Is it just me or do people who aren't an Other seem to almost never pick up on certain themes in stories and media? Like fuck dude, idk how to tell you that "you need to hide what you are because if people find out they won't accept you, they may even kill you for it" and "you'll need to work twice as hard to get half as far because this world is unfair to—maybe even deliberately rigged against—you and yours" and "you are different and this isolates you but if you don't compromise who you are purely for the sake of convention you will someday find true friends" are all actually very interesting topics to explore. And you can do it in so many different ways! Sorry that you've never had reason to think about stories in that light because it's a very cool lens to view things through.
