1. How tall are you? I’m 5′7′’ or 170.18cm.

2. What color and style is your hair? Black, and I just style it just like it is (see my pic as Shichirou “Seven“ Hamada).

3. What color are your eyes? Brown.

4. Do you wear glasses/contacts? If ever I can wear glasses, it’s just for style/fashion statement.

5. Do you wear braces? I don’t, even if my dentist or Mama wanted me to. And it’s kinda expensive.

6. What’s your fashion style? I look like a total bum whenever I’m at home or at me and my Mama’s studio-type apartment in Makati. But I dress decent enough (and comfy enough) whenever I go, be it work or when at a meet with friends or family bonding.

7. What’s your name? Vincent Rafael Puenteblanca. Name means “Conqueror that God has healed of the White Bridge″. My nickname can be Viel, Vince... Any variation will do, as long as it’s not kinda offensive.

8. When were you born? August 13th, 1992. It’s a Thursday.

9. How old are you? 23 years and 3 months old.

10. Where are you from/live now? Born in the city in Alabang, Muntinlupa in Metro Manila but moved to Trece Martires City in nearby Cavite Province when I was 3 and lived there since. And to save transportation fare, me and Mama stay in our studio-type in Makati during the weekdays, only going home during weekends.

11. Do you have any siblings? None, I’m an only child.

12. What school/college do you go to? Used to be at Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite Campus in Gen. Trias, Cavite. Just a short jeepney ride from Trece.

13. What kind of student are you? Just your average type. Strangers think I’m actually nice. Friends think I’m great. Best friends know I’m awesome. And teachers know I’m one of their best, if not well-known students. I also get good grades, and keeping it that way until graduation.

14. Do you even like school? Back then I’m torn between loving and hating it, now I’m missing it, since work is kinda depressing most times, since we must work even on holidays.

15. What are your favorite school subjects? Math, Computer, English and Foreign Languages.

16. What are your favorite shows? Anime: Kuroko no Basuke, Shingeki no Kyojin, Free!, DIGIMON, and many more (as long as it’s not horror/gore/plain stupid). Non-Anime: Any interesting show, as long as it’s not horror/gore or pointless that it becomes a national consciousness.

17. What are your favorite movies? If I list ‘em all, it’ll take long. It’s similar to the genres for non-Anime favorite shows.

18. What are your favorite books? Not much of a bookworm unlike back then in LPU-Cavite where I can read whatever fancies the mood I have. I only read up news from elsewhere now since work is fast-paced.

19. What is your favorite past time? Singing my favorite songs at the top of my lungs, and maybe the same as that of Seven Hamada’s.

20. Do you have any regrets? What’s to regret for now except the depressing fact about having to work even on holidays?

21. What is your dream job? An ambassador or diplomat (Yes, just like the famed first Goggle Boy Taichi Yagami). Or maybe just your average world traveler like those people in NatGeo People.

22. Would you like to get married one day and where? Kinda fast, but I’m still yet to find my Taiga Aisaka. Yes, besides Yukio Kasamatsu, I see myself in Ryuuji Takasu as well.

23. Would you like to have kids one day and how many? No, but if ever, just one. My Palmtop Tiger can’t handle that many kids.

24. Are you a girly girl, a regular girl or more of a tomboy? I’m a dude. Next query, please...

25. Do you like shopping? Depends on what I’m shopping for, like just the necessary food and home improvement stuff, most of the time when in Makati.

26. What countries have you visited before? Vietnam was my first country visited, and my current favorite. But soon it’ll be Japan, and then finally, Denmark. For now, other countries visited are Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.

27. What is the scariest nightmare you have ever had? Never had one yet, all are just the same falling from a high place kind of “dream“...

28. Do you have any enemies? Everyone has one or two or many and we made them, after all. And of course, unlike back then in high school, I love them now.

29. Who are your best friends? My former (first) college buddies/co-forum members, Anime Club in LPU-Cavite, known Facebook friends, and my cousins.

30. Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend and what is their name? No girlfriend since birth, and yeah, I’m single (I’m loving it for now...).

I first knew of Tomokazu Sugita being the voice of the resident silver troll samurai Gintoki Sakata, and then the 100% true human Kyon. Then I became an official fanboy of him when he also voiced the funny glasses Nichibro Hidenori Tabata and the techie glasses Kazuyoshi “Switch“ Usui. Need to watch some more anime where he’s voiced in ((see the tags)). :D HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY!!!

Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人 Shingeki no Kyojin) live-action, an informal movie REVIEW

First things first: What took them so long? ((SPOILER ALERT in the next 1,000+ characters or so, or kinda...))

Released here in the Philippines last August 12th, and me and Mama watched it two days later as part of my birthday week celebration, at least it’s quite the wait. :D

When I first saw one of the official trailers almost two weeks ago, the first reaction I did was, “Forget planning to buy a car*, I should watch this!“ And, sure enough, at the first scenes, it’s just as I imagined what the setting is in real life.

The head trio, Eren, Mikasa and Armin (in this movie, a guy)’s opening scene in a dream of exploring the world outside the walls was expanded, and there’s kind of anachronistic stuff deviating from the anime and manga like the idea of planes and bombs. Seems like a good idea for starting the movie lightly unlike the in-your-face thrills welcoming you in the anime and manga.

But we go fast-forward into the film: There goes Colossal Titan breaking a part of the outermost wall so that the others can come in, the drift of what makes SnK holding on to your seats from all that thrills, spills and chills...

Some stuff that kinda shies away from the very plot like costume changes (I’m talking about the Military Police Brigade in their Unicorn crest patches), Mikasa going solo, some girl in the Survey Corps hitting on Eren (or Armin, can’t tell since both of their actors look almost alike), names (both person and place) changed, and what I thought was Levi is actually not (Captain Shikishima).

What I can agree with the other (negative) reviews is about both the deviations as mentioned above and the bungled idea of Levi not making an appearance at all. And maybe in a way, the actors for the Titans (Usually deformed, comes in all sizes, eats humans just for the heck of it, you get the idea if you know what they are in the very plot) and the (quite distracting) score.

But, where there’s negatives, there are positives, such as the saving grace of the movie: Eren’s strong and unwavering resolve, and in the climax, his transformation as the Rogue Titan was glorious. Sekai no Owari ((End of the World, subtitle for the second part of the movie))’s “Anti-Hero” and “SOS” as theme songs were catchy enough to tide over either “Guren no Yumiya” and “Jiyuu no Tsubasa” by Linked Horizon in the anime.

More to come on September 19th, hopefully the second part makes up for some of these critical points I’ve said in this review.

Yukio Kasamatsu (CV: Souichirou Hoshi) is the Kaijō High School Basketball Team’s Captain and is a nationally-credited point guard. He possesses a hard personality though not necessarily harmful, he does have a serious demeanor and a rather short temper fuse that can easily go out when his teammates either do poorly or goof around. ((*ahem* especially you, Kise *ahem*)) Though he may appear violent, he is only very devoted to his teammates and wants the whole team to succeed and lead them to victory. It is obvious that he is a very serious person regarding his position as team captain and even if he commonly appears to be bossy, he really has faith in his teammates’ abilities.
