I started and finished a book called Chasing Fire written by Nora Roberts. It was pretty good! I started it on Wednesday and finished it on Saturday. It is considered a romance but in away I don't really think it is one. Yes, it does have some relationships taking place in the story but it also has thrill and some mystery. It is about men and women fighting wildfires and the difficulties that has occurred in the season. There is death, thrill and love. These men and women don't just fight the fires they jump from air planes and work hungry and tired for a hard 12 or more hours a day. These days may go on for weeks at a time making them exhausted when the fire is finally out. They call themselves Smokejumpers.

 I have never really knew about the Smokejumpers until now. From reading this book, even if it is written with fictional characters and story line, I have learned how incredible some people can be. I knew in a sense that some people are but I have come to understand what they have to do on a daily basis. Being appreciative is not be even close to how I feel about the men and women fighting wildfires. I may live only in Virginia but my heart is for the whole world. They are saving parts of the earth and the beauty it has to offer. I hope to one day share the beauty they fight so hard and religiously to save.
