cool spectrum games i played recently include “Bugaboo (The Flea)”, which is essentially a 1983 rage game similar to something like Getting Over It or Jump Knight, where you must control the titular Bugaboo’s jump strength and direction in order to maneuver your way out of a cave, risking falling back to the bottom with every jump. Ant Attack, a weird little top-down shooter(?) with weird controls and mechanics, like falling off ledges onto ants to stun them. the sprites are cute, and I think the environment and world is very evocative...

more exciting Spectrum games from last night! Tir Na Nog, a strange exploration-RPG-adventure game? You wander around this 3D world from a sidescrolling perspective, turning left and right to face north-south and east-west, like sidescrolling DRPG a little. YThe animation on the walk cycle is frankly incredible, and the environments are really well defined and atmospheric for a spectrum game. ou pick up items, and hit presumably, eventually, some kind of Monster or Ogre with them. I didn’t get far enough to see! It’s hard to navigate! Maybe someone stronger can defeat this gamer’s challenge... Play it Here

Horace & The Spiders is some kind of warioware-like compilation of little levels that must be completed with moving and jumping. The second level seems impossible to me, perhaps there’s some trick to it. Terrible controls lol. Lives are referred to as “Serum”.    Horace is the blue little freak in the bottom left, couldn’t tell you what his problem is. It seems he’s a recurring character in the spectrum scene. I don’t like playing it, but it’s kind of awesome isn’t it?
