and we hope to be there and ready to go next year. And we hope to see you there as well!
DCAF 2015 Was a Blast.
Zono Blast and the Over My Dead Body Demo was a hit and we met a lot of cool exhibitors and gamers.
Still plenty of prints left for those interested, just drop us a message and we’ll see what we can do with our limited supply!
We’ll have a more in depth analysis of the show in the next few days complete with pictures. Just wanted to let you all know that we had a jolly time!
“Over My Dead Body” and “Zono Blast” can now be found on IndieGameStand:
Try the “Over My Dead Body” prototype here if you haven’t already.
And the most recent DWC 48 Hour game, “Zono Blast” here.
Give one or both a shot and tell us what you (The Consumer) think!
The Making of “Zono Blast”:
Two weeks ago Two thirds of the Collective participated in the Winnitron game jam to create “Zono Blast” (Ultimately coming in second place). Alex, Michael, and Jeff luckily filmed a lot of it. Edited by Alex here you can see how the average Game jam goes for the good old folk here at the DuneWorld.
Enjoy!
Part Two on Youtube:
Zono Blast on Gamejolt:
Zono Blast on Itch.io:
Zono Blast on Kongregate:
“Zono Blast” is now on Gamejolt and Kongregate:
And you can find it here, and here.
But not only can it now be found at Gamejolt and Kongregate, we’ve made quite a bit of an update. The controls have been refined and “Zono Blast” can now be played with an Xbox 360 controller.
If you use Firefox you should be able to play within your Browser.
Naturally this update has also taken effect on our initial itch.io upload and can be found here.
Have fun!
Alex, Jeff, and Mike would fortunate enough to be able to participate in the Winnitron Game Jam to create this neat little survival shooter.
We’re going to have a behind the scenes look at the Game Jam and the creation of “Zono Blast” within a few days so stay tuned for that.
Arrow Keys to move, Z to shoot, and hold down X to strafe in a straight line.
