Belle shrugged. “It’s a beautiful country. The part of France where I grew up was forested and usually very calm. Boring, really. I came here to get a new start, I suppose. Meet new people. And that’s certainly what’s happened.”

Belle stared at the pass in her hand. That was certainly unexpected. Sure, she’d remembered the tiger who’d come into her shop was a dancer...but she hadn’t realized he was one of Gazelle’s dancers. Well, she definitely had time to go to a concert, seeing as she set her own hours. Maybe she’d take a break from the bookshop for a day.

It was a quiet day at Fawn’s Fables, and Belle was reorganizing one of her filing cabinets when she heard the ring of the bell at the shop entrance. She straightened and turned to see a tiger standing by the door. Her instincts screamed “Danger! Danger!”, and she froze for a bare instant, then calmed herself and smiled welcomingly. After all, what predator would come into a bookshop for a meal? Besides, this was Zootopia. She really oughtn’t be afraid of a tiger here. “Good afternoon, may I help you find something, sir?” she asked cordially.

Belle is a white-tailed deer living in Savanna Central, where she owns a little bookshop called Fawn’s Fables. Business isn’t necessarily booming, but she does well enough to keep herself afloat. Though sometimes it seems like her customers would rather gawk at her than actually purchase anything. She stands out a bit from the herd in a sense, you see, since she still has her fawn spots despite being a fully grown doe.

Anybody wanna help me figure out my Zootopia!verse for Belle? (And maybe Beau, too...) All I know really is that Belle would be a cervid of some sort, but I don’t want her to be a gazelle, ‘cause that would be kind of horning in on the character by the same name, and I don’t want that.

Alanna is an Egyptian jackal living in Zootopia’s Sahara Square. She does most of her work in Savanna Central, though. Her work? Well, she’s a con woman. After all, what else is a jackal good at, right? Wrong. Not that it matters. It’s mostly for survival anyway, and unlike some cons in town, she always does her taxes to keep from being arrested for tax evasion. Can’t steal to survive if you’re in jail. Of course, most of her con work also requires the help of a friend.
