Jinart 8 figures collection. Chapter 10: βCan I have a selfie instead?β snippetΒ
Within half an hour, Buttercup found herself laid out on an inflatable pool mattress, clad in one of Saraβs bikini sets with a second iced coffee in hand. Sheβd found a black two-piece that had tie sides that sheβd managed to make fit her pretty well, and a pair of her likely-designer sunglasses. A pizza had been ordered (she'd ordered a meat feast, which surely ticked the protein box?), she had music playing on Saraβs outdoor sound system - now all that was left to do was relax.
The raven haired teen planned to block out everything: school and the fact she should have been there cramming for her final few months there. The Professor, and his effective disownment of her. Butch, and his unfaithfulness - that EsmΓ© was maybe behind. EsmΓ© - just EsmΓ© in her entirety.Β
She wasnβt going to think about any of it. She was going to float on that inflatable, dip her toes in the water, listen to music and chill.Β
At least, that had been her plan until sheβd heard footsteps approaching the front of Saraβs house. The green puff cocked a brow, pushing the sunglasses up onto her head to peer at the backyard gate - could it be her pizza already? Sheβd only just ordered it, surely it hadnβt gotten there that fast?Β
She pulled herself poolside, and got out to investigate, placing her iced coffee down and fixing the sunglasses back on her face.
The gate opened and she came face to face with the last person sheβd been thinking of, and the last person she wanted to see: EsmΓ©.
She immediately threw her shield up instinctively, just in case all this mind control stuff was legit. Maybe this would give her some sort of protection from it.Β
Closing the gate behind her, EsmΓ© turned to face the green puff with a kind smile on her face.Β βButtercup, sweetie, I think we really need to talk.βΒ

A Plate of Hot Cakes
A four-tier hot takes that I believe are not out of spite? Or due to fannish argumentative discourse? But instead they are, like for everybody else, simply preferences when it comes to enjoying my steady hyper fixation, the ppgxrrb. I call this list "Hot Cakes" because..... Well, you'll understand π I have "soft" reasoning for things.
1) I adore the last name "Jojo" for the Boys - learning this fanon feature was, at first, surprising. However, unlike my fellow fans, the irk and huge question mark above my head disappeared as quickly as the sound of it immediately grew into me. I tried to give it a thought or two: why do I like it so much? Why don't I think it's lame? I figured it's not because I subscribe faithfully to the idea that the Boys are Mojo's children (but I certainly embrace that as my canon) to the point that I want them to use "Jojo", nor that I'm a Mojo fan. Rather, the uniqueness of the name itself is what completely enamored me. I encountered a couple of amazing people in my life with reduplicative surnames, or almost like it such as Rara, P. Yuyo, Salangsang, Quilala and more. "Jojo" was just a reminder of those colorful souls, and thus, meant to me that the RRB are incomparable.
2) "Brick" has a nice ring to it - exactly as the label on the can says xD I don't freaking know why I think Brick is a nice name. It's masculine, it demands attention, it's rare. Though a quick wikipedia search says that a few people from the old times had that name -- I think you won't see/meet people with that name twice in your life ahahaha. If I'm wrong though, welp!! It's good to remind myself that I live offshore hahaha. In here, at least, that word used as a name is a rare thought.
3) It's not about giving importance to depicting PPG or RRB as perfect. It's more about learning their weaknesses despite looking perfect - Perhaps call me old fashioned, but since the Six metahumans are metahumans, I envision them the normal way as how superheroes/villains look in comics. I have no interest in steering far from it, or go entirely against the characteristics of the canon design. Why?! Why not be creative about it, they're a blank canvas especially the Boys!! Go wild!! Well, yes and no. I AM handling this freely xD (i mean, the fact that I love the fanon things about this, am I not rebelling against canon already?) but my creative level is just around the perimeters of "Boring" HAHA.
4) Bubbles is the People Pleaser - a quick flashback to that one old query I posted about which of the Girls was likely to become a people pleaser. Though my answer was both Bubbles and Blossom, I have always HC'd that this is gonna be older Bubbles' fate -- and it's not gonna be easy for her. Is this even a hot cake?!? Maybe, because Blossom won that poll π I saw reasons for the vote and all I could say is, there's a misconception on what makes a person a pleaser. The greatest hint will always be: if someone puts the comfort/ feelings/ peace of mind of other people first before themselves, for a number of reasons like mainly to avoid conflict or rejection, even when this act of giving way is already damaging to them or is a half-hearted decision-- then a person has people pleasing tendencies. They could suffer from dissonance. My Hot Cake point is I don't believe Bubbles will be the most well-adjusted Puff as she grows up BOHAHAHA that is, if she leaves her definition of kindness unchecked.
Now this is not to say I don't see Blossom (or heck, even Buttercup) trying to please people. She COULD, even with that big ego of hers. It's possible, it can happen, trust me. But maybe this discussion could be explored in another time or maybe not haha.
Aaaaannd that's all I can think of for now XD Are these hot takes?!? Am I using that term wrong? Who cares. This post is proof of life. The six metahuman blorbos still occupy my brain 24/7 despite whatever is happening in my real life ahaha

The door to the Mini Malphs opened and closed, setting off the door chime as someone entered or exited the store.

Somebody came inside. Or did they leave? Buttercup Utonium couldnβt tell; she wasnβt paying attention. She stood in the middle of the small aisle, her hands fisted into the pockets of her jacket as she stared at the rows of potato chips before her. Suddenly focussing on what she wanted was very difficult - she just knew she was hungry.
An older woman shimmied past her; and the green puff saw her screwing her nose up as she did in the corner of her eye. Buttercup dipped her head down, giving the faded grey denim of her jacket a sniff. It stank of pot.Β
But that didnβt exactly surprise her. She had not long gotten back from Mitchβs place. It had just been her, Mitch and Harry; sheβd told them everything that had happened. Theyβd of course been shocked - and Mitch had questioned Push The Atomβs future. That was something she didnβt have the energy to even think about right now. He hadnβt pushed it.Β
After telling them everything that had transpired, heβd offered her a consolatory hit of his joint - and sheβd surprised him by accepting it. She hadnβt just accepted it, after the initial coughing, choking fit, sheβd gotten the hang of it a little and smoked the entire thing with them. Then had him roll another for them to share, too.
After getting over the initial unpleasantness of the smoke hitting her lungs and making her choke, sheβd actually found it quite enjoyable. Mitch had instructed her to take small inhalations to begin with and exhale slowly. Eventually, she could see the appeal. And actually, she felt good.
It had certainly relaxed her. And god did she need relaxing at the moment.Β

I miss this fandom. Please, Powerpuff fandom, come back.
I arrived in the PPGxRRB fandom when it was at the brink of collapsing. Despite that, I enjoyed the last few months of its life -- reaching a few people, swimming in the worlds they made, enjoying everyone's creativity. This side of the fandom was, itself, a new thing to me and you know what it's like when you unearth a tiny diamond in a sand.
I saw the fandom die down, and it hurt. I, too, miss this so bad and was nostalgic of something I never had. I also want it all back. I'm not sure if it'll ever be... But I'm here. Still here. I might have been buried with the rest of us who voluntarily/involuntarily moved out of the scene - but I'm here. We are here... in the background. Just avoiding toxicity maybe and well, vacationing in other interests/handling other stuff outside this until inspiration once again hits us. Don't worry, you're not alone, don't be lonely! π₯Ή
