how to not make a terrarium and get roly polies? because look at them!

this is Armadillidium Vulgare Orange Vigor Isopods they can also be called orange energy, they are dry environment roly polies from Mediterranean coast and their vibrant orange coat is bred in enclosures they are active and unlike shy species they are brave day walkers! they do have specialized hides, but you will constantly see them exploring the surface, foraging, and climbing on the barks!

Next are pure chaos polies! Merulanella sp. "Scarlet"! (they got changed to a Ardentiella family, which is in translation "burning" or "fire"), and those guys looks they were literally forged in the fires of the Hell by Satan itself! (perhaps satan love roly poly bugs too) They are from wet forests in Vietnam, and they need around 70%-80% humidity, they are constanly showing speed, and they absolutely love tо climb! they don't hide like other although they can hide. and also they look like they are angry all the time..

if you think that only smooth roly polies exist.. WRONG! There are spiky isopods! Isopoda sp. "Armageddon" they are rare and sought-after species, which are relatively new to the roly poly hobby world, they can be found in Thailand, and they are mid humidity bugz who can roll up in a spiky ball if threatened They are also non-shy and will crawl on the surface, and they love high temperature! Because they reproduce at an incredibly slow, practically "frozen" evolutionary rate, their market value in the US exceeds that of real gold: the price of a starter colony easily surpasses the $300 mark. They are spiky marble balls, that spend their time scaling sheer cliffs and vertical tree canopies, proudly displaying their spiny bodies without the slightest fear of predators. And that's it! But there is still too many species of roly polies to cover they are low maintenance pets and can be kept even in a small enclosure!

update on my shrimp tank thing!

i didn't bought 3 gallon tank BUT i received my 2.5 gallon tank! for now there is only filter, shrimp soil, bit of brick and depression.. but i soon will receive plants and THEN i'll start fully cycle it, for now i let filter run day and night for idk what reason? perhaps to get used to filter sounds as because this mini aquarium is near my bed yeah.. and i close it with my book.. but everything will be soon i hope!

day two i fought my fear of touching my aquarium and i putted some rocks on top of the java/Christmas moss mix because it flying after i putted an boblet soon i will close filter with sponge for spare kinda filters as because if mini shrimp will get there i don't think it will survive i thinking of getting long plants too! but later lil bit about rocks, i added Geode and some gems (like quartz), they are safe for shrimps! and damn, after water conditioner my water smells like dirty water.. after some water changes it will be gone

day 3! i went yesterday to buy aquarium tests and bought tall plants i heard they can't be in soil and have to float so i tangled them a bit in moss so they would not fly and i discovered that my soil made for caridina shrimps and not neocaridina so soil will keep 6-6.5 ph.. i gotta feed soil to stop lowering my ph and other good stuff

my parameters are gh - 0-30 (more like 30 to me) kh- 0 ph-6.5 no2 & no3: 0.5 % 20 ammonia: 0.25 i also yesterday putted carrot in aquarium to carrot to rot a bit and start cycle and now i'll just let aquarium be until i'll able to get minerals (for calcium and all that) and let it grow

I plan on getting 3 gallon shrimp tank and y'know what?

If someone will see my shrimp tank and will say "why you don't have fishes? I would put beta fish there.. or little pleco/catfish" and I feel I don't like them, I will not explain that this is a death sentence for both of groups and I don't want fishes (since they definitely would not understand that)

Instead I would say "Oh you know? I had fishes a while. My shrimps just ate them.. y'know? They are so aggressive I fear to put hand in this tank.. What if they will eat it?"

No further non-needed advice and now they fear shrimps 🫶
