Leaning back in her chair with a tub of fried shrimp Pam tapped at her phone stuffing her face with her free hand. Kevin McCormick, still a better name that Pamela Poovey so she couldn’t say much and with a sibling like Karen he had to be cool.

As the phone rang she pulled up his record glancing it over small drug charges and minor violence compared to what she should have on hers. Thanks to her job she never had to worry about anything like that. An auto shop? That was something she could work with. As the phone was picked up she beamed out, “Hi is this Kevin?”

Kevin glared over at his phone as it went off. It’s too late for this shit. Not like he was sleeping anyway. He was in his living room with a stupid kids show quietly playing on the TV because his kid couldn’t sleep, and his phone just had to go off. He answered it anyway, slight annoyance in his tone but he still had to sound professional just in case. “Hello? Yeah this is Kevin, what d'ya need.”

“I heard that you were looking for some help at your auto shop and I was interested.” She hadn’t really thought this prank call through going with the first excuse she could think off. Then again she never planned anything out, great job.

Kevin groaned inwardly and rolled his eyes, leaning his head back. “Like i’ve told everyone else. I’m full on staff. Sorry. I’m not hiring.” he replied, the tone of annoyance still evident.

I just figured I’d call since I’ve been trying to find something I can pretty much find my way around any vehicle.” She bit her lip, where was Sterling when Pam needed him? She’d already fucked up going off on one of her lie tangents. Shit.

Kevin looked down at his son who was staring at him. “You tellin people stuff?” he earned a no from the young boy. “Don’t worry about it, we haven’t been hiring in a while. Maybe in a month or two, call back, might have a few spots open.” Kevin replied into the phone.
