zurg x reader: soulmate au
The two soulmate prompts I will be using:
1)Every so often you get flashes of what your soulmates can see, however, neither of you knows when it happens.
2)The right hand has the word danger if their soulmate is deadly to others or you. Emotionally or physically
(Y/n) did not want to meet her soulmate. On her right hand was the word lethal. It haunted (y/n) every day. It never changed, her soulmate always being lethal. That the whole reason (y/n) prayed she never meet her soulmate, is because she didn't want to die by their hands, whoever it was. If they were deadly to others, what would make (y/n) any different?
Most people's soulmate warnings changed with time. Some people went from good to neutral, then back to good. People were always changing. Doing different actions that could affect said word.
But (y/n)'s didn't. It was unheard of. It was like her soulmate was always lethal. Always hurting everyone, never changing for the better. And that fact is what made her nervous the most.
(Y/n) gave a groan as she flopped around on her bed, trying desperately not to look at her hand. Fait sucked. She must be so unlucky to get a lethal soulmate. They seemed so rare. The highest she have seen from others was dangerous.
What also didn't help, was the glimpse she saw. See every once in a while she could see through her soulmate's eyes. It was random and short, but it was enough to freak her out.
What she saw were huge dark buildings. Weapons and grubs, but the scariest of all, was the symbol z plastered everywhere. Her soulmate was on planet z. Of course, her lethal soulmate just had to work for zurg! Again, what her luck...
(Y/n) covered her face. It was only sunrise, yet she got no sleep. She's been up all night thinking about it, but this wasn't the first sleepless night about it.
"Just... calm down. It's been a few days since you saw anything. Just... just get up for the day." (Y/n) was trying to convince herself. She really was.
Yet she didn't move from the bed. She didn't want to move. Out there she could run into her soulmate and die! Inside she had a chance to hide away.
(Y/n) gave a loud groan. "Ok ok, what about going out for breakfast then... that always cheers me up."
(Y/n) hated how she had to bargain with her mind, but if it was to get up then so be it. Hey, you have to do what you have to do. Even if it was fighting off depression with a stick. Ok more like a broken stick.
Sluggishly she got dressed, before moving to the mirror. She squinted at it. She looked like a mess. More like a mess and a half. Words could not describe how she looked, but who would look good after an all-nighter?
(Y/n) washed her face before brushing her hair. She had to put in some effort
"There that's much more presentable." (Y/n) looked in the mirror one last time. This time it felt haunting...
A frown formed as she got a thought. She wondered what her soulmate saw from her eyes. They could be watching now. That made her heart sink with worry. If he was watching they just got a good look at her face.
"Don't think about it. Just.. just go about your day." (Y/n) put up a front, but the fear still lingered.
Storming out of the bathroom (y/n) got her jacket and gloves on. She always loved the wintertime. Gave her an excuse to hide her hand. Most people avoided her once they saw the word "lethal", others felt pity for her.
(Y/n) hated it, but people got even More Suspicious if she wore gloves in the summer. She even tried fingerless gloves, but some of the letters stuck out. She tried gardening gloves but those got really annoying fast. She tried to make up, but they don't work so well in the summer heat, or for swimming.
(Y/n) shivered as she opened the door, rushing out.if she wasn't going to get coffee with her meal, she sure was now! Or at least some hot coco. Her heart skipped a beat just thinking about the fluffy marshmallows. That would definitely make her day better.
(Y/n) rubbed her arms as another shiver escaped. Ah, the downside of winter. Always freaking cold. At least the wind wasn't too bad.
With another shudder (y/n) quickly shuffled down the street. Pasted the flying cars and ships. There were some space rangers too. It seemed like a normal day, nothing out of place.
A lot of beings were out and about today. Different species rush around. There was even a crowd forming in one spot.
Someone important must be visiting capital planet, but that wasn't new.
(Y/n) shrugged it off, she was too hungry and cold to stop, or to care for that matter.
Or at least that was the plan. That was until a blast went off, along with screams. Everyone was in a panic, everyone was fleeing.
(Y/n) covered her face from the flying debris. She gave a massive cough as the smoke cleared, people shoving past her. (Y/n) needed to try and flee like them.
(Y/n) was trying to get her soundings, but before she could, her eye's flashed. Her sight changed to her soulmate's sight. Oh no not now!! She was a sitting duck like this! She winced as another shoved past her. She couldn't run without ramming into something.
(Y/n) needed her sight now!
(Y/n) backed up only to freeze. She saw herself. Her soulmate was looking at her. They were here! Oh, fuck!
(Y/n) blinked rapidly to get her sight back, as a loud voice called for the hornets. Zurg's voice!
"Come on come on." (Y/n) rubbed her eyes, hoping to clear her sight faster. It was a good thing too, right in front of her was a horde of robot hornets.
(Y/n) yelped out a big shriek, quickly trying to scramble away. Her feet slipped on the snow and ice, but that didn't stop her. She just slid, struggling to keep her balance.
Another scream came from (y/n), the deadly yellow robot jumped in front of her, and she crashed into it hard.
A wheeze came from her lips. The air knocked right out of her poor lungs. It hurt. That was definitely gonna leave a bruised rib!
In (y/n)'s daze, the robot had looped his arms around her and started to take off. Them taking off the ground was what brought her back into reality. "Let me go!"
She only had limited time before they were at a dangerous height. If (y/n) were to jump down it would have to be now! Only the robot refused to lose its grip.
This was it. (Y/n) was going to die by a robot or falling to death.
(Y/n)'s hope was fleeing, that was until a bright red light shot the robot in the head. She didn't even have time to react as she was scooped out of the air.
"Come on zurg! You gotta do better than that!"
That voice... it sounded like
"Drop her right now lightyear!!" Buzz Lightyear was saving her!
Zurg commanded some robots to get buzz, but non were shooting at them. (Y/n) didn't have time to question as she gripped onto buzz's space suit.
The wind was going fast, and harsh while flying. it was making (y/n) tremble, but who could tell if it was the cold or fear.
"Xr, booster, help me shoot them down! Mira catch, I'm going after zurg!" Buzz did not stop, however, he did Pry (y/n)'s hands off and dropped her. Was he fucking crazy?!
She didn't fall far, in fact, someone else caught her. (Y/n) weakly opened her eyes to see the princess. (Y/n) swore her heart was going to give out at this rate.
"Dontletmego!" (Y/n) wheeze out, now clutching onto Mira for dear life.
"Don't worry I got you." The blue princess was lowered to the ground. The team was fighting off the robots as Buzz and zurg were going head-on.
Zurg's robots were shooting, but they were shooting at everyone but (y/n) and Mira. The hornets kept trying to get close.
Mira aimed her Lazer shooting some robots as well. She grits her teeth as they kept coming. "Guys they are after her!" She yelled. The robots were only coming to them, it was obvious.
(Y/n) felt her eyes pop out of her sockets. They were after her?! Oh just great! (Y/n) swore she felt her soul die on the inside. She was a normal being! Why would zurg be after..... "oh fuck."
Xr huffed "hey how come she can say that word? Stupid programming!"
"Rangers don't swear xr!" Buzz called out.
Booster rammed into some robots and then shot another. "Why would he be after a civilian?"
The flashes she saw... the word lethal on her right hand.... her soulmate was evil emperor zurg. (Y/n) fell to her knees as they kept fighting. He had come here for her.
Another blast went off, zurg had shot buzzes jetpack wing, and slid on the floor.
"This is the end lightyear!" Zurg flew above him in Triumph. "I get to kill two birds with one stone!" He had a dark laugh.
(Y/n) instantly forgot about her fear, turning to the rangers that were fighting the robots. (Y/n) was too far away, but if she could get the robots to leave so they could fly over, it could work! "Save buzz!" That was all she said.
She didn't have time to explain, but the robots were not shooting g her, zurg wanted (y/n) alive. (Y/n) took off running. "Come on hornets come get me!!"
"Running into her death obviously!" Xr yelled at booster.
but it worked. The robots were following her. They could now get to buzz and help. (Y/n) just had to keep running.
(Y/n) could not hear or see what they were doing, and she dared not to look back.
(Y/n) took a sharp turn but screamed as she slammed right into a robot, yet again. It had predicted her movements! If she wasn't sore from The 1st crash she was now! Oh yeah her chest was gonna have a nasty purple spot.
"Target Acquired." Its metallic voice rang as it snatched poor (y/n) up. Ok, that didn't buy them any time at all, but maybe it was enough!
The robot took off for the sky, the icy wind unbearable. It felt like needles slamming into her and piercing her skin.
(Y/n) winced as ice formed on her. She was kicking but in the distance, she saw the lightyear team winning, or at least it looked like it. Her sight was cut off as the robot got into the ship. Thank goodness it wasn't in space, but in the atmosphere.
The door slammed shut behind them, and the robot instantly dropped (y/n), making her yelp. Ok, how many times was she gonna fall or ram into things?!
(Y/n) gave a cry in pain as she rubbed the sore back she landed on.
"Be careful!! Zurg will be mad if she is hurt!" One of many voices rang out.
(Y/n) soon sound the sore of the voice, it was the grubs, and they were scrounging her. "Hey don't--"
(Y/n) yelped as they tried to look her over. "Ow hey get off!" (Y/n) scrabbled up. She missed yet another door opening and slamming. "Hey don't lift up my shirt!" (Y/n) shook them off but winced quickly grabbing her side.
"Grubs off!!" Zurg snapped. Oh fuck.... (y/n) snapped her head over, ice still stuck to her face and clothing.
The grubs quickly scrambled into a line. "We were checking for injuries, sir! Just like you asked."
"You all are dimwitted. " the grubs winced at that but didn't say anything.
Zurg gave a glare but walked over to (y/n). He eyed her. (Y/n) could not tell if it was a glare or what but it freaked her out.
"You look cold." His eyes trailed to her side where her hand was. "And hurt." He sounded loud as the grubs gulped.
"You three." Zurg pointed at the grubs. "Take her to the medical bay."
(Y/n) felt her whole body relax as soon as zurg left. At least he didn't want to kill her... yet. Hopefully, he didn't.
(Y/n) saw the grubs get closer and quickly blocked her side in fear. "Don't touch me... I'll follow."
One motioned her to do so as another gave a nervous smile. This was going to be. Along day...
Honestly (y/n) was surprised zurg had a medical bay, but it seemed normal.
"We need to scan you to make sure no ribs are broken."
(Y/n) just nodes, the ice slowly melting off. So cold.
Another spoke up. "We have an electric blanket ready for you after."
"Thanks...." these grubs were oddly nice, then again they were also following zurg's orders.
(Y/n) winced as the scanner finished.
"All clear, nothing broken."
(Y/n) instantly sighed in Relief. She would be ok, and she was warming up thanks to this blanket.
Now that the commotion was over, and her adrenalin out, she was incredibly tired. Running, falling, and getting kidnapped can do that to you.
(Y/n) gave a hum snuggling into her cocoon more. Though she wondered if buzz and his team were worried about a kidnapped civilian... most likely.
A grub noticed her drowsy look. "Should we tell zurg or let her sleep?" They whispered as another shrugged.
"Before anything, she needs to take some pain pills." He walked over tugging on the blanket to get her attention.
(Y/n) opened her eyes looking down. "Yeah?"
"This will help with the pain"
(Y/n) carefully took the glass and pill. "I don't think I can take this on an empty stomach."
The grub nodes. "Hold onto that then till we get you some."
One grub scrabbled out, they had to have something in the kitchen. As the medical bay closed behind him, the grub yelped being pulled by his antenna, dangling.
Zurg held the grub up. "Well, what's the hold-up? Is she ok?"
"Oh yes yes! She is fine! Perfectly healthy!" The grub hesitated. "Other than the bruise on her side... but we are gonna give medication for the pain!" He quickly yelled. "Heh as soon as she gets food."
Zurg frowned "she hasn't eaten yet? She was out about like that?"
"A...apparently?" The grub got out before harshly being thrown to the floor.
"I could use this to my advantage... make this a meal for two."
"Yes sir!" He ran down the hallway as fast as his tiny legs could carry him.
(Y/n) by now had put the cup and medication on the table, still fast asleep with the heated blanket. By the time she woke up a grub was trying to get her attention.
"We have food ready in the dining hall."
(Y/n) gave a hum, rubbing her eyes awake. A yawn escaped her before getting up. "Lead the way..."
Honestly (y/n) was lucky so far. She only saw zurg once. She doughs she would see him again so quickly. Besides zurg and his robots were the danger, not the grubs.
Down the hall there was a metal door. "Go inside and eat, then you can take some painkillers."
"Thanks." (Y/n) walked in. The lights were dim. Was this a trap?
(Y/n) yelped and jumped around when the door slammed shut hard. There was zurg. His clawed hand dug into the door.
Trap it was a trap!!! (Y/n) looked like a deer in the headlights, and boy it felt like it. She couldn't run as well, that was the only door she could see.
Zurg had a laugh, enjoying her look as he carefully walked over. "What's the matter?"
(Y/n) gulped, she eyed the door before back at him.
(Y/n) gripped the table as she bumped into it. Zurg is just a foot away now.
"Aw cat got your tongue?"
(Y/n) gulped before eyeing the door again this time she tried to move around zurg, but he just sidestepped in her way.
(Y/n) tried a few more times but zurg wasn't having it. He was always blocking the door.
"Sit." He motioned to one of the chairs by the table
Zurg clenched his fist seeing her hesitation. "Now!"
That made (y/n) instantly sit on the chair. This man could still kill her!
Zurg scooted her chair closer to the table, before putting his hands on her shoulder. His touch made (y/n) jump.
"You know why you are here yes?"
(Y/n) nodes as zurg huffed
(Y/n) felt a lump in her throat. It didn't help that his metal hands were right on her shoulders, threatening poor (y/n)
"I'm your.." (y/n) let out a shaky breath as zurg leaned closer, telling her to go on. "Soulmate..."
"You are correct my dear! Do you know how long I've been trying to figure out who you are?"
(Y/n) quickly shook her head as zurg kept speaking. "Though I guess I made it really obvious to you."
Zurg removed one of his hands from her shoulder, now going for her right hand. He roved the glove and smirked. "Lethal huh? Not surprised."
His fingers traced the word a bit as if it was an art to him. He stayed like that for a bit before placing a kiss on her right hand.
"You know my name, but I'm afraid I don't know your dear."
(Y/n) felt her mouth dry, but forced the words out. "(Y/n)"
"Well my (y/n), go ahead and eat." Zurg laughed when she didn't move. "It's not poisoned. I want you alive dear."
(Y/n) shakily grabbed her silverware taking a few bites.
Zurg did not move from his spot, at least not until the door burst open.
Zurg let (y/n) go and turned to the grub in anger. "WHAT?! what is so important that you have to come and interrupt?!"
"Lightyear is here!!" The grub got out.
Suddenly a Lazer blasted a wall, and zurg was quick to scoop (y/n) up to protect her, making her yelp.
"Alright zurg let your prisoner go!" It was buzz and his team.
"Prisoner? Your mistaken lightyear!" Zurg was still holding poor (y/n) to his chest, but his free hand transformed into a blaster.
Xr seemed confused. "You kidnapped her, so pretty sure that makes her your prisoner."
Zurg laughed as they had this standoff. "(Y/n) show them your hands, show them the real reason you are here."
(Y/n) grits her teeth, clearly not wanting to be here. She didn't want to be this close to him. She didn't want him to etc angry so she carefully lifted up her hand rand.
"You see (y/n) here is my soulmate."
"Oh boy how unlucky," Xr spoke only to help as buzz hit the back side of his helmet.
"That doesn't matter zurg, you still kidnapped the poor thing. Just look how scared she is!"
Buzz quickly ducked as zurg suddenly shot at them. The rest of his team scrambling.
"Good, she should be scared!" Zurg snickered knowing full well they couldn't shoot him back without risking (y/n)
"Besides if you bring her home I can always just snag her again!" Zurg shot again as Buzz made a roll.
Xr had enough getting his gun out.
"Xr don't you will hit her!"
"How are we gonna fight back then?!"
Buzz quickly gave a nod to Mira who understood what that meant, and with her ghost powers fleeced through the floor.
Zurg shot one last time before jumping out the door, still holding (y/n)
"As much as I want you to say my name, now is NOT the time!"
Buzz, xr, and booster were quickly running down the hallway.
"Calling all Hornets to stop lightyear!"
Xr smirked. "We can hold them off buzz! Go get (y/n)!"
Buzz nodes and kept running as booster and xr stopped to hold off the robots.
Buzz started tp run faster. "Zurg if she really is your soulmate this isn't the way to do it!!"
"Oh like I would listen to you!"
Zurg ran into a much bigger room, it was the power grid. Zurg started his jets taking off, buzz not far behind.
(Y/n) trembled holding on. "I don't like heights!" After today who wouldn't?
"Deal with it for a bit!" Zurg huffed zipping around, but quickly looked at (y/n) seeing she was turning green.
His eyes widen. "Wait time out!!" Zurg called quickly landing. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to take her flying after the poor thing just ate.
Zurg grabbed a close by trash can quickly holding it up to (y/n).
Buzz blinked, seeing zurg caring was.... odd. Buzz landed as (y/n) puked her heart out. Zurg was even rubbing her back!
"Is she ok?" Buzz asked but zurg only shot a nasty look at the space ranger.
"I will be if there's no more flying." (Y/n) crooked out.
Mira suddenly popped out from the wall. "Yikes, what did you do? She looks pale."
"Yes, I know!" Zurg was livid but held it under control.
(Y/n) was breathing heavily as her face was still in the bucket. "Please no more running around... I just want to lay down in my bed..."
Zurg huffed but turned to buzz. "Come back later when she's not feeling sick."
Mira looked at buzz surprised.
Buzz seemed to think about it. "Well, she can't really go home if she is motion sick right now... "
"Yeah so leave. Go on shoo!" Zurg
(Y/n) gave a groun Into the trash can as Buzz shook his head. "I don't think we should you can still hurt--"
"I'll hurt you." He sneered
Buzz sighed, deep in thought "I can't believe I'm saying this... but let's take her home later ok?"
Buzz and zurg gave a glare at one another before turning to leave. Buzz still had to get booster and xr.
(Y/n) was not throwing up anymore, but she still felt sick and weak. She suddenly yelped as zurg stopped her up into his arms.
"What don't move so fast!" Her stomach was doing flips. Her hand was on her head trying to stop the spinning.
Zurg didn't really say anything but thankfully he was walking and not flying.
(Y/n) closed her eyes, using her hand to cover her eyes from the lights.
"Let get you cleaned up and to bed."
(Y/n) didn't have the energy so she just gave a hum. Next thing (y/n) knew she was in the bathroom, zurg using a damp rag to clean her up just enough for bed. He was mostly cleaning her face and some hair that got in the fire zone.
(Y/n) looked up at zurg, who was deathly close to her. Zurg noticed her staring and used his hand to fix her hair back into place. He stayed like that a bit before getting up.
"Your tired. Come on, I'll show you your room." Zurg offered his hand to help her down from the counter. (Y/n) couldn't really say no, unless she wanted to fall face first onto the floor
Zurg helped her down and when she wobbled he didn't hesitate to scoop her up like a princess.
(Y/n)'s head was pounding. Why was throwing up always like this?
Zrug opened a bedroom door laying her on the bed. "It doesn't have your stuff yet, but for now it will do."
Her stuff? Why would... was he wanting (y/n) too very into this room? They just meet! Then again.... if people knew she was the soulmate of zurg they would definitely use her. Either way, there was no winning.
Zurg tucked (y/n) in, and boy was she depressed for sleep, instantly snoozing.
