[Nibs]
They made their way to the safehouse and Nibs logged them in before knocking on the door to make sure Hope and Zach would know that he was there. “Hope, it’s me.”
[Hope]
Hope stood up and opened the door before seeing her parents, “Hi daddy. Hi mom.” She smiled before moving out of the way. “Zach is coming down in a few minutes.”
[Misty]
“Hi sweetie.” She smiled before walking in with Nibs. She looked around before nodding as she heard Zach was upstairs. “Are you feeling better?”
[Nibs]
“Yes, are you feeling better?” He asks upon hearing that Zach was upstairs as well. “You have been settling in here rather nicely right?”
[Hope]
“Well I don’t want to be here anymore, I would like to go home. But it’s fine.” She shrugged. “I am fine. I was fine before, it was a one time thing. Not a relapse.” Hope told them.
[Misty]
Misty nodded, “Well let’s make sure it really is a one time thing and then we have no problem letting you go home Hope. What does Zach say?”
[Nibs]
“I know but it is better to be safe rather than sorry.” He tells her honestly.
[Hope]
“Yeah whatever.” She sighed before sitting down. “He doesn’t say anything. He wants me to see the kids too but he wants me to be okay first.”
[Misty]
She hummed as she moved to sit down as well. “That’s all we want too you know.”
[Nibs]
“Yes, I am sure the little ones miss you as well.” He tells her before hearing Zach coming down the stairs.
[Zach]
Zach finished his shower and got dressed before heading down the stairs. “Hello, Nibs, Misty.” He says as he greets them before standing by Hope’s side. “Everything okay down here?” Zach asks while looking at Hope.
[Hope]
“Maybe if I didn’t have venom in me I could have seen them earlier.” She said to her father before seeing Zach. “Yeah we are fine.” She said running her fingers through her hair.
[Misty]
Misty had to stop herself from rolling her eyes as she heard Zach’s voice. “Hi Zach.” She said before turning to Hope. “It was to stop you from hurting yourself.”
[Nibs]
Nibs was about to reply before Misty replied for him. “Exactly. It was to keep you from hurting yourself.”
[Zach]
“And it was a one time thing and won’t happen again right?” He asks.
[Hope]
Hope scoffed under her breath at her parents words, “Yeah okay.” She replied.
[Misty]
“I don’t know Zach, are you going to let her take drugs again?” She asked.
[Nibs]
“Right it was a one time thing. No more venom.” He tells Zach.
[Zach]
“I never let her take drugs the first time if that is what you are implying. I do believe the first time she ever started taking them she was living under your roof but it seems those details are irrelevant now apparently.” He said while knitting his eyebrows together.
[Misty]
Misty saw Hope opening her mouth and quickly held up her hand, “Very true Zach, but if you cared about her as you claimed to, then wouldn’t it be up to you to tell her they are bad and not wait until she overdoses to give a shit? Because if I do believe that you are the one that took drugs with her and fucked her on them but it seems those details are irrelevant now.”
[Nibs]
Nibs was about to say something but when he heard Misty’s words, he seemed to know that this was going to spiral. “Why don’t we go? They seem to be content here. We have other places to be Misty.”
[Zach]
Zach took a step closer to Misty as he heard her words, “I do believe that had she not been on them in the first place and had a parental figure tell her they were bad it wouldn’t be up to me. That seems to be a talk to be had with parents who are attentive to their child’s needs and not suddenly care about their significant other or their daughter when they overdose.”
“Also had she not been on them in the first place, I wouldn’t have offered them to her. She did bring them to some parties and yeah we did do that, consensually of course. I am not your father after all.” He smirked, “Now is that all? It is clear she is in good hands here and I am sure you both have other places to be. A war to prepare for etc.”
[Misty]
Misty stood up and moved past Nibs and went Zach, “Funny. You seem to think you know everything that goes on in this family. Well I know things too Zach, like the fact that if you didn’t give the love of your life to grandfather she wouldn’t have tried to kill herself. But you are just so attentive aren’t you? And if a 16 year old girl gives me drugs I am not stupid enough to actually take them nor offer them to her.”
“You claim to have stalked her before so wouldn’t have known she liked taking them? Or did you just watch sexually? Because that would be really creepy don’t you think?”
[Hope]
Hope stood up and moved in between Zach and her mom and nodded, “Zach just let them go. We have to call the kids and this isn’t worth it. So please just let them go.” Hope told him. “For me.”
[Nibs]
Nibs moved between Hope and Misty. “Princess, let’s go home, she is fine. This isn’t worth getting worked up over. We do have a baby to be worried about after all.” He tells her.
[Zach]
Zach was about to say something before he bit his tongue when he heard Hope’s words. “You are right, she isn’t worth it.” He says directly at Misty before turning his attention to Hope. “I am sure the kids have a lot to share with us. You are right.” Zach gave Hope a sweet kiss.
[Misty]
Misty stepped back as she heard Nibs words. “I’m not worth it? I’m sorry and the man that has beat his children’s mother is.” She scoffed before backing away. “Fine let’s go.”
[Hope]
Hope kissed Zach and kept their lips together when she heard her mom’s words. She waited until her parents were gone and broke their lips apart.
[Zach]
Zach’s eyes flickered at Misty’s words, before he focused on Hope and their kiss. He kissed her a bit more aggressively until he heard the door shut, signalling that they left. “I didn’t know you tried to kill yourself after what Jack did...was that when I was still...venomized?”
[Hope]
Hope just nodded, “Zach don’t worry okay? It wasn’t because of you. It was all the fucked up shit Jack had done. I didn’t know how to process it, but then I found out I was pregnant. I hate that this is how you found out, but you saved me. Emmett saved me. That’s what matters.”
[Zach]
“Of course I am going to worry about it. No wonder your mother holds that grudge over me. I didn’t even realize...I was a coward Hope. I should have been there for you and Emmett. I never should have handed you over to him.” He tells her.
[Hope]
“Zach, you never knew about Emmett. You didn’t even know me. We had one week to fall in love, I can’t...no one can expect you to give up all you have known for me. I am happy now. All of that was worth it. So no you were not a coward. And I will never let you call yourself one.”
[Zach]
“That’s not an excuse you know. I know we did and damn I fell so hard for you. Being handed over to your grandfather by someone who wasn’t even able to do it without venom is not something I would consider worth it. It could have seriously hurt you and could have caused Emmett to die. That’s not..It’s just..” Zach struggled to put his thoughts into words but he was very much trying to do so.
[Hope]
“Exactly, you couldn’t have done it without my venom. I made you do it Zach. I made you pick yourself and I didn’t really give you any other option. So you have to blame me and I would do it again. I still wouldn’t ask you to pick me. And I wouldn’t let you. My parents didn’t pick each other and they are fine. We are fine. We are happy and we are in love. Why do you think that isn’t worth it?”
[Zach]
“What? No, that’s not what I mean. Him putting you through what you went through was not worth my stupid status with Jack at the time. I wasn’t worthy of you. I should have chosen you from the beginning. I should have known better Hope.” He tells her while brushing some stray strands of hair behind her ear.
[Hope]
“You chose me now. That’s what I care about. You are more than worthy of me now Zach. That’s what I care about.” She said as her eyes flashed blue. “So please stop putting yourself down.”
[Zach]
“Ah baby girl.” He tells her before pulling her closer to him. “I try to be worthy of you everyday and prove myself to you and your family. If I am worthy enough in your eyes then that is good enough for me.”
[Hope]
Hope hugged him tightly as tears fell down her face, “I have told you you are worthy. More than worthy. I don’t care about what my parents say. I know why they are a little hesitant but once they see what I see, none of that will matter.”
[Zach]
“I know baby girl but sometimes I think you are saying that just to make me feel better.” He teases before giving her a kiss. “I love you so much Hope.”
[Hope]
She kissed him back and smiled softly, “I love you too. More than you could possibly know.” She told him. “I would really like to go home Zach. I just...I want to be home.”
[Zach]
“Okay let’s go home then. We don’t have to be here if you don’t want to be. I trust you.” He tells her before taking her hand. “Let’s go home.”
