When I think of Takahashi Minami, I like to think about someone who always manages to link to people on an emotional level. To be honest, that’s the one thing that left the greatest impression on me the very first time I saw a video of her. I remember thinking, “Why does this girl cry so much? How can she feel so much in such a tiny body? How can she be the leader of not only one group, but of an entire army of girls. Where does she find the time, the strength, the spirit to do that?”. And then I saw it; I saw how every single member followed her, how every single member respected her, looked up to her, connected to her - rather, how she connected to them all. How it wasn’t about Atsuko and Minami, or Minegishi and Minami, or Kojima and Minami, but how the entire group was linked to her. How it was Minami and The 48 Group. How she cared, how she was close - or well, tried to be close -, to legitimately everyone. How she always worked hard in order to never leave anyone behind.
I watch this video, I watch that video they showed on her graduation concert where everyone calls out her name (”Takamina-san”), and I realize why this woman has been so important to this group, to all these members, and to me. She connects to you, to us all, to all these members, to the people who come in contact with her, on a deeper level. I don’t know how she does that, but… It’s heartwarming. People go to her not because she is this all-knowing Leader, not because she knows the answers to all problems, but because she listens to them, she pays attention to them, she sees them, and she helps them.
This is what I like to think when I look at Takahashi Minami. Because this is also what everyone has been saying since day one, to be honest. And this is what they have been showing us, too. And I want to trust them all. I want to trust my eyes. I like to think that she made history because she truly, sincerely, wholeheartedly, genuinely loved this group and all its members. And I like to think that’s why I chose her. That’s why she is my biggest inspiration.
I just love her with all my heart.
Not doing so well in the tug-of-war event, Team A does a last minute self-suggestion procedure in hopes to give them some extra strength for their next match by continuously chanting “We are strong!”
Now that’s a good way to boost your team’s confidence.

A little video we all should take a moment to watch and think about.
Instead of thinking about what divides us we should think about what we have in common…
I’ve reblogged this on every account I have.
This is simplistic and intended to tug on heartstrings and all that shit but guys I really needed to see something about people not being dicks so if you needed that too please watch this.
Thanks for this, Denmark.
It worked. Consider my heartstrings tugged.
Don't kill yourself, please.
If you’re suffering from depression and are looking for a sign to not go through with ending your life, this is it. This is the sign. We care.
If you see this on your dash, reblog it. You could save a life.
You just saved mine.
Thank you…
I’ve been on both sides of this, for nearly a quarter century, now. And I know. Internet relationships are real. There are real people on the other side of the screen, and they can (and do) truly care about you. Don’t let anyone tell you different.

Happy 26th Birthday to my favourite little gem.
I actually can’t believe it’s been a year since your last birthday. A year since you graduated from AKB48 but wow have you managed to pack a lot into a year. So many different TV shows, appearances, music performances, your first album! You never stop impressing me.
I love your bubbly, fun personality and it warms my heart when I see you having fun and laughing. I also love your sensitive, inspiring side and how you never stop fighting for what you believe in.
I hope being 26 makes you more amazing than ever.
Happy Birthday Takamina!

-Your Feelings Won’t Reach if You’re Angry-
I constantly pay attention to keeping a calm composure.
If I’m always emotional, people will treat my serious words lightly.
Also, if I use emotional words, I will get nothing but emotional words in return.
When you’re angry, you won’t be able to say what you really feel.
That’s why I only get angry at critical moments. And, I’m calm even when I’m angry.
In order to say what you really mean, it’s important to first keep a calm composure.
