Greetings from the DuneWorld. You may have noticed that we've been rather silent on our blog as well as Twitter for the last few months. We know what you're thinking but the DuneWorld is alive and well. 

We've been working hard on multiple titles and personal projects but largely our efforts have been on successors to: "Zono Blast" and "Over My Dead Body." So you have those to look forward to in the future.

We're going to be updating the blog on a more frequent basis with work in progress shots, design work, etc. We hope you'll like what you see and like what we have in store for you.

“Over My Dead Body” prints for DCAF 2015:

The Duneworld proudly presents two of the prints we’re going to have for sale at our table at the Dartmouth Comics Art Festival on August the 16th. Both made by the very talented Luis Laczky.

Come on down, try some game demos, take a gander at these lovely “Over My Dead Body” posters and purchase one or two of them. Only at Alderney Landing.

The Dune World at DCAF 2015:

That’s right, The Dune world will be attending the Dartmouth Comic Arts Festival in August. So if you’re in the Halifax/Dartmouth area on August 16th, 2015 you can find us at this FREE event at Alderney Landing. It’s a great event for professionals and fans alike.

We’re going to have two tables (We’ll let you know the lay out as soon as we do) to demo several game projects we have in the works, and be there for the entire event 11AM-5PM if you want to give them a play or just chill.

We’re planning on having some things to give away as well as a print or two for sale as seen in the above “Siesta-Rena” image by the very talented Luis Laczky.

We’ll keep you guys updated as more information is finalized. But in the meantime you can keep yourself busy with our recent Gamejolt Spotlighted effort of “Zono Blast” or one of our previous projects.

The Making of “Zono Blast”:

Two weeks ago Two thirds of the Collective participated in the Winnitron game jam to create “Zono Blast” (Ultimately coming in second place). Alex, Michael, and Jeff luckily filmed a lot of it. Edited by Alex here you can see how the average Game jam goes for the good old folk here at the DuneWorld.

“Zono Blast” is now on Gamejolt and Kongregate:

But not only can it now be found at Gamejolt and Kongregate, we’ve made quite a bit of an update. The controls have been refined and “Zono Blast” can now be played with an Xbox 360 controller. 

If you use Firefox you should be able to play within your Browser.

Naturally this update has also taken effect on our initial itch.io upload and can be found here.

In regards to Let’s Play Videos:

We've gotten a lot of emails in regards to Let's Plays videos on youtube recently. Just to make things perfectly clear, you do not have to ask us. We love you guys and would love to have you take a look at one of our projects. We only ask that you provide any relevant links to us and our games in your descriptions. If you’ve made a Let’s Play and want to show it to us? That’s no issue at all, but you don’t need permission from us to make or post them.

“Siesta-Rena” has been a labor of love over the past few months but like most of them when things start to come together they’re definitely worth it.

As you can see with our game within a dream within our game. An old school adventure throwback to the days of the original gameboy. Alex has gone above and beyond to make it feel like a fully realized gaming experience and it’s not even the bulk of the dream it is featured it.

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

The Dreamers of “Siesta-Rena” Part One:

Alexis Belle (de Boskoop), The Starlet. Alexis is an actress whose starting to come to her success but feels that it is at the loss of important relationships and simplicity. In the Dreamworld she must fight through the paparazzi and the burdens of fame with a little help.

Alexis was the first character we had designed so she kind of became the base on which we would direct the others. Very Old school RPG-Like designs but with a basis on what the character could be wearing in reality. We managed to get a nice outdoorsy outfit derived from this for the scenes out of the dreamworld.
