“Huh? Well, uh... That’s...kinda weird, but...”

They were friends, so nicknames should have been fine, right? But then, maybe this just has to do with his awkwardness---maybe he’s just trying to seem more refined because that’s what makes him feel most comfortable. Okay, then that’s acceptable!

“If that’s what you prefer, then okay! Shibata-san, it is!” Maybe one of these days, he’ll feel comfortable enough to allow her to give him nicknames. Oh yeah! “And, um... You can call me whatever you want; Kai, Kai-chan, Narita-san, anything works!”

Except for kuma, don’t call me kuma; she thinks of saying this, but doesn’t want to scare him off. It’s not that big of a deal anyway---she can’t imagine him being the sort who would jump on the Bear Bandwagon.

Oh---now he wants to know what she wanted? That’s a little weird too, but okay. He actually reminds her a little of Onii-chan; the way he’s just straight to business. He’s a serious one, isn’t he?

“I just... You know!” She runs her fingernails along each other as a stim---being with a new friend is both exciting and nerve-wracking, and she has a lot of energy to try and contain. “I wanted to hang out with you!”

    Jia Yu rarely entered this chamber. The security provided by the walls and ceiling, the bed which provided comfort during dormancy, and the mirror sitting on a desk in the back corner of the room – she detested it all. To the average person, this was a lavish room for one to reside in, but to her, it’s a prison.

    In that moment, she thought no different, as it was that woman that sent her to her room, more than likely to hide her from a potential prominent person for whatever business. It was for the best – they did not want the Jia name to be tarnished with garbage just lying around.

    She simply sat on the floor, her back resting against the side of the bed, waiting for her permission to leave. Sitting directly on the furniture probably would have been the more obvious option, but the mere thought of using it, like she earned it, made her nauseous.

    It was the rattling of her door that brought her out of her miserable stupor. The request brought about by a familiar voice turned her empty gaze his way, her neck arched back as the back of her head rested against the bed surface.

    “—–Not sure why you’d like to, but be my guest.”

    “I’ve acquired this leg I believe to be from a rooster. Apparently, some believe it to be good luck if I heard correctly. I hope you appreciate this gift, Lord Father.”

   “ You. “ 

        This one word drips with hostility, the bewitching rose of her eye narrowed sharply at the man barely a few feet from her. Displayed in her dominant hand is her sword-- not yet sheathed, as thick crimson still drips off the ivory of the blade. Clasped in the black metal of her other armoured hand is a cloth bag filled with something yet to be identified from the outside. Was she perhaps fleeing? On the outskirts of the large town’s boundaries, no doubt this was the case.

     Her pale body turns, recognition clicking through her mind. Her weapon does not raise-- not yet-- for now he is no threat. 

   “ I just keep running into you, don’t I? “

she hadn’t noticed he was there until it was too late. honest. kasane had been so focused on the obscene scrawls all over her desk ( more brutal today than they have been in weeks, with the addition of a mirror to confront her with the truth ) that she hadn’t been paying attention to the sound of approaching footsteps from the hall... and, in her haste to flee from such an unpleasant reality, ...she’d wrenched open the classroom door, slamming right into an oncoming someone at full-force. no matter how slim he is, there’s no way that a scrawny and fragile thing like her can knock him over, her body like the bones of a bird upon impact; rather, she ends up falling back onto her rear with a thin squeak of shock.

of course, the dismay already present on her face only grows when she looks up at him. he’s not from her class -- she’d know if he was -- but does it matter? there’s no escaping from it. scary kasane, ugly kasane, revolting kasane, kasane the monster: forms of her reputation known throughout the school. her too-wide mouth warps into a fearful grimace, and her wobbling voice strains as she rushes to apologize before he can speak.

❝ Ah... U-Um... I didn’t mean to-- I’m sorry...! ❞

‘ Woah! That is some sweet armor! Is it real? ’

The sorcerer approached the other enthusiastically && openly admired the armor he donned. Traveling to new territories was always entertaining. The 1980′s couldn’t even compare to where he was now. Stroking his chin he leaned in even closer to get a better look. 

‘ Yeah, it’s definitely real, but what’s it made of? ’

Head tilted up slightly, so he could make eye contact while still hunched over.

After a long day of studying Tiffany couldn’t keep herself from dozing off in the library. She only had a couple hours until practice, so to her the best idea was to sleep where she was rather than waste time walking home. The blonde rested her head on a textbook as her pillow & a thin line of drool could be seen leaking from the corner of her mouth onto an open page.

She slept soundly for quite some time until there was a subtle tap on her shoulder.

‘ Five more minutes.... Then wake me, just five minutes please. ’
