Past Para: Freeing Hope

Zach had gone back to the dungeon and noticed Hope’s state. Jack had been there he knew that for a fact. Jack had promised that he only wanted to do something to Misty and that Hope was all his to play with. The blood dripped down her legs, her bruised and cut up body in front of him. The handprints Jack had left on her hips from when he fucked her in the ass, his eyes flashed different colors as he was trying to fight the venom. The anger that was consuming him was something he had never felt before. Seeing her in that state, he wanted to go over and help her. Go over and tell her everything was going to be okay but his eyes flashed as he was conflicted with what the venom was telling him. 

She had tried to take away the love and affection he had for her with the venom and it might have just worked if another being didn’t get involved. One that knew how upset, how angry, and made them see themselves as nothing but a monster. The shadow lurked in the room before touching Zach’s. His eyes instantly returning to their normal color as he found himself walking over to her almost immediately. He untied her and gently put her down, his eyes still blackened. 

“Hope…I-I…” He didn’t know how he was able to act upon how he truly felt, he hadn’t even taken the time to really comprehend it. Seeing the state of Hope, what he allowed to happen. This was something he would never forgive himself for. “I am taking you out of here.” He knew it was risky to take her off the ship but he didn’t care. 

He snuck her off the ship and he brought her to a calm place with a waterfall. Zach had known there was an empty shack nearby with medical equipment. The male cleaned her off as best he could and tried to treat her injuries. His mind just screamed ‘monster’ at him. He kept mumbling about how sorry he was. Seeing her like that, he thought he had prepared himself but he didn’t. Nothing could have prepared him for how he found her. This broke him, seeing her like this…it broke him. 

Once he finished, treating her wounds and making sure she was cleaned up and given some sort of clothing he brought her to the castle and placed her somewhere where someone would find her easily but he would be able to sneak off into the night. He gave her a sweet kiss as he laid her down. “I am so sorry Hope. I am not worthy of your love. You don’t deserve a monster like me. I love you so much and I just…-” He had heard someone in the distance and he made sure that she was in as comfortable a position as she could be before he disappeared into the night.

Hope wanted to die. She begged Jack to kill her every day, to make the insufferable pain stop. Whatever message he wanted to send to her mother, she knew her death would mean more and it would also finally mean it was all over.

She saw the door open and her body instantly started shaking. She shook her head begging Jack to just not touch her again but she suddenly felt Zach’s hands taking off the ropes and setting her down on the floor. She curled up in a ball and cried out in pain as everything hurt. Every muscle and every breath felt like a thousand knives stabbing her over and over. She listened to Zach’s words but she couldn’t say anything as she felt him picking her up. 

She felt him placing her next to a waterfall and screamed as he started trying to clean up her wounds. Her body twisted in pain as she tried pushing Zach’s hands away from her body. “I…it….hurts.” She struggled to say. Hope was beyond confused as to why Zach was doing any of this. She didn’t know if he meant anything he was saying since the venom she gave him was strong enough to make him not feel anything for her. “Please….s-s…” Her voice trailed off as she felt him picking her up again and placing her down in a clearing.

When she felt him kissing her she looked at him in absolute confusion before hearing his words. She shook her head and grabbed his hand to say something before she heard someone near them. Her eyes flashed bright blue as she could smell her father. She struggled to move and used what little remaining strength she had to stand up. “Daddy…daddy…” She cried out softly as she started walking toward him…or at least limping towards him. “Daddy…I…I’m…he…here.”

[Nibs]

Nibs had been worried about where Hope was and he was searching everywhere for her. When he finally heard her voice, he went over to her and he scooped her up carefully. “What happened?” He asks before smelling the scent of Jack all over her. His eyes blazing red. “That fucking bastard. I am going to fucking kill him.” He growled as he made his way through the halls to find Misty. “Misty!” He called out as he took Hope to her bedroom since he knew it would make her more comfortable to be there. 

[Misty]

Misty saw Nibs walking into the castle and quickly followed him to Hope’s bedroom before closing the doors behind her. She moved to close the blinds in the room and headed over to Nibs and Hope. She saw Nibs’ eye color and looked at him, Nibs I know you are mad but I need you to calm down for Hope. Your anger isn’t going to solve anything right now. Just for now, calm down. She told him before focusing on Hope and looking over all her injuries. “I can heal her but it might take some time…there are just so many…”

[Hope]

Hope couldn’t help but be worried about someone looking around where Zach had left her and finding him. She didn’t know if the venom had worn off but she didn’t want him to confess and then get killed. She wanted him to be alright. She saw her parents looking over her and grabbed her mother’s hand, “Please don’t leave. Please…I want you both to stay…I don’t want to be alone.”

[Nibs]

“Okay I will be here to help you regain your energy back then. I am not leaving your side.” He tells Misty as he looks and notices that her wounds were also wrapped and treated. “Someone…Jack would never treat her wounds. Someone else was here.” He says wanting to go and search the grounds for who had left her there. When he heard Hope’s words though, he stopped. “Yes of course we will stay.” He turned to the guard and told them to look around the kingdom grounds to find who left Hope there. 

[Misty]

Misty saw the bandages and looked at Hope, “Um I’m going to take your clothes off.” She said to Hope, not wanting to ask about who was with her. She carefully raised Hope’s arms to remove her shirt and looked over the bandages. “Nibs will you get Hope some water?”

[Hope]

Hope heard Nibs tell the guards to look for who had left and she shifted as she shook her head, “Daddy it…it was some siren…from the e camp. They…they helped me.” 

[Nibs]

“Why would they have left you there after that? We should be grateful to them. They saved you.” He says before nodding his head, “Yeah I can get you some water.” He tells her before leaving to get some water for her. 

[Misty]

“Hope,” Misty said as she saw Nibs leave. “Do I need to have the doctor look you over? Privately?” She asked Hope quietly.

[Hope]

“They were scared.” She lied before hearing her mother’s question. She nodded without saying anything, “Please don’t tell daddy. Okay? Please, I don’t want him to know.”

[Nibs]

Nibs returned with the water and blood bags he brought it over to her. “Here, have some of this.” He tells her as he offers her the water and some blood for Misty and Hope to use. 

[Misty]

“Actually, I am going to get the doctor Nibs. I think it would be better if someone professional helped her.” She said as she stood up and took the blood from him. “It will be better that way.” She said to him. 

[Nibs]

“Oh, okay um did you want me to be there or…” He didn’t want to just invite himself but he did want to make sure that she was okay. 

[Misty]

“No…no I think Hope needs to do this one without us okay? We should try fixing up the castle to make it more comfortable for her. Fixing her guards and stuff.”

[Nibs]

“Right yes. We should work on that.” He says while going and starting to look over and make sure that everything would be in order.

[Misty]

Misty looked at Hope and saw her looking for something, “Sweetie did you need something?” She asked as she moved over to Hope.

[Hope]

“My phone…can I have my phone? I…I want to call Stiles.” She said.

[Nibs]

Nibs found her phone before handing it to her. “If you need anything else don’t hesitate to call us okay darling.” He offers her. 

[Misty]

She headed over to Nibs and took his hand, “Baby will come with me to get the doctor?” She asked him as she looked at him.

[Hope]

“Thank you.” She smiled before nodding, “Yeah…yeah thank you. I will call you after the doctor sees me.” She told them before dialing Zach’s number.

Around the Castle

Nibs finally made his way back upstairs before realizing that he didn’t smell Misty around anymore and his eyes glowed bright red. He downed a few bottles of alcohol. He asked the guards where Misty went and they had no clue. The male got angry as his eyes flared red when they couldn’t answer his question. He cracked the guards neck before staring at the others, “I suggest you do your jobs or else.” He snarled before shifting and eating the body. 

When one of the guards spoke up about how the entire party saw her in a maid outfit and his nostrils flared angrily. He walked over and ripped their heart out before noticing the others that the guard had pointed out and he ripped their eyes out. He knew that everyone at the party had seen what he had done. Turning his head to Zach, he gave him the signal. 

Zach shifted and scorched the entire room and watched as the lifeless bodies fell to the floor. “Clean it up.” He told the guards before ripping out their tongues so that they couldn’t speak. “Let’s go.” He told Zach before leading them out of the castle. 

He shifted before making his way to the lost girl camp. Nibs shifted back and noticed that they were attracting some unwanted attention. His shirt was ripped and he was covered in blood but that didn’t seem to phase anyone who came near him.

[Zach]

Zach had gone back to the party after noticing that Nibs called the babysitter out of the room. He knew what that would entail so he just stayed patient as he continued to drink and have fun at the party. One of the royals let their hand linger a bit too long on his arm but he didn’t notice and he knew Hope didn’t care because she was nowhere to be found. 

A few drinks in was more than enough for his inhibitions to be lowered enough for him to want to have some fun of his own. If Hope thought she would just get away with whatever it was, she was very wrong. She wants to have fun and make someone jealous then he could play that game too. When he saw what Nibs had done, he knew that this had to be contained. He rolled his eyes before shifting and scorching the ballroom to a crisp. He knew Nibs had magic so once the room was fixed, he noticed one of the guards eyeing him. 

“You are coming with us darling.” He purred before taking her hand and shifting. Once he did, Nibs told the girl to get on Zach’s back and she did. They made their way to the lost girl camp and Zach shifted back before putting the guard down. “You know what to do. Find her.” He told her as his eyes flashed different colors from the stress he was currently experiencing. 

[Nibs]

Nibs walked into the camp and saw Misty with Waddles. “What are you doing here? DId you seriously just leave after I came back from literally months worth of war compacted into one day? I know I said it was no big deal when I originally left but fucking hell Misty, I almost died today and I would have if Zach didn’t step in and save me so fucking excuse me if I don’t want to hear about you getting fucking pimped out by some god damn stripper you wanted to watch our children.” He growled before pulling her away from the group and into one of the nearby tents before she could protest against him. 

“I just wanted to spend time with you. I don’t want some fucking party I don’t give a fuck about the royals or the god damn party I just wanted to spend time with you. Just you. I don’t care about everyone else, I don’t care about them.” He growled as he started to repeat himself due to the alcohol starting to mess with his brain. “Why did you have to bring up some dumbass babysitter fuck that shit. We have nurses. I don’t want some dumbass stipper watching our children. What you want them to fucking being strippers too? Fuck no. and the fact you let him fucking touch you makes me so fucking mad.” He growled as he punched the nearby wall before pinning her up against another one. “You are mine. I think you fucking forgot that.” He growled before releasing his pheromones into the air. 

[Misty]

Misty looked up at the door as Nibs walked into her tent and watched Waddles leave before she stood up. “What? Then why did you keep saying that it was easy?” She asked before feeling him pulling her closer. “Nibs I just want to be around other people than girls, why do you think I’m in my tent and not partying.” She said before jumping as he punched the wall. “Nibs what the fuck?” She asked before he pinned her against the wall. “People get lap dances Nibs. I didn’t cheat. It was innocent and fun. I was having fun. That’s it. And I planned everything for you. Before you just pulled me into the room, I decorated the entire playroom for you and me and you just…fuck you. I am allowed to...to have fun.”

[Nibs]

“Because I didn’t want you to fucking worry. All the wars I go to are 10x more intense than actual wars. Wars take months in reality and these are months compacted into one fucking day. “Fine so you are fine if a girl gives me a lap dance then? I fucking didn’t think so. No, you aren’t allowed to ‘have fun’ while I am off fucking risking my life for a kingdom that doesn’t actually give a shit about either of us so you could imagine that makes me beyond fucking pissed off. I am so fucking angry that you just fucking thought it was nothing. That you could just walk away getting to have fun and a fucking lap dance from someone else. So you know what, you want to have fun so can I.” He growled before snapping his fingers. 

She was retrainted to her bed with magical ropes before he called out for the guard from earlier to come inside. He pulled up a chair before watching as the girl stripped off the armor she had on. “Give your king a lap dance and remember, it’s just for fun.” He told her as his eyes glowed red in anger as he looked at misty. 

[Misty]

“I always fucking worry Nibs. That’s all I fucking do. I worry about you, the twins, Hope, TJ. All I do is worry. So when you tell me not to, it gives me a break. I finally think, great something I don’t have to be concerned about so fuck you for lying to me. Just like you lied about what you did when we lost the baby.” She snapped before feeling ropes against her hands. She watched the girl give Nibs’ a lap dance and just rolled her eyes as she leaned against the wall. “I am sure I have a red outfit in here if you want it.” She told the girl before looking at Nibs. “What is this doing? What is this supposed to prove? You know I wanted you to get a mistress, to do that you would have to have sex with her. I am prepared for that Nibs. Because I would rather you sleep with someone else that can give you everything I can’t then look at me how you did that night.”

“For fuck sake Nibs, I was just trying to get Hope back for you. It was stupid lap dance that I didn’t even think about twice. But what I do think about is making you happy. I know you don’t like all the parties and balls, but I am good at throwing them. I am good at planning things and trying to make everything perfect. You didn’t come home to me pregnant Nibs...so yeah...I just...I just wanted to forget for a second. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I never do…” 

[Nibs]

“I know that you don’t really want me to get one so yeah let’s see how far we can push this until you realize you don’t actually want this.” His eyes voided as he told the girl to get on her knees. “You know no one can give me what you do, but if you want me to play along and pretend that I can get pleasure from someone else, if I can be happy with fucking someone else then I will do what you want.” He told her before snapping his fingers so that she couldn’t look away but that the restraints would release her if she really wanted him to not be with someone else. “Those will let you go the moment you acknowledge you don’t want me to be with someone else. The moment you realize that I want no one other than you.” He tells her. 

“You didn’t mean to hurt me but you did. I did come home to get you pregnant so that we can leave this shit hole of a kingdom. I told you this before I left and you still don’t seem to get it through your head so maybe this will help.” He tells her before shifting out of his clothes. 

[Misty]

“I am fucking telling the truth!” She snapped as her eyes flashed blue. “You want to prove that I feel so shitty about myself I would rather you be with someone else fine. Let’s do it. If this will make you believe me then fucking fine. I know you don’t want anyone else but I am supposed to be everything Crystal wasn’t and I can’t do that if I can’t be perfect for you. I am supposed to be kind and forgiving and a better wife. How can I be a better wife if I can’t even fucking stop making you go through miscarriages? I flinch when people touch me...I am so fucking disgusting that I just...I want you to be with someone who deserves you.” She said as tears fell down her face. Misty watched silently as wiped away her tears and just waited for it to be over.

[Nibs]

Hearing Misty’s words, Nibs sobered up and his eyes turned back to their normal color. He pushed the girl away from him before going over to Misty. “I don’t care about someone else. I don’t need you to be everything Crystal wasn’t. I fell in love with you and everything about you. Miscarriages are out of our control princess. No one else deserves me. I was waiting my whole life for you. We can work through the flinching thing. You know that is something we can work through together. That doesn’t mean that I want to fuck someone else or have a child with someone else. I know that it is tough but I don’t want anyone else to have my kids. Having a ton of kids isn’t even important to me.” He tells her as he removes the restraints, “I just want to share every moment with you. It doesn’t matter if they are painful or not. I know that in the end we are there for each other no matter what happens. I love you so much and there is nothing I want in this world more than you. That includes all the fears and insecurities you have, I accept them because they are part of you and I love all of you, even the parts you don’t love about yourself.” 

[Misty]

“I just want you to be happy Nibs. I have waited so long to have someone love me and I don’t want to disappoint you and all I ever feel like I am doing is disappointing you. You could have anyone and yet you picked me.” She said looking at him. “That means something to me. I want a big family, I want everyone to know I love you and that I am good for you. But I see the pain I put you through and I know you will never admit it, but you know you could do better. You could be with someone who doesn’t make you cry or have to get drunk to beat up Zach. Or feel like you have to surround them with the same sex so they won’t cheat...I just….you out of everyone on this island deserve a second chance and to be happy. That doesn’t mean it has to be with me Nibs.” 

[Nibs]

“You are my second chance Misty. I put you through so much pain when we were friends because I couldn’t accept that I was worthy of you. I worked so hard to make myself worthy of you when I finally opened up my eyes to you, who was right in front of me.” He tells her before brushing some stray strands of hair behind her ear. “You are my everything there is no second chance at happiness if you aren’t in it.” 

[Misty]

Misty’s eyes turned bright blue as she heard his words and she looked away from him, “I don’t deserve all that Nibs. You shouldn’t even want to talk to me because of what I have done to you. You shouldn’t forgiv-” 

[Nibs]

Nibs cut her off with a kiss as he kissed her passionately and brought her closer to him. “Stop dwelling on the past and what you think I want. I am telling you I want you. I am saying this from the bottom of my heart and no matter what you might think. There is no one that makes me as happy. No one that could make my heart beat so fast.” He tells her as he places her hand on his heart. “No one that could make me feel the way I feel I do for you, for anyone else. My heart was made to love you and that is what I am going to spend the rest of my life doing and nothing you say or do will convince me otherwise princess. I mean that.” 

[Misty]

Misty kissed him back before feeling him taking her hand and blushing brightly as she heard his words. “Even if I make you jealous on purpose you will still love me?” She asked, smiling softly.

“Mhm you know I hate to be jealous.” He purred into her ear before kissing down her neck. “I think you have something to show me back at the castle don’t you?” He smirked before gently biting down on her neck.

She moaned softly as he bit down her neck and smiled as she nodded, “But you saw the surprise, it won’t be the same now. I ruined it.” She pouted. “I should plan something else.”

[Nibs]

“You set up an entire room for me princess I am sure that we can figure something out.” He smirked before kissing her pout away. “Besides, we need to put this outfit to good use don’t we?”

[Misty]

Misty smiled as she nodded and kissed him again before pulling away. “Well first you should probably put some clothes on.” She told him. “Did you enjoy your lap dance at least?” 

[Nibs]

“Mhm I wasn’t paying attention, I was thinking about you.” He teases before snapping some clothes on. “I think that you should show me yours when we get back.” The male smirked before pulling her closer to him once more as they made their way out of the tent. 

[Misty]

She laughed softly as she walked with him out of the tent. “Should I tell Hope we are leaving? Or do you think it’s fine?” She asked as she looked at Nibs.

[Nibs]

“Hope is here?” He asks before sniffing the air. “Ah yes, we should probably tell her to go back. I know Zach isn’t very happy so I think he is looking for her.” 

[Misty]

“Oh well...then maybe...maybe I will just let her have fun. I will text her that I’m leaving and if she wants to go home she will. If not then...well…”

[Nibs]

“Mhm I think we should probably tell her then and make sure nothing fishy is going on. Zach would have told me if he found her...I think?” 

[Misty]

“Or maybe she doesn’t want Zach to know where she is. I mean if she did she would have gone home...maybe she is getting bored of Zach.”

[Nibs]

“Well either way, we should still check on her right?” He asks with the raise of a brow. “She is still our daughter right...I mean... she isn’t leaving right?” 

[Misty]

“No she’s not.” She smiled before taking Nibs hand and leading him to where Hope was. She saw her about to leave and stopped her. “Hey I’m going home. Are you coming or are you going out?” 

[Hope]

Hope turned to see her parents and she realized she hadn’t seen her dad since she told him they weren’t going to see her and she couldn’t stop herself from hugging him. “Hi daddy.” She smiled before letting him go and shaking her head. “No, I'm going to hang out with some old friends. I need space from Zach and Ombra and just….I just want to get away from that for a while. I’ll see you later.” She said before leaving the camp.

Misty managed to get away from royals and headed over to Hope and smiled as she stood beside her. “I see you brought him. Do you really think that’s a good idea?” She asked her daughter before seeing Hope’s face and laughing softly to herself as she looked toward the entrance. “I have the boat available for you as soon as you are ready to leave so you won’t have to do anything. Figured you would want to get out of here as quickly as possible and avoid the party.” She said to Hope.

[Nibs]

Nibs and Zach came back from the war. Zach had saved Nibs from being killed by certain hybrids of the other kingdom so Zach was left with some slower healing wounds which was fine. Coming back to the kingdom, they walked in and saw that there was a party for them there. Seeing Misty, he went over to her and picked her up and gave her a kiss. 

[Misty]

Misty smiled as she didn’t hesitate to kiss Nibs back. “Welcome home.” She said against his lips. “I have a surprise for you.” She purred in his ear. “For after the party of course.”

[Nibs]

“Oh you do? Mhm why don’t we leave the party and just go and do that now?” He asks with a smirk. “You know I hate waiting for my surprises.” Nibs purred seductively into her ear. 

[Misty]

“Where is the fun in giving it to you now? It is much better to watch you wait and beg for it.” She smirked before kissing him passionately. “I love you so much.” 

[Nibs]

“What? But why? That isn’t much fun for me.” He pouted cutely before kissing her back. “I love you so much too. Do I really have to stay for this party though?”

[Misty]

“Yes Nibs. You do. They planned all this for you so it would be rather rude for you to leave just to see what’s under my dress.” She teased him. “Will you enjoy your party for me please?”

[Nibs]

“Oh it’s under your dress? Now I have to know.” He smirked before pulling her out of the room. “I think that we should celebrate, they won’t notice us missing for a few minutes or so.” Nibs purred into her ear as he pulled her closer to him. 

[Misty]

She laughed softly as she felt him pulling her out of the room and into the hallway. “Nibs trust me...it won’t be a few minutes.” She smiled as she pulled away from him. “If we celebrate now, we can get it over with.”

[Nibs]

“Fine, we can celebrate for a bit but then I want to leave and just spend time with you. I already had to take part in the celebration before I left and it was just okay I suppose. I rather just spend it with you.”

[Misty]

“We will be spending all night together. Just you and me in our playroom. With me in a very very tight outfit ready to whatever you want.” She purred. “I wish you could feel how wet I am for you.” She whispered seductively in his ear.

[Nibs]

“Mhm I want to start spending all night with you right now though.” He pouts before pulling her closer. “Oh I bet you are dripping wet under that dress of yours.” Nibs pulled her out of the room before kissing her passionately against the wall outside.

She kissed him back and let her hands wrap around him as she pulled him closer. She certainly didn’t care if people saw them together and didn’t plan on stopping as she deepened the kiss.

He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom and shut the door behind them. He locked the door before ripping off the dress that she had on. “I don’t want to wait.” Nibs growled as his eyes glowed bright red.

She felt him picking her up and didn’t stop him as he took her to the bedroom. She bit her lip as he ripped off her dress revealing the maid outfit she had on. “Well...it seems like now you know what your surprise is.”

[Nibs]

“Oh princess.” He purred as he looked over the outfit that she had on. “Fuck.” His eyes glowed bright red as he pulled her over to the bed and pushed her onto it before climbing on top of her. Snapping his fingers, he stripped himself from his clothes as he grinded up against her. 

[Misty]

“Nibs...baby...wait…” She moaned trying to focus on what she was saying as he grinded against her. “I just...Ah...I have to tell you something.” She moaned as her eyes turned red.

[Nibs]

He stopped when he heard her words. “What? What is it? Is there something wrong?” He asks in concern.

“What? No baby, everything is fine. It’s not bad. It’s just if I don’t tell you now I will forget.” She reassured him. “I talked to Hope and everything is fine now. We had a moment and everything just sort of worked out. We realized...well I did that while Zach has many many faults he does make her happy so I can support that. And she promised if he does ever end up doing something to hurt her like he did before she would leave and I promised to not be so hard on him.”

“Oh I also hired a new babysitter. But that’s not really that important.” She smiled.

[Nibs]

“Wait what? Yeah I don’t believe that. You have had nothing sway your judgement on Zach before so why all of sudden does that change now? And since when do we need a babysitter? Hero is old enough to take care of himself and Charlie is almost at that age as well. I don’t think that they really need a babysitter.” He tells her. 

[Misty]

“I never said I like him. I still hate him and I don’t really think Hope has ever actually let him feel how much pain he caused her but...I also understand that no matter how hurt you are you can’t change how you feel about someone.” She said before shrugging. “There are other babies in the kingdom Nibs. And he is very good so I don’t think it will be a problem.” She told him.

[Nibs]

“Okay but if Hope and Zach are going away and taking a babysitter with them how are they supposed to stay here and watch our children? That doesn’t make sense at all.” He asked in confusion while looking at her. “What are you playing at hm?”

[Misty]

“Hope isn’t taking him on the trip, we are keeping him here until they come back. That way me and Hope can both have him. But I said it wasn’t important so can we get back to spending the night together.” She said smiling as she kissed his cheek.

[Nibs]

“Um I am sorry what the hell do you mean you can both have him?” He asked. “No, we don’t need one, we have nurses for that remember?” Nibs tells her. 

[Misty]

“Yeah but they are all girls. All you do is surround me with women and as nice as they are, I left the lost girl camp Nibs. I want to interact with other people. Of the opposite sex. And it would be good for the kids to be around more than just girls too.”

[Nibs]

“Our kids are mostly boys; they hang around each other. They will be fine, we do not need a sitter. I said no.” He tells her. 

[Misty]

“Yeah I was talking about me but like I said Nibs it’s really not important. So can we focus on the fact you are naked and I look like this, because this outfit is really tight and I did not wait around all morning wearing it so you wouldn’t enjoy it.”

[Nibs]

“Um it’s extremely important and I know it is because you are trying to say its not a big deal right before sex and you always try to pull one over on me like that.” He growled before going over to her. “You really thought you would be able to pull one over on me?” 

[Misty]

“I literally have no idea what you are talking about. I did that like once and I only did that because I wanted to go out and I knew you would say no and you don’t say no while we are having sex. It really isn’t important Nibs. If it was important, don’t you think I would have waited until you were in me to distract you? Not just say it now, you know I am forgetful. And if we are being honest, I use sex to make you less mad. Not to get you to say yes, I can do that without having to wear a tight ass maid outfit to make my boobs look good.”

Misty whines as Nibs’ pulled away and just rolls her eyes. “If you think I am not going I will. I have had this on for you for way too long and someone is enjoying it.” She said standing up and walking out of the room.

“Right, whatever. Of course you want to leave.” He mumbled under his breath and once she left he just punched a hole in the wall. “I just wanted to spend time together not fucking have to feel like I have to prove myself. Actually you know what. Fuck this.” He growled before storming out of the chambers and finding the babysitter. He commanded the guards to not let anyone into the dungeon after them. 

He dragged the babysitter down to the dungeon so that other people wouldn’t have to witness his anger. Zach wasn’t around so he figured this was his best alternative option. He shifted before ripping the babysitter to pieces. He punched and kicked the nearest prisoner as he really let his anger out before eating them                              . 

When he finished having his fit of rage, he fixed himself before going back to the bedroom and using magic to fix the walls. Then he went to the bathroom and took a shower. 

[Misty]

Misty walked down the hall in frustration before running into Hope. She watched Hope’s eyes look over her outfit and just sighed, “Your father is being an asshole. This is for him and I feel like I am being suffocated to death with all these stupid strings in the back.” She explained before shaking her head. “Where is Zach?”

[Hope]

“Hm well he is also being an asshole. So you know he is somewhere.” She said before sighing. “I just thought it would be nice for second to just be us again, but no Zach has to remind me Ombra is around. Like I don’t know that? Like I didn’t see Ombra use him to almost make you kill him.” 

[Misty]

“Well...I’m not going to say anything about that but all I will say is that having dealt with Ombra its a lot of work. It’s not just something easy Hope.” She said before seeing people looking at her outfit. “I seriously hate your father right now.” She said covering herself.

[Hope]

“Yeah I know. He had the audacity to say he didn’t want me to make him jealous, what about I don’t like the fact that...you know what no. No I’m not doing that because then I will get angry and want to rip something apart.” She said before looking at her mother. “Do you want to go somewhere? Like...away from here. I am assuming dad is upset about the whole babysitter thing too, so since they already are upset might as well have some real fun. I could have totally let that babysitter do whatever he wanted but did I? No. Fucking Zach. I want to have real fun and not wife fun and not to be creepy but like...I can see you know are clearly horny so like you should deal with that.”

[Misty]

Misty thought about Hope’s words and contemplated leaving and just nodded, “Fuck it. Let’s go.” Misty said before taking Hope’s hand and dragging her out of the castle.

Misty walked with Nibs into the ballroom and jumped as she heard people yelling Nibs’ name and saying ‘Long live the King’ over and over. She had no idea they were throwing a ball for him tonight and didn’t know there would be so many royals. She watched as someone walked up to her and thanked her for giving the king something to look forward to when coming home and touching her stomach. She smiled as she just flinched slightly, still not wanting to be touched by anyone who wasn’t Nibs. “No problem. I am glad our King is so happy to have another baby.” She smiled.

[Nibs]

Nibs was startled when he heard people chanting his name when she brought him into the ballroom. When he saw someone coming up to her and trying to touch her stomach, he protectively stood in front of her. “Thank you. We are too.” He tells her before bringing Misty over to the side. “You didn’t plan any of this did you? I thought it was going to be just us for when I went away for a bit?” 

[Misty]

“No of course not. I know how much you wanted to just be together, I didn’t know this was happening. And if I did I certainly wouldn’t have made the focus point a nonexistent baby.” She told him quietly. “They just want to congratulate you Nibs.”

[Nibs]

“Yeah, I know princess. When I get back we can change that.” He reassures her before bringing her closer and giving her a kiss. 

[Misty]

“No Nibs we don’t have to.” She told him before kissing him back and smiling as she pulled away. “Really Nibs, it’s alright. We just had Charlie. I was asleep for way too long, a baby isn’t a priority.”

[Nibs]

“I know but I don’t want the kingdom to condemn you for what happened. It’s not your fault and I hate to see them persecute you for something out of your control.” He tells her. 

[Misty]

“Well once you come back, I will say the stress of the war affected me in ways I didn’t imagine and we will just tell the royals we aren’t trying again. Then they won’t have anything to say.” She said as she fixed his hair.

[Nibs]

“If you are sure then we can do that.” He tells her as he holds her close. “I know it’s just a day but I am going to miss you.” 

[Misty]

“I am going to miss you too, but once you get this over with you can come back to me.” She smiled at him. “You should enjoy your party baby.”

[Nibs]

“I don’t want to enjoy the party. I much rather enjoy time with you and Charlie before I go.” He tells her with a pout.

[Misty]

“I’m right here with you, and Hero is here too. You can see Charlie after. They put in all this work, we might as well enjoy it.” She smiled as she rubbed noses with him.

[Nibs]

He gave her a kiss after she rubbed his nose. “I suppose...we shall stay for a bit but then it’s just you and me and the kids of course.” He smiles. 

[Misty]

She kissed him back before nodding, “Of course.” She smiled before pulling back so Nibs could enjoy his party. 

[Nibs]

Nibs spent some time greeting royals and etc. One of them offered him a drink and usually he would say no but they pushed him to do it so he did. He took the drink and had some to help with the nerves. After a while, he went over and found Misty. “Okay I am officially partied out. Anymore partying and I might end up tired and that’s not a good thing.” He teases.  

[Misty]

Misty watched Nibs leave before being cornered and feeling a tad bit uncomfortable until she heard Nibs’ voice, “Oh thank god.” She smiled. “They keep trying to touch me and I would just like to leave.”

[Nibs]

“Mhm I think they know better than to try to touch you. Only I can touch you.” He smirked before giving her a kiss. “Come on, let’s get out of here then.” Nibs takes her hand and leads her out of the ballroom. 

[Misty]

“They keep trying to touch my stomach. I can’t remember them touching Charlie that much.” She said before kissing him back. “Okay.” She smiled before following him. 

[Nibs]

“Well I am sure Charlie would have scared them off.” He jokes before leading her back to the bedroom. 

[Misty]

“Oh right.” She laughed softly as they walked into the bedroom. She took off her crown and set it down as she removed her heels. “Where did you go last night?” She asked him.

[Nibs]

“What? What do you mean? I had a few drinks then came up and joined you.” He tells her before removing his crown and the formal wear he had on. “Mhm much better.” Nibs turned around without any clothes on and just ran over to the bed and sprawled on it. 

[Misty]

“Oh yeah...I must have been asleep.” She said as she reached around her and started untying the strings on her dress. “Sorry I forgot.”

[Nibs]

“Are all those strings really necessary? It just looks like how you tie a shoe but you know...just on your body. It used to take me forever to lace up my shoes until Peter taught me.” He explains as he watches her start to undress. 

[Misty]

“It just holds everything together, and it also makes my boobs look good so win-win.” She joked as she slid out of her dress. She grabbed her dress and moved to hang it back up in the closet.

[Nibs]

“Oh I know it does. It’s very hard not to look whenever you have those dresses on. They tempt me so much.” He purred. 

[Misty]

She laughed softly as she heard his words and leaned against the door as she looked at him, “I don’t think the king is supposed to be looking down there. My eyes are up here.” She teased him.

[Nibs]

“Mhm your eyes are up there but mine are elsewhere princess.” He smirked before motioning for her to join him on the bed. “I think there is something wrong with this picture. Why do you have more clothes on than me hm?” 

[Misty]

She bit her lip as she moved over to the bed and moved to straddle him. “If you don’t like it, you should do something to change that.” She purred.

[Nibs]

“I think so too.” He smirked before ripping off the rest of her clothes and disposing them onto the floor. “Mhm, come here.” Nibs pulled her closer to him and gave her a kiss. 

[Misty]

Misty didn’t hesitate to kiss him back passionately and grinded down against him. “We shouldn’t be doing this...you have to leave soon.” She said against his lips.

[Nibs]

Nibs heard his phone going off and he saw that it was Hope. “Hope is calling? Hold on.” He answered the phone and heard her words, his eyes flashed blue as he heard her words. “Hope wai-” She had already hung up the phone on him. “She is leaving the family because we don’t like Zach. We won’t be seeing her anymore.” 

[Misty]

“Nibs that doesn’t make sense, you like Zach. We have fought over that fact over and over. So why would she say we? I don’t understand?” She said in confusion. “She didn’t say any of that last night and the fight happened last night.”

[Nibs]

“She said that she knew all about the fight I had with Zach last night. I might have gotten drunk and said a few things. I might have threatened him if he tried to pull what he did yesterday again...I don’t remember much of it, I just remember being so angry.” 

[Misty]

“What? Why would you do that? You said you were-” She stopped as she remembered last night and sighed as she looked at Nibs. “Because I said I blamed him, you went and threatened him? Nibs...you didn’t have to do that. I was drunk I wouldn’t have remembered either way.”

[Nibs]

“I wasn’t thinking last night. I was so upset that you were so sad. And normally he helped me cope with the whole anger thing. I know I didn’t have to but I wanted to. I know about the fear of losing children and I don’t want that to come back for you Misty. I was so upset. I just kind of lashed out at him.” 

[Misty]

Misty stayed silent as she listened to Nibs words. Sometimes she wished she didn’t worry him so much and just bit back her words and smiled, “I’m not scared. So I will talk to Hope while you are away and everything will be fine, okay? I understand you were sticking up for me. So don’t worry about it.”

[Nibs]

“Are you sure? I mean, maybe she just needs some space away from us. I mean….she would come back right? She is our daughter after all.” 

[Misty]

“Nibs we are talking about Hope...and she called you to tell you she wasn’t seeing us again. I don’t...I don’t think this is just one of her fits…”

[Nibs]

“I don’t know we should figure out all of this when I get back. I don’t think that this is something that we can really fix right now. Just...give her space is all.” He tells her. “She always comes back doesn’t she? She wouldn’t just leave us forever…” 

[Misty]

“Sure Nibs...sure.” She smiled before climbing off him and picking up her ripped clothes to throw them away. “You should go see Hero and Charlie before you leave. And probably call the twins.”

[Nibs]

“Yeah I will. I should go and see them now.” He tells her before putting on some clothes and then seeing Misty picking things up. Walking over, he goes and gives her a kiss before leaving to see the kids.

Finding Zach

[Nibs]

Nibs had grabbed a bottle of alcohol himself before making sure Misty was asleep. The place was charmed so he knew she was safe there. He had finished what he grabbed and he got another bottle before leaving the tent. He sent Zach a message saying that he needed to talk to him about something. When he got the response, he headed to the clearing where he told them to meet. 

[Zach]

Zach woke up in the middle of the night when he phone went off. He checked the message and noticed that it was from Nibs. Zach also knew that Nibs wouldn’t contact him in the middle of the night if it wasn’t important. Seeing Hope sleeping next to him, he promised he would tell her if he needed to go somewhere and he was going to keep that promise. He gently shook her awake. “Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I need to go and meet with your dad, something important. I will be right back, I just wanted to let you know.” Zach gets up and puts on some clothes before leaving. 

[Hope]

Hope opened her eyes to see Zach getting changed and looked at the time in confusion. She heard him mention something about her dad, but it didn’t make sense why he would want to see Zach so late in the night. She couldn’t really ask as Zach walked out the room and left, so she just got up and slid on some clothes before following him.

[Nibs]

Nibs had finished his bottle and he smashed it against the nearby tree. He was upset and angry. Had thiis stupid fued between Zach and Misty never happened, she wouldn’t have lost their baby. He was worried that this meant Misty would be scared to try again, that losing the baby triggered that fear in her. His eyes glowed red as he stalked around the clearing waiting for Zach to show up. 

[Zach]

Zach had started to head out before hearing Hope following her. “What are you doing? You should stay here and rest, it shouldn’t take too long. I have a feeling this might have something to do with the fight from earlier. And don’t worry, I can handle it okay?” He says as he turns to face her. “Stay here with the kids.” He tells her before giving her a kiss. “I am sure it is nothing.” 

[Hope]

Hope kissed him back and just shook her head, “No, why don’t you just come to bed?” She asked, taking his hand. “My dad can wait until the morning. If it’s about that stupid fight then he can wait. Seriously Zach, let’s just go home. You will see him in the morning.”

[Zach]

“This is still my job Hope. I will be back before you can even wake up in the morning okay? It won’t be that long. I will go hear what he has to say and then come back. I told you because you wanted me to tell you instead of just leaving. Just trust me okay. I will be fine.” He tells her. 

[Hope]

“I do trust you Zach, it has nothing to do with that. But fine…fine if you want to go then I will go home. But I am not going to bed until you come home, so if you don’t want a cranky wife in the morning then I suggest you come home sooner.”

[Zach]

“Yeah I can do that. I will make sure to return home soon.” He tells her before kissing her once more than then leaving the house. When he was sure that she was back upstairs, he headed to where Nibs told him to meet him. 

He stepped out into the clearing as he heard something rustling in the nearby bushes. Zach could smell that it was Nibs but he could also smell the alcohol on his breath pretty easily. When he heard something charging at him, he shifted mid air into his dragon form to keep from hitting the nearby tree. He huffed smoke from his nose as he stood his ground. 

[Nibs]

Nibs could smell Zach from a few feet away as he stalked in the shadows. He knew the other could sense where he was as well. He charged at Zach from his hiding in the shadows and headbutted him so that Zach was flying into the air. His claws dug into the ground as he turned to face the other, now fully in dragon form. It’s your fault. If you hadn’t upset her, she wouldn’t have lost the baby. He snapped before charging at Zach once more. Nibs knew that in his dragon form, Nibs wouldn’t really be able to do much damage but this was one of the ways Zach taught him to cope so this is what he was going to do. 

I stood up for you and you fucked it all up. You have hurt this family, you have hurt my daughter. Misty is right. Hope deserves better than you. You aren’t worthy of her. He growled before biting down on his leg. 

[Zach]

Listening to Nibs words, Zach could feel his eyes flashing different colors. He knew that Nibs was only saying all of that because he was drunk but still it hurt to hear it. To hear he wasn’t worthy of Hope, his heart broke a little inside. When he felt the other biting down on his leg, he simply kicked Nibs off of him and sent the male flying into the air. He had to keep his head clear. Nibs wasn’t in the right state of mind and now was definitely not a good time for them to be fighting about something like this. He watched as Nibs emerged from the trees in his human form once more. The dragon shifted back, his eye was black and blood was dripping from his mouth. 

“Look, I am sorry that you lost your baby but that isn’t all on me. Misty keeps pushing and doesn’t know when to drop a subject. She was doing it purposely and you know that you can’t take my side openly in front of her. So what is this really about?” He asked before spitting out some of the blood from his mouth onto the ground. 

[Nibs]

Nibs could feel himself being thrown off Zach and into the nearby bushes. He shifted back but his eyes were still red. “I don’t care if you two have some stupid feud. Misty heard him mentioning Zach and just hummed in response as she moved to drain the water. She stood up and grabbed a towel before wrapping it around herself. “I’m going to change.” She said before leaving the bathroom and going into the room.

Jay had gotten a message from Zach that things were bad at the kingdom so she grabbed Tootles and some of the shifters and headed to the kingdom. They met up with Zach and the devised a plan to go inside and they see Nibs on the floor and the nurses with Hero. 

Jay jumped into action and was quick to take Hero from the nurses as Nibs distracted them when he got up and locked the door to the bathroom after taking Hero inside with her. She had noticed he was really white and seemed as if he was sick. “You seem low on blood darling. I have something that will make you feel better.” She offered Hero some blood that Misty had put in a bottle for him prior. The baby made grabby hands and took the bottle happily and started to drink. 

[Tootles]

Tootles had gotten the alert from Jay and they were quick to head to the kingdom. When they got there and Zach told them the idea, they sprung into action. Tootles shot the guards that were heading to the room so that Jay could go inside and get Hero and get him to safety. 

He continued to take the guards down as they started heading to the room. When he ran out of arrows he pulled out his knives and started using those to make sure they never made it into the room.

Zach had seen Jay and Tootles arrive and he devised a plan for them to go and rescue Hero and Nibs. Tootles was to take care of the outside guards while Jay took care of Hero and Zach went to Nibs and took care of the nurses. 

He let his wings come out as they stormed the room and he took down the nurses before destroying the vials of blood that were there so the kingdom couldn’t use them. When Nibs told him to go out and help Tootles, Zach headed out of the room to help defend the room from the guards.

Nibs had waited for Zach to get into place so when they stormed the room, Nibs shot up and distracted the nurses long enough for Jay to take Hero to the bathroom and keep him there. 

He got hit by one of the guards in the room and he wolfed out and attacked the remaining guards with Zach before making sure that all the blood and information the kingdom collected on Hero was destroyed. He ordered Zach outside to help Tootles while Nibs went to go get Hero.

Misty had left the main hall and tried to make it back to her room. But she came across some of the guards before the room and she was starting to feel faint. She heard them mention the deal the queen told them about and she tried to back away before she felt them grabbing her arms. 

Misty fought as best as she could and managed to get away, but her dress was ripped and her body was covered in cuts and bruises. She walked into the bedroom and saw everyone there and she quickly covered herself.

Jay heard Nibs telling her to open the door and she went over and opened the door for him. “He is really pale. I think they took too much from him. I got him to start drinking some of the blood but I don’t know if it’s enough I think he needs more.”

Tootles saw the guards running after Misty and he called Zach’s name to get his attention. They both tackled the people behind Misty and started taking them out so she could go to the room.

Hope walked around the corner and moved back as she saw Tootles taking out some of the guards. She moved to snap one of their necks before moving over to Zach. “Hi baby, miss me?”

Misty listened to Nibs words and just nodded before leading the way out of the castle. She walked down the stairs and out and stayed silent as they headed home.

Hope didn’t understand what was happening but she took in her parents paleness and the scars on her mother’s body and knew something wasn’t right. She stood close to her mother and made sure nobody touched her.

“Mother...maybe you should stay somewhere for a while? I wouldn’t mind staying with you. We can go somewhere until...you are feeling better.”

Zach let Hope walk with Misty as they made their way out of the castle and to their own kingdom. “I don’t know if that is such a good idea. Hope what about the withdrawal and the kids?” He asks.

Nibs led the way before they arrived back at their own castle. “Hope you already have a lot on your plate. I don’t want you to have to worry about us. We will be okay.” He tells her. 

[Hope]

Hope looked at Zach and frowned as she thought about the kids. She missed them so much and she just wanted to be with Zach. Alone. “Zach I need to make sure my mother is okay.” She said softly.

Misty stopped to look at Hope, “Hope, go home. I will be fine.” She said before continuing to walk in the castle.

[Zach]

“That’s what your father is for.” He says before taking Hope’s hand. “Come on, let’s go.”

“Zach not until my father takes out this venom. I can’t do this anymore. I told you that and you promised to make the pain stop.”

“I could feel what you were feeling. I thought it was just from me fighting with the king but I see where it was coming from now.” He brought her over to sit down on a nearby bench. “You are tired. You should feed.” Nibs tells her before offering his wrist to her.

Misty sat on the bench and shook her head, “No I’m fine.” She said looking at him. “Hope...she heard...you-” Misty stopped and looked down trying to figure out how to tell Nibs. “When you were having your nightmare, you accidentally hit me. Every time we visit they have been finding a way to get it from you. I told Zach to not leave Hope’s side because I didn’t want them trying to take her blood. And if they found out she has my venom in her, they could weaponize that. He tells her as he hands her the vile. 

[Misty]

Misty took the vile and looked over it before handing it to Nibs. “Wow Nibs, you have done a lot of things but this is a little extreme don’t you think? They wouldn’t do that. They aren’t doing that.” She said getting up. “If you actually thought that was happening why would you let me come alone? Why would you do that? To get your proof? Stay away from me Nibs.” She told him before leaving him.

Nibs watched as the nurses put the blood that they took from Hero on the cart. It was in a container that was labeled with Hero’s name and each vile had a different number written on it. When the nurses saw that his attention was on the cart, he pushed past them and looked at each one. They had a trial number on them and they were starting to turn different colors.

“Something is wrong. What did yo-” His sentence was cut short when he felt a needle going into his neck causing him to fall to the floor. He saw them take Misty out of the room and pretended to pass out. The nurses turned their attention to Hero and he pulled out his phone to send a message since he was close enough to the crib to hide the phone.

I brought her something I made that I know is safe for her to eat. She can always talk to Leo later today but right now I am spending time with my wife and taking care of her. I understand you want her to be around Leo but she does not want to be around him right now and I am not leaving her side. I am not giving him another chance to make her relapse intentional or not. I can discuss with her if she feels comfortable being around Leo again but if she doesn’t I am not forcing her to. It’s already horrible enough she can’t express how she feels because of the venom and since she can’t say no to you because you are her mother, I will be doing that for her. She only saw Leo yesterday because you asked her to and had I not been here she would have taken those drugs. She doesn’t want me to leave her side and she is tired of you and Nibs fighting over her so today she is going to take a break from all that. If she doesn’t go there will be more repercussions then are necessary so move out of my way.” She said before looking at Zach’s neck. “Relaxation, hm? Three days, that’s all it was. That’s what you hired him to do.” She said before her eyes flashed green calming her down. “Fine…I need a second to get dressed. But you have to give Zach his job back. I am not going until you do that.”

“Oh please Misty you never fucking thought I was anything but a fuck up. I kept her from taking more drugs from someone you said was a ‘safe choice’. You are putting your daughter in direct danger with this kingdom and you know what, you can’t even fire me. Your husband hired me to protect Hope. I am doing my job and you have just always had it out for me from day one. You not caring what Hope wants is exactly why I listen to your husband instead of you. You were the one that said that what that prince could have done could have caused a war between your kingdoms or the countless guards hitting on you. 

You are not forcing her to be around this family any longer. Hope, you aren’t going to meet with that prince. I am not giving him another opportunity to get you killed regardless of what your mother says. I am tired of trying to please you Misty. I tried to because I knew that it would make Hope happy but there is no pleasing you. If it comes down to it. I will always choose Hope’s happiness and well-being over your orders.” He tells Misty as the embers start to float around them. His wings unfolding from his back to block Misty from getting to Hope and putting a wall between the two. 

 “This kingdom has insulted you, your image, your husband’s image, your daughter’s image and almost death. She isn’t a toy or bargaining chip, she is your fucking daughter. If this stupid kingdom wants a war because the prince got his ass handed to him because he threatened your daughter’s life then so be it. I am sure that Nibs would agree with me on this. This kingdom is so corrupted and you want it to corrupt Hope when she told you she didn’t even want to be here. She isn’t going anywhere and neither am I. You have to go through me.”

“I’m sorry Zach, do you honestly believe that my husband will keep you if I want you gone? Stop fucking trying to pin me and Nibs against each other. And I did hire you, Mark’s job was not something anyone could give except me. Mark’s position was literally to watch after me. But you would know that if you did any research on your job, Hope asked me to hire you and I did. “Corrupt her? Zach what the fuck did you do? I am so confused. I am so supposed to be mad at a kingdom that offered her drugs and not at the 18 year old who beat my daughter, had sex with my daughter, and then gave her to her fucking grandfather to be raped and beat. Misty watched Zach block Hope and just shook her head, “I am so fucking tired of this. Again you are fired and it will be a stroke of miracle if I ever let you into my home. My kingdom again, because let me make something very clear to you Zach. I am Queen. This is my birthright. Nibs was given his crown because of me, but I am the rightful heir to the throne and I will be damned if I let you act like that doesn’t mean shit. Hope, again, it is your choice but please make the smart one or I will do what I have to do.”

[Hope]

“Zach what are…” She watched as Zach’s wings blocked her from her mother. Hope’s eyes flashed multiple colors as she didn’t know what to do with Zach and her mother fighting before they settled on bright green. She placed her hand on Zach’s shoulders, “Please calm down Zach. Please, I don’t want this. This isn’t what I want at all.” She told him. 

“I don’t want anything bad to happen to you so please stop. It’s just breakfast…please stop Zach.” She said as her voice broke before she nodded. “I said I would go. I just need a second. I will go.”

Misty listened to Zach’s words and certainly wasn’t going to let them affect her and when she saw Ombra she stood strong in her stance unaffected until she heard Hope’s words and her walls crumbled. “No…Hope, it wasn’t him. He would never hit me. He never hit me.” She said to Hope. 

Her eyes flashed bright red as she heard it threatening Nibs and she couldn’t stop herself from reaching into Zach’s chest.

[Hope]

Hope backed away from Zach as she listened to his words. She didn’t understand why he would say any of that to her mother. No matter how much she hurt them, he knew how much her parents meant to her. “Zach stop. What are doing? What are you trying to prove? Just stop it.” Her eyes flashed multiple colors as she heard her dad had hit Misty, “Daddy didn’t do that right mom? He…he would never hit you?” She said mostly to ask rather than asking it as a general question.

She was trying to fight the venom inside her and it was causing her a lot of pain but when she saw her mother reach into Zach’s chest. “Mom stop!” She screamed before seeing that Zach was okay. “What…what…I don’t….”

[Zach]

“Go ahead, continue to lie to her. You pull out his heart, you kill your daughter and how much would Nibs just love to hear you are the reason that his daughter is dead. You want to be just like Ashton, well you are well on your way there Misty.” It growled before his eyes flashed as Zach fought for control. 

“No, stop! You would kill Hope. Misty stop!” Zach hissed as his hands went up to grab hers to keep her from ripping his heart out. “Don’t kill Hope. Don’t let it kill Hope! I don’t care if I die just don’t kill Hope!” He didn’t care about Misty killing him, he was more concerned about Hope being killed. “THOMAS!” His voice boomed through all the hallways before reaching Nibs. 

[Nibs]

Nibs was fighting with the king before he heard his name. The anger coursing through his body was becoming a lot and he sure hoped that Misty was not feeling what he did. His real name was the code for emergencies only. That was the code for if Ombra became too much. He ignored the king as he shifted and ran off to find where they were. Arriving at the room, he shifted and saw Misty with her hand grabbing Zach’s heart. The male quickly assessed the situation as he ran to Misty’s side. “Princess, you need to let go. His eyes, look at his eyes, he isn’t himself. He is fighting it, Misty. Misty you can’t let it win. Misty look at me.” He told her as he made her look at him. 

“This is what it wants. It’s feeding off your anger, don’t let it win. You are stronger than this princess. Please calm down for me. Please.” His eyes flashed multiple colors as he was in duress but he was trying to calm down Misty. “Princess, I love you so much please don’t do this. You know you are stronger than it. We are stronger than this. I love you so much princess, please.” He tells her as his eyes turn pink as he looks into her eyes. 

[Misty]

“Oh fuck you.” She growled squeezing Zach’s heart in her hand. Her eyes flashed black as her pureblood side begged to come out. Her veins turning black as her claws came out, digging deeply into Zach’s heart. Anger clouded her mind and filled her heart as her body shifted. “Shut the fuck up.” She snapped at Zach. She heard Nibs voice but ignored it until she felt him making him look at her. 

She looked at him and listened to his words before her eyes flashed back to normal and her body shifted back. She let go of Zach’s heart before pulling her arm out and holding it close to her. “I didn’t…I don’t…I don’t know why I couldn’t stop.” She told Nibs as her eyes flashed bright blue.

[Hope]

Hope felt her heart being squeezed and she grabbed her chest before falling to the floor when she felt something piercing it. Her eyes flashed green before she felt a huge pressure coming off of her heart. She took in a huge breath as tears dropped down her face. Hope grabbed her head as it was pounding due to everything she was feeling and unable to express. It was starting to physically hurt her and she didn’t know what to do anymore. “Make it stop. Please make it stop.” She begged softly.

[Zach]

Zach was fighting the pain that he was feeling and he felt horrible knowing that Hope was feeling the same thing but even more so that she couldn’t express it. He stayed quiet and fought to keep Ombra from doing anything by biting down on his tongue. Zach didn’t care at the pain that came from it because he knew it would just grow back but he was concerned for Hope. 

When Misty finally let go of him, he ran over to Hope. Hope, Hope I am so sorry. I tried to stop it. He tells her before holding her hand and trying to absorb some of the pain that she was feeling so that it would stop hurting her. His veins turned black as he pulled the pain from her body. 

[Nibs]

Nibs kept his focus on Misty since he knew that Zach would be taking care of Hope. “I know princess. It feeds that anger it makes you do things you didn’t even think possible. It’s not your fault.” He tells her as he pulled her closer to him when her eyes turned blue. “It’s okay princess. Just take deep breaths okay? It’s okay, you are okay.” He lets his fingers run through her hair reassuringly.

The Secret Garden

[Nibs]

Nibs took her through the forest before they arrived at a small clearing where there was a field of forget me nots and a small waterfall that was next to the medium sized pond. The water running crystal clear as they could see the various fish swimming underneath. There were a few stepping stones that they could walk across as well if they wanted to. 

[Misty]

“Nibs wait, I'm not wearing anything appropriate to go out in.” She told him before following him. She walked with him through the forest before seeing the waterfall. She followed behind him and looked around them at the field of forget-me-nots and smiled at the sight of them. “Nibs this beautiful.” She told him before letting his hand go to look at the pond.

She looked at the fishes before turning to him in disbelief, “How did you know about this place? We’ve never been here and there’s nothing like this on the maps anywhere. How did you find it?” She asked.

[Nibs]

“I might have sent a certain someone to scout out around the castle of the kingdom that we were going to visit you know just in case we wanted to get away from it for a while. So, when he told me about this place I thought he was kidding but then he was able to take me here and show me and well here we are. You didn’t really think that I was going to just let us stay in boring meetings all day did you?” He lets a playful smirk tug at the corners of his lips as he walked over to where she was. 

“I could see why they didn’t put this place on the maps. It’s so beautiful and secluded enough to not hear everything going on around. It’s almost like a small bubble of paradise.” He smiles. 

[Misty]

“It’s absolutely perfect. I could stay here forever and not care about a thing. It’s so rare to find one place that just makes everything else so small in comparison.” She smiled as she turned to look at the waterfall. “It reminds me of the garden you made for me back at home, though not quite as special of course.” 

[Nibs]

“Well I did try to make it a nice place so that we could escape from the castle without you know...leaving the castle. Time almost stands still here too much like how the island is. It’s a nice break from reality and the stresses of life. I did go to the garden the other day just to make sure that everything was still being taken care of while you were gone and some pink forget me nots started to grow. I don’t know if you saw them yet since I almost missed them myself but they looked so pretty.” 

[Misty]

“Pink ones?” She asked in disbelief before realizing how that might have happened. “You made pink ones grow for me didn’t you? I am certain I never saw pink forget-me-nots because they don’t exist so the only way they would be growing in our garden was if a certain lost boy made that happen. But he would tell me if he did that, wouldn’t he?” 

[Nibs]

“Mhm pink ones. After some trial and error I think I have been able to find a successful pair that can breed pink forget me nots. I had to do some research as well as use a sprinkle of magic maybe…” He teases playfully, “Maybe he would, or maybe you will just have to see for yourself when we get home.” Nibs smiles brightly. 

[Misty]

Misty smiled at him and shook her head, “Well if he did, words can’t begin to describe how thankful I would be. And how special I would feel.” She replied. She turned her attention back on the pond and bit her lip, “Now I don’t want to leave.” 

[Nibs]

“I mean we could always have our own private breakfast here. I might have made a small picnic for us in case you changed your mind. Oh and of course a change of clothes if you didn’t want to wear the robe anymore of course.” He tells her before snapping his fingers so that there was a small picnic set up in the small field of flowers. “See?” He shows her with a gesture of his hand to where he had everything set up. 

[Misty]

She turned to look at the picnic and couldn’t help but laugh as she looked back at him, “You knew I was going to change my mind. You did this on purpose.” She smiled as she went over to grab the dress Nibs picked for her. “I’m going to change, I’ll be right back.”

[Nibs]

“Maybe…” He teases before looking over at her. “Okay princess. I will get our breakfast set up.” Nibs walked over and gave her a kiss before she went to change. 

[Misty]

“Okay.” Misty smiled before kissing him back. She went over somewhere not too far Nibs, but shielded her in case someone did happen to walk by. She removed her robe and slid on her dress. She left her hair down as she grabbed the robe and went back over to Nibs.

[Nibs]

Nibs got everything set up by the time Misty was walking back over to him. He stood up as he smiled when he saw her in the dress, “You look absolutely stunning princess.” Nibs couldn’t stop smiling as he offered her a place to sit down. 

[Misty]

Misty blushed at his words and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, “Thank you, it’s a lovely dress.” She smiled before sitting down beside him. She loved how the flowers surrounded her and she found herself moving closer to Nibs as she looked over the food he had prepared.

[Nibs]

“I think that it really brings out the color of the flowers around us don’t you think?” He smiles before getting a plate and handing it to Misty so that she could help herself to whatever she wanted from the selection of breakfast foods that he brought with them. “I tried to bring some of your favorites as well since well...the meals are probably not what you were used to at this other castle and because I obviously make much better food.” He jokes. 

[Misty]

“Yeah it really does.” She agreed before thanking him as he handed her a plate. She made her plate before laughing at his words, “You actually do. Everything here is a delicacy. It tastes so weird, but saying that would be very rude. So I am very happy you made my favorites.” She told him honestly before biting her lip as she looked at him. “Did you bring strawberries?”

[Nibs]

“Of course I brought strawberries, who do you take me as hm? Not bringing my wife’s favorite treat.” He laughs before reaching into the basket and pulling out the ripest strawberries from the garden that he had washed and brought with him. “From our own lovely garden of course.” 

[Misty]

Misty couldn’t help but smile excitedly as she saw the strawberries and kissed Nibs passionately before pulling away blushing. “Sorry...um...thank you. Thank you for the strawberries. They are...it’s perfect.” She said shyly as she took the strawberries from him.

[Nibs] 

Nibs kissed her back before hearing her words. Seeing her get all excited about the strawberries was adorable and even caused him to blush a little bit as well. When she got all shy, Nibs couldn’t help but to smile before letting his hand move to the back of her neck as he pulled her closer for another kiss. 

[Misty]

She smiled as she saw Nibs blushing before feeling his hand moving to the back of her neck and him kissing her again. She wasn’t used to Nibs kissing her like that, but she couldn’t help but find it extremely attractive. She forgot all about the strawberries as she let her hand come up and cup his cheek as she kissed him back.

[Nibs] 

Nibs could feel his heart fluttering in his chest again just like how it did when they spent time together before. His cheeks were probably burning red with blush as he continued to kiss her and only break it so that they could both take a breath. “I brought some chocolate for the strawberries.” He smiles. 

[Misty]

Misty felt him breaking their lips apart and took the time to catch her breath. She smiled happily as she bit her lip and nodded, “Thank you. I really appreciate it. I missed having strawberries while I was sleeping.” She joked. She knew she was supposed to pull away but she stayed close to him as she let her thumb affectionately rub against his cheek.

[Nibs]

“I would bring some with me sometimes when I was by your side since they reminded me of you. Although I think the chocolate definitely tastes better on you but maybe that is just my preference.” He smiles as he lets out a small laugh. 

[Misty]

“You think so?” She purred against his lips as she bit his bottom lip teasingly. “I always thought whip cream tastes better on you.”

[Nibs] 

“Oh? Well do you think that I brought some whipped cream with me?” He teases with a playful glint in his eyes as his lips brushed against hers teasingly.

[Misty]

“I would hope so.” She teased him back as she smiled. She pushed his hair out of his face and kissed his cheek, “I never mentioned how much I like your hair.”

[Nibs] 

“You are right I did bring some.” He tells her with a smile as she kisses his cheek. “You do? I figured that you love it because you love to tug on it during sex.” Nibs smirked teasingly. 

[Misty]

Misty blushed at his words and playfully shoved him, “Nibs what if someone hears you. And I don’t...tug on it...so you should get your facts straight.” 

[Nibs]

“We are the only two here darling who else would possibly hear us?” He teases. “You are right, you let your fingers run through it.” He smirked 

[Misty]

“I don’t like when you call me that. What happened to you calling me princess?” She asked, looking at him.

[Nibs] 

“Mhm you are so spoiled aren’t you princess?” He jokes teasingly before giving her a kiss. 

[Misty]

“I am not spoiled.” She pouted before feeling him kissing her. “Do you not think I am your princess anymore?” She asked.

[Nibs] 

“You are and always will be my princess, don’t you worry about that.” He teases as he kisses the pout away. “You know I can’t resist you when you pout like that.” Nibs puffed out his cheeks cutely. 

[Misty]

“You don’t call me that anymore...so I didn’t know if you meant it anymore.” She told him before kissing him back. She saw him puffing out his cheeks and couldn’t help but smile.

[Nibs]

“I don’t want to over use it, I thought you might get tired of me calling you that all the time.” He tells her. “Of course I mean it when I say it to you.” 

[Misty]

“I love hearing you call me that. You always have. At first I didn’t understand what you meant because I didn’t agree with the name...but it hurts when you don’t call me that.” She told him. “I miss that Nibs...I want that back.”

[Nibs] 

“Then I will constantly call you princess, princess.” He smiles before giving her a gentle kiss. “Now how about we eat some breakfast and enjoy the view princess.” 

[Misty]

“Okay.” She nodded before turning her attention to the food. “What time is it by the way?” She asked as she started making her plate.

[Nibs] 

“It is about 9:30am.” He says as he checks his watch. “I am sure they are all getting ready for breakfast, so we still have some time to be here ourselves.” 

[Misty]

“Hm I should make sure Hope is actually going to breakfast. I heard she didn’t go to dinner so I just don’t want there to be any problems. They could say it’s rude and take it as a sign of disrespect.”

[Nibs] 

“I am sure she will go to breakfast. Zach usually always makes sure that she has something to eat.” He tells her. “But if you want us to go and make sure they are there then we can do that.” 

[Misty]

“She didn’t eat last night.” She pointed out before looking at him. “I don’t want to leave, but I know we have to. We have to be responsible.” She frowned.

[Nibs] 

“That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have brought her some type of food.” He tells her, “But I can see your point. Maybe we could come back here later tonight? Have some dessert before you head to bed?” He offers up. 

[Misty]

Misty frowned and sighed as she nodded, “Yeah we should go. I haven’t been able to see Hero as much as I would like and I have meetings as well…” she replied. “Thank you for bringing me here. It was beautiful.”

[Nibs]

“I am glad that you enjoyed your time here with me. It was a nice break from everything else.” He tells her before he got up and offers his hand to her to help her up. 

[Misty]

She took his hand and stood up before fixing her dress. “Um about...what I said earlier. In the castle...I did mean it Nibs.”

[Nibs] 

“And I meant what I said earlier too. I don’t want a mistress. If you want me to find you someone else to be your...if that makes you happy. We can discuss it.”

[Misty]

“Would you stop doing that? Why do you always do that? If you don’t agree then say that. You always tell me stop acting like everything is fine, but you do it all the time.” 

[Nibs]

“What do you want me to say Misty? I have already told you every since time that I am not fine with someone else being with you. I wasn’t fine with the whole Dylan thing but it still happened so what is it that you want me to do? If I say no, then I am being too controlling but if I say yes I am not fighting for you. I don’t like saying no because I know it makes you unhappy so what is it you want me to do?” 

[Misty]

“I want you to be honest. Haven’t you seen what lies have done to us? How many times are you going to wish you would have done something? I am asking you to be honest, but if it doesn’t matter to you then forget I asked you anything. I will do whatever I want and you will just deal with it.” She replied before walking past him to head back to the castle.

[Nibs] 

“I was being honest. I don’t want a mistress and I sure as hell don’t want you to sleep with anyone else. I also don’t want us to make any more deals with this kingdom. I don’t trust them. I didn’t want you to come here alone but I respected your wish to stay home, at least for a bit before coming here. You wanted space and I gave it to you. I told you I don’t want you to mess with our daughters love life right now since I know she is still in a very fragile state but you didn’t seem to really care much about what I thought or told you when I was being honest with you and it caused a fight and I hate fighting with you.” He stopped her from leaving. 

[Misty]

“I haven’t done anything to Hope. I haven’t even seen her so I don’t know what you are even talking about. You didn’t come because you asked if I wanted you to and I said no, if you would have never said anything I wouldn’t have either. And Zach came, me not wanting him here didn’t affect that. So you not coming was something you decided to do. And I don’t want to have sex with anyone else either but I am tired of waiting for you to show up. This whole week you have brought up the past and every time you did I realized how much we changed and not in a good way Nibs.”

[Nibs] 

“I was respecting your choice in not wanting me to be here because you wanted space, remember?” He asks. “You wanted a few days away from me because of the fight. Zach came because he promised Hope he would come. What are you talking about waiting for me to show up? It’s literally been two days? I didn’t want to bring up the past. You were the one that kept bringing up Ashton even though I told you I hated talking about all of that. I was trying to see if I could help you to see why trying to get Hope to fall for someone else might be a bad idea since she has already imprinted. I literally saw her imprint on him, he almost died and you just wave it off as being something similar to Ashton and it was two completely different situations.”

“Look, I am tired of fighting about the past and adding someone else into the relationship isn’t going to help either of us. That might be how they do things here but that is not how we do things in our kingdom. You said you were tired of sitting back and not doing anything but what you want to do can literally get her killed and I don’t think you realize that or you just don’t take it seriously or try to use my past as an excuse as to why Zach isn’t a good fit for her. They are married. Hope is happy. She isn’t a child anymore and yes she is still learning through everything but it’s like you said, we can’t force her to do something we can only be there to catch her when she falls. Do you remember when you told me that?” 

[Misty]

“Maybe it’s not about her Nibs. Maybe...fuck...maybe I don’t want her to wake up one day and realize that she has a list of responsibilities and that’s not enough to make her happy. Maybe I don’t give a shit about Zach. I will never like him, ever. Nothing you or Hope do will ever change that but I don’t give a shit about him Nibs at all.” 

[Nibs] 

“Is that how you feel Misty? Are you projecting?” He asks knowing that Tootles had told him about what that meant before. “She doesn’t need the list of responsibilities to make her happy. That is why she has Zach, I know you don’t like him and I don’t care if you don’t like him but they are not like us. But he makes her happy and that is all I could ask for.” 

[Misty]

“But you aren’t making me happy.” She said before stopping and running her hand through her hair. She moved away from him and towards the pond. “Fuck Nibs.”

[Nibs] 

“What are you talking about? What do you mean? We were literally starting to plan our wedding a few days ago, an actual proper wedding. We spent your heat together away from everyone else. I set all this up for you so you could get away from all the stress of the meetings. If I am around you too much I am suffocating you but if I am not around you enough I am neglecting you. What is it you want me to do Misty. You know that if you tell me I would do it.” 

[Misty]

“I don’t want to have to tell you anymore Nibs. I am so tired of telling you what to do. Stop acting like before I went to sleep we were okay, we weren’t. We had to spend my heat together, I can’t go through it without you. That’s not a sign of...when was the last time I gave you butterflies?”

[Nibs] 

“A few seconds ago when we were having our picnic. I am sure you could tell by the embarrassing amount of blushing that covered my face, which I know I did not do a very good job of hiding.” He semi-joked. “If it was just us without all these responsibilities we would be able to do more without having to be in a constant state of worrying all the time. I set up the cove so we could get away from the castle and those responsibilities when the time comes. I know that it is uncertain and I know it is harder with everyone throwing their judgements everywhere but I am trying you know.” 

[Misty]

“Nibs...I meant before today.” She replied before wrapping her arms around herself. “I know you are trying Nibs. I am trying to. But we aren’t just us. We are parents and rulers of a kingdom and our responsibilities will never end. I just miss being me.”

[Nibs]

“When we were talking about our wedding plans. I could see how excited you were to talk about them and it reminded me of when we were back in my tent talking about what our future weddings would be like. I know, I miss being who we used to be before the castle and everything else.” He pushed his hands into his pockets. 

[Misty]

“Me too Nibs. I love our kids but sometimes...I just want to go back to who we were before all of this. I miss waking up and feeling...I don’t know...I just miss the slow burn between us.”

[Nibs]

“I do too. I miss the cute sneaking around we used to do too. Or when we would sneak away to the sanctuary and spend time with each other just taking care of the animals.” He smiled fondly at the memory.

[Misty]

“I want to go back to that Nibs...I can’t do this anymore. I’m not happy like this.” She told him honestly. “I’m just not.”

[Nibs]

“The only option we would have would be giving Hope and Zach the throne and I know how you feel about Zach but if we want to be able to do what we want. That seems to be the only option seeming as Hero is not old enough yet.” 

[Misty]

“No...just no. I can’t give it Hope and Zach. Hope would never be able to handle it. I can’t do that to her.” Misty says before sighing. “I have to make sure Hope goes to breakfast. We can talk later, Nibs. I have to go.” She replied before walking past him and going back to the castle.

[Nibs]

“I know. Well wait, why don’t I walk you back? You might get lost along the way you know. And we can’t have a lost princess running through the forest now can we?” He smirked before taking her hand as they made their way to the castle. 

[Misty]

She felt him taking her hand and smiled softly as she walked with him back to the castle. Once they made it there she let go of his hand, “I am going to go to Hope’s room. I will see you later okay?”

[Nibs]

“Okay. Um there is also something I need to talk to you about when you have some time. It’s not extremely important, just something I have been looking into.” 

[Misty]

“Oh, okay...well after I come back we can talk yeah?” She offered. “Unless you needed to say it now?”

In The Morning

Nibs had curled up outside of Misty’s room since he was staying guard there and the other guards didn’t dare mess with him since he was in his wolf form. He was having dreams as his paws twitched lightly and he softly snored a bit when he started to drift off. 

[Misty] lol 

Misty woke up and a familiar scent hit her nose. At first she thought she was dreaming or imagining it but she figures she should still go check. She grabbed her robe and slid it on before opening the door. She looked down and saw Nibs and just sighed before shaking him awake. “Nibs. Nibs wake up.”

[Nibs]

Nibs had been peacefully sleeping before he heard Misty’s voice and felt himself being shaken awake. He shook his head before standing up and shaking the rest of himself and stretching. Oh hey. I thought you would still be sleeping princess. Did you sleep well?

[Misty]

“What are you doing here? You agreed not to come. Why are you here?” She asked. “I was handling everything by myself. Who is watching the castle Nibs?”

[Nibs]

The king called me here last minute. Said it was urgent and you seemed a bit too exhausted after yesterday and that you should rest. So here I am. The kingdom is fine. I have a temporary proxy over there while I am here. I won’t be here for very long, don't worry. Besides I wanted to come and see you. I know we didn’t really leave on the best of terms and I wanted to make sure you were okay with everything here.

[Misty]

“I said I am so I am. Why would you...did you leave that article here? That’s why you are here. You think I am over here cheating on you. I am not. I was talking to him, did I appreciate the attention? Yes I did. It was nice and it felt...it felt like how it felt with you at the beginning. But I didn’t kiss him or anything so if you are here for that please leave.” 

[Nibs] 

Nibs shifted back. “No, I am not thinking that. I came here to check on you like actually check on you and make sure you are okay. They want to flirt, sure okay, they can do that I know you can look out for yourself. But the king actually did call me here for something and I took care of it last night. I was going to leave in a few hours but I did offer to take a few of the meetings off of your hands so you could have some time to, you know...relax a bit. I know how draining the meetings with them can be.” 

[Misty]

“I don’t need you to take care of me anymore Nibs. I am fine on my own. I can handle the meetings, I can handle the king and the things that come with that. I have to know what being without you is like so please leave. I asked you not to come and I meant that. The king shouldn’t have called you, I was doing fine.” 

[Nibs]

“I know but that doesn’t mean I can’t ask you how you are. Why would you need to know what being without me is like? You already did all that when you wanted the divorce the first time remember? You were on your own and all that. I figured you might want to sneak away for some breakfast or something to help destress if anything but if you don’t want to then I am not going to force you to. I will just ask our daughter if she wants to have breakfast instead.” 

[Misty]

“No you will go.” She told Nibs. “Hope is having breakfast with Leo and she doesn’t need you to remind her to eat. Nibs...I just...I...I really don’t want you here. The Queen here is right and I think we need to change things between us, so I am asking you to go home. Because I don’t need you here and neither does Hope or Hero. They are fine. So I will see you at home tomorrow and we can talk then about...us.”

[Nibs]

“What are you talking about? Can you stop saying that everyone is fine because I know for a fact not everyone is fine. What...you don’t want me here why? Are you growing tired of me or something? Looking for that thrill you were talking about...finding someone better? You think you can find someone like that here is that what this is about? Is that why you want me to go home? I heard the conversation last night about you thinking about taking that guard up on his offer to get away from the castle and last I remember someone did that you fell in love with them so I don’t see how you can say that is fine because that is not fine. You already know I hate letting you go on these trips alone, talking to other Kings that have no issues with sleeping around with others or Queen’s guards that want to fuck around because they can. It’s not something either of us really approve of nor like so why are we even bothering with this kingdom at this point. I don’t want Hero to think it’s just suddenly okay to start sleeping around just because everyone else is doing it. Our son deserves better than that. Don’t you think? Oram I wrong?” He asks in confusion since everything was rather confusing as of lately. 

[Misty]

“How do you even know about that? Who told you any of that? Wait...did...that fucking...so he can ask me to keep something from you but he tells you about that guard? Okay fine, no Nibs everything and everyone is not fine. I am not fine with you. I am furious at you and talking about what we used to be like reminds me of how dull and just...we don’t...we aren’t happy. I was put to sleep right after our fight and the only reason we didn’t finish it was because I felt bad about leaving you for so long, but it always seems like I am giving something up to please you. Leo gave Hope drugs and she was going to take it but Zach stopped her and Hero is the only one who seems to enjoy being here. But you what...so am I. There are also mistresses headed to our kingdom. There now you know everything.”

[Nibs]

“I know about it because I came here last night as soon as the king called me and I saw it for myself. What are you talking about someone can keep, what are you saying? Who wanted you to keep a secret from me and why would you agree to something like that?” He asks in confusion. “We weren’t dull? I don’t know what you are remembering but from what I remember we were anything but dull. There was always some type of drama in our lives. The whole star crossed lovers thing. That is not dull at all. I told you not to give things up to try to please me because I rather us talk about things instead of just assuming something would make me happy. What do you mean Leo was giving Hope drugs? You said you were going to keep an eye on her and that this Leo person was someone reliable.” He scrunched his brows together. 

“There is no way Hero is going to marry their daughter, no, no way in hell. This trip is done, our ties with this kingdom are done. We don’t need mistresses to do anything because I already told you I don’t want that. We don’t need to do it like the old kingdom because it’s a stupid system. We changed the kingdom for a reason Misty. It was to give our children a chance at love and make people’s lives better. I have tried to do whatever I can to make you happy and try to give things and suggestions you have a try but I don’t want anyone else. It feels too much like cheating and I promised I would never do that to you. I also very much would like to stay alive and not die, I think we would share that common interest unless your view on that changed as of recently.” He raised a brow as he looked at her. 

Misty]

“It wasn’t you Nibs. You made that perfectly clear to me this week. You kept saying Ombra was in you. How am I supposed to know when you started to be you with me. And I am not saying we were dull in the beginning. I am saying we are now. I only drop it because I love you Nibs and nothing I am mad about is worth it in the end, but I’m...I’m starting to think that that’s not enough anymore.”

“We are not leaving. Leo didn’t know Hope has an addiction and Hero is happy. I am not leaving Nibs. I agreed to not tell you because I don’t want war with these people. Because I am thinking about you. I know you will have to go and I know I won’t see you so I do want you home safe. Besides, I...I already made a deal with the queen and I am not going back on that because you decided to come when I specifically asked you to stay home.”

[Nibs]

“He was in me when I was with Ashton, not when I was with or around you. That was the irony of it all. You are supposed to believe and trust me. I don’t care if Leo didn’t know about it or not. That could have had severe consequences for her. I don’t care about not wanting a war, we have a fucking dragon. We could decimate this kingdom in a matter of hours. They don’t scare me, Misty. And what deal? Because I am pretty sure whatever this ‘deal’ is, is one you wouldn’t have made had I been here which is exactly why I should have been here and not stayed home. You tell me to stay home and do things you know would cause trouble or have consequences that might sound appealing at the time but eventually become something worse than what you thought it would be and that is just how life works out. You aren’t thinking about me when making some sketchy deal with a queen that has sex slaves and wants you to indulge in that life too. She even convinced you to send me mistresses which I specifically told you I don’t want around our kingdom. So what is this deal you made?” 

[Misty]

“We had sex when you were with Ashton. Multiple times. In your tent, in my tent, in the tent near the animal sanctuary. So you weren’t you with me, you still had Ombra in you. And if you use Zach to destroy this kingdom you leave us vulnerable to people hurting us in retaliation. You are going to kill a whole lot of people.” 

“I...the deal doesn’t matter Nibs. What does matter is that I specifically told you I don’t want you here. The way the king and queen live here isn’t that bad...I can understand it. I can see why the King has his mistresses and the Queen has her affairs. And I...I think we should do that.”

[Nibs]

“See no, you have been here way too long and now they are getting into your head. I don’t want mistresses nor do I need them. We are not like the other kingdoms and that includes the whole mistresses tradition. I don’t care if you don’t want me here. I was asked to come here so I am here. Well as long as they stay in line we won’t have to worry about any of that now will we?” He huffed. 

[Misty]

“I’ve been here two days Nibs, that’s not too long.” She sighed as she ran her hand through her hair. “Look I just...I just think it’s not so crazy Nibs. People fall out of love all the time and it’s perfectly normal to want to be with someone who can fulfill your needs sexually.”

[Nibs]

“So what you are saying is that you fell out of love with me and want someone else to please you sexually...is that what you are saying here because that is what I am registering from what you just told me. I don’t want anyone else and you know that. So I know that you aren’t implying this about me so who exactly does that apply to Misty?”

[Misty]

“I’m not saying it applies to anyone specifically...I am just saying it’s not such a bad idea.” Misty replied as she tightened her robe. “The king and queen here are married by title only and it seems to be working out quite well for them. They both brought alliances the other needed and now they are happy with other people.” 

[Nibs]

“Yeah and they aren’t allowed to be with those other people legally because they are married to someone because of a forced situation. We agreed that we would raise our children to believe that love is a choice that can be made not something that can be forced. So you want to add someone else to our relationship? Are you talking about asking Dylan back into the relationship again…?” 

[Misty]

“No, I’m not saying that. I don’t want Dylan...but I...I do want...I don’t know. I want to feel how I felt yesterday. How I once felt with you. I miss that Nibs...I just…I want to feel...something.” 

[Nibs]

“So you want us to basically do more exciting things? We can do that you know, we don’t need to put ourselves in danger to do that. I will admit that being parents has been rather well...routine at this point. I do miss deviating from the constant plans like we used to. We can always do that...you know...run away from here without everyone else.” He tells her before moving closer as he puts his hand against the wall next to her head and leans casually to the side and then leaning in and whispering into her ear. “How about we go somewhere I found not too far from here? It can be for a few minutes, and I can have you back before breakfast?” He purred into her ear. 

[Misty]

“I don’t know Nibs. It’s not necessarily exciting things and more just that feeling we had when we started to get together.” She replied before watching him move closer. She listened to his words in her ear and thought about it before looking at him. “Okay, but I have to be back before breakfast Nibs and I mean it. I’m not saying that so you can then not listen to me again.” 

[Nibs]

“I know, come on.” He smiles before taking her hand and making sure that no one was looking as he started to lead her through the hallways and down a secret staircase that Zach had told him about. He took them through the gardens and out a back way that took them through the gates that were not guarded.
