Zombies, Run! Venus Rising

I actually really enjoyed this AU. There were only a couple things I didn't care for, but that is always the case with any AU. (and any story in general tbh). Below are my thoughts.

Spoilers for Venus Rising AU

I expected most of the characters to die, so that didn't really influence my enjoyment of story.

Most of the characters felt really true to who they are, and their reactions in this universe seemed to really make sense for this situation they've been put in. The only exception was Peter.

Peter's roll felt so out of place. Why is he so whiny? Honestly it felt less like Peter and more like Ian. This was the only thing that I really disliked about this story.

I felt like the world was really fleshed out for being so short. It was cool to get a feel for the world, and it felt very real. I loved it.

They absolutely nailed Veronica's personality! Her whole arc felt like it honestly could have taken place in the main cannon.

I really liked the Red Coral. It was an interesting and a really cool organic zombie interpretation.

Disguising the infection as a Rosetta Stone was genius, but totally doomed Ellie. There's no way she would have ever passed that up.

Good for Ellie! Take Amelia down!!!

I loved seeing Steve Sissay in this story. I wish he could have blown more things up.

I'd like just ONE world where Peter gets to live happily ever after. I'm still working my way through the New Adventure stories, so hopefully in one of the other AU stories he will finally get to rest.

Poor Maxine never got to be a doctor in this world and never met Paula. It's very interesting that she ended up marrying Louise.

On the last episode, I swear every thing Maxine said gave me chills. I love her so much in this universe.

I choose to believe that Maxine and Five got out at the end and were not infected. I know they ended it on the "Reborn" comment, implying that she might be infected, but I'm going to say the only reason she said that was because the word had been heard so much recently and was an accurate word for the idea she was trying to convey. She is not infected and neither is Five. I will not be changing my mind on this point.

Zombies Run Virtual Race Chronology 2020 Update

This is a fan document.  Six to Start’s official stance is that all virtual races take place in or before Season 1.  But, If you’re a 𝓗𝓾𝓰𝓮 𝓝𝓮𝓻𝓭 and want to try to run or rerun the series in order (supported, please do), here is my personal chronology of Seasons 1 and 2, which is based on user o0yono0o’s post from a few years back.  I am condensing the training missions and races for each VR down to one line for sake of brevity.  The two absolutely non canon virtual races are Virtual race 5: Halloween!  run in october with the S2 Halloween missions Virtual race 9: Escape from Runaway Fairground* (see alternate placement below)

You may have noticed that Season 1 is now more crowded than a special episode of Doctor Who when they bring back a bunch of old Doctors to boost ratings.  Alternate chronology for a few races are below: Virtual race 6: Tactical Zombie division could take place between S2M14 and S2M34 due to the surprise guest star. Virtual Race 7: Tomorrow Island could have been a previous Runner 5 mission (Pre your arrival at Abel) or between S2M7 and S2M13 Virtual Race 9: Escape from Runaway Fairground could take place as a Fever Dream or Magical Journey between S3M43 and S3M49, as there are some parallel themes. Virtual Race 10: The Abel Manor Murders could take place between S2 and S3 (or S3 and S4) as a low stakes (for Janine) problem to solve.

I ran the Zombies, Run! Virtual Race today! I know I’m a day late and my time won’t count on the leaderboard, but I finally did it! PLUS I ran along train tracks, which was fitting

We as a fandom arent reading our emails

Buried at the end of that Zombies Run T-Rex email is the news that in the year 9 update of the app, they are going to be putting in all of the virtual races from past years.  Now it doesnt say they will all be  FREE to play, so I am assuming they will be at some cost discount at or below the current $15 per race, but its still a good thing, and (SPECULATION)  likely a compromise for not having an official season 9 release this year if they determine its not safe to record what theyve written for season 9 in 2020.  (/SPECULATION).  I never bought in on the very first race even though I’ve played it for free at certain points, I was a careful adopter waiting to see if this would work, so the completist in me will be pleased to add that to my race tab.

Heres a quick tip for ZR VIP

The money comes out of the itunes/google play account.  So if you can wait a bit and add $20 a month to your apps account without spending, you might have enough to join VIP by October, or March. (or buy itunes gift cards and hold on to them till you have enough) Also, they say you will be refunded the amount of the ARC you haven’t used, but I suspect that will become store credit, and youll still need the $90 +tax upfront.  I’m bummed this is the only payment plan as well, I have a longer analysis coming.
