Could Zuko potentially be Jewish? I'm not really sure if he's canonically practicing Hinduism/Taoism, or if that's just an overall Fire Nation aesthetic.

i honestly cannot tell and don’t know enough about hinduism or taoism to say

my memory is we don’t see any sort of religion from the fire nation other than iroh’s spirtuality (which isnt the same as an organised religion) and the painted lady

I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet but don't you think it's a little weird that after zuko finally regained his honor and spot on the throne he still didn't put his hair up?It's been a while since I watched the show but I don't remember him putting his hair up at all in book 3(except for his coronation).I mean, he spent all of book 1 with his hair up,because he still had a scrap of hope that he'd get his place back. And from what I understand,hair has a lot of meaning. It seems important

I don’t think it’s weird at all. He’s a compeltely different person. This is a visual contrast between who he was and who he is. And he does put his hair up early in b3 (at the war meeting and stuff)

Other thoughts:

1, the half up look we see in his older years I think is a rank thing. I think it kinda means “i’m in charge”. Zuko probably didn’t want to give this feeling off in his early, rocky days on the throne.

2, his hair just isn’t long enough.

bryke was asked about zuko’s eye sight at one point and they said his vision wasn’t damaged. he could’ve developed a permemant taste/smell problem since his sinuses might’ve/probably got hit from what was clearly a severe wound infection

Can people stop doing the thing in fics where a character says to Zuko something along the lines of “I don’t see your scar anymore I just see you”

If you don’t see someone’s past trauma and present disability when you look at them, you’re not seeing all of them

Zuko for the headcanons thing

can they use chopsticks of course he can. He's been using them since he was little. Sometimes on dates he gets really nervous and slips, though.what do they do when they cant sleep goes for walks in the gardens and talks to the turtle ducks.what would they impulse buy at the grocery store stuff for baking. and frozen ravioli. that nerd.what order do they wash things in the shower he  washes his hair and lets the shampoo run down and then he washes the rest, feet last.what’s their coffee order black.what sort of apps would they have on their smartphone doodle jump + flapy bird (because his friends are assholes who put things on his phone) but also a lot of just useful things like note taking apps and stuff. and t o n s of selfies by the rest of the gaang because they steal his phone and he just keeps them bc he secretly loves themhow do they act around children  he's awkward at first but once he gets used to it he is actually really really good with children though he can't scold them or anything at aaaall which is why katara does that what would they watch on tv when they’re bored and nothing they really like is on law & order and like shitty police procedurals
