Chante brought over some chocolates for Easter! And... she has floppy rabbit ears? Are those even REAL?! "Happy Easter, Marion! ... The ears are a long story."

Marion perked up at once when they heard Chante’s approach, rushing over to greet her with an excited chitter. They didn’t seem to have noticed that she had brought chocolate yet, rather more focused on her than on what she carried. The rabbit ears gave them pause, though, and they nuzzled curiously at one. “Happy Easter, Chante! …Are these real?” They, too, were seasonally adorned, but in a somewhat different manner, their buttons and cheek markings covered by Easter Egg stickers. Kinda cheap, but they liked it anyway.

Even the atmosphere felt different – they'd never thought of their home's atmosphere as oppressive, but being out here felt so much freer. Oh, and they could feel the breeze! The slight chill in the air! It certainly explained the little coat they'd been given – which they'd expressed their appreciation for with happy wiggles and thanks as soon as it had been given. It was comfy, and they thought it looked quite nice on them too. Not to mention, it was a token of Chante's care for them, something they treasured.

Their face lit up so much at just the sight of everything, as though this totally ordinary piece of the outside world was a paradise, and Chante the angel bringing them to see it. If this was a date, it was a truly marvellous one – and they could indeed feel through this soft form, enjoying the sensation of being held close. Feeling the grass was one of the things they were looking forward to, as well, having heard many tales of children playing on it.

Her words made sense, and he nodded, smiling up at her. “That's okay – I don't need to see in the shops, when I'm out here in all this wonder with you~!” They exclaimed, their tone sincere, and if their eyes hadn't been cloth, one could swear they'd been sparkling. Perhaps that impression was some reflection of the entity possessing the fabric shell, rather than what was truly visible. “Oh, it is! It's lovely, thank you~ I didn't realise how chilly it'd be – it's usually around the same sort of temperature all the time in the pizzeria. What do you want to do first? There are so many choices, I don't know what to pick!”

"Can I help with the cake?" Seems Marion wants a taste. They wouldn't originally have been able to, but their system has been warped enough by magic to make drawing energy from such sources wholly possible. - takenwaytoosoon

“Marion~” if Chante could make the happy trills and chirps they could, she would be doing so upon seeing them, “I think you did mention you could eat before? Go ahead, there’s a lot to share! And it’s vaguely decorated to your liking too!”

Marion beamed, making plenty of trills and chirps for both of them as they drifted closer. “Thanks! Wow, there is, isn’t there? I bet I could have fit inside!” They responded, impressed, as they tried to cut a sensible slice. “Would it be vain to call it pretty?”

“I don’t know for certain, but I think a giant metallic eldritch being just adopted me. What did I do to get myself into this situation?”

“Be absolutely adorable? Who’s your new  parent? Can I meet them?”

Their demeanour was open, innocently curious, but there was also a sparkle in their eyes. They hadn't fully worked out that their emotions were being shared between them, not for certain, but they had an inkling at least. Was all of the bubbly affection really theirs? The thought that some of that fizzing happiness could be from Chante was a warming one, even without certainty.

“They sound like they'd be fun! Do you think you could teach me how to do that? It sounds as though a lot of those things are also friend things, and I'm not sure where the difference is.” Their smile and their tone were utterly without guile, but the twinkle remained. They weren't simply asking to satisfy their curiosity – they wanted to learn how to date this delightful person they already felt close to. Did that count as flirting? Perhaps.

What did that amusement mean? Was something they'd said funny? Chante's laughter wasn't mocking, though, and it sounded quite pleasant. “Oooh, I see! Maybe those people only ever had pizza rolls on a date or something? ...Or they're teasing, I guess... That's not very nice, but your friend sounds nice, sharing pizza rolls like that!” Of course, they doubted that someone friends with Chante wouldn't be nice, but that was by the by. “What other kinds of date are there?”

A package? She didn’t order anything, but had no complaints given she was familiar with the present style wrapping. Chante closed the door and went inside her apartment home to open the present she assumed Marion planted: a plushie of Marion’s likeness. How adorable!

“Aawww aren’t you cute as a button?” Chante cooed while holding the plush in her hands gently, then hugging it like a child would. “Marion, you big sweetheart! I got to thank them soon for this.”

She wasn’t fully aware they were actually possessing the doll and listening to her…

That chuckle sounded so light, so free and at ease – it felt good to know that they could draw such a reaction from her so readily, to know that they made her so happy. They leaned into the caressing of their soft cheek, trilling their own delight for her to hear. So often, they had to be quiet, whether because it was outside their programmed role to be so vocal or because the hunt was on – so being able to express themself like this felt freeing.

“Alone? You? Not while I'm around!” They declared, their own beaming smile reflecting hers. It seemed so strange to them, the idea that someone as nice and as friendly as Chante would be alone – she was so soul-warming to be around! Ah, but if she was, wasn't that all the more reason to try to spend as much time with her as possible? For both of their happiness!

A gasp escaped at her words, their eyes somehow starry, and they clapped their hands to their mouth. “Eeeeeeee! Oh – oh – oh! Can we really? Please? Oh yes please! I've wanted to see a real park for ages!” Their giddy excitement had them almost vibrating, smile as wide as it would go.

The shock running through Chante drew a warble of apology from Marion, who wondered whether they should have added a little note to the ribbon or something. Thankfully, though, that shock was fleeting, and Chante seemed pleased to see them.

They beamed up at her as she carried them onto a couch, chirping up at her as they realised she'd calmed. They dimly recalled seeing some sort of furniture thing like the one she sat upon at some point during their human half's life, but it was hazy.  “I diid~!” They enthused, nodding, with a delighted trill and a happy wiggle at that peck on the top of their head.

Sure, they'd technically skipped work, but considering they weren't exactly paid for it, nor were they allowed out at all, they thought they deserved to be able to take advantage of this loophole to spend time with someone important to them. “Don't worry, Goldie promised he'd keep an eye out for me. Aah, and I'm so happy to be here with you!”

Marion'd arranged this with Jeremy, who was actually able to leave the establishment, though the guard had no idea what was in the box, or why it was being delivered. When the plush was cuddled, it trilled happily, beaming and attempting to snuggle back. “Awww, you like it? Yeee~ Guess who!” They cooed out, their voice unmistakeable. “I figured out how to possess a plush while my body goes on automatic! Now I get to hug you even more!”

A pleasant surprise? They trilled softly to her, their lips quirked in a warm smile as their hands were taken into Chante's. “I can agree with that – it wasn't expected, but it's so nice~” They squeezed her hands gently, not quite certain how to put into words what was going through their head – but at least there was nobody in sight to interrupt, whether a human seeking a prize or a fellow animatronic intending to tease.

Her goofy smile broadened their own, and they leaned in to nuzzle one of their warming cheeks to one of hers. Then, as she spoke, they met her gaze, eyelights softening as they considered her words. There was feeling along with those words, feeling they began to realise wasn't entirely their own, though it mirrored it closely. It kind of reminded them of the bond between their halves, before they were whole – optimistically, they tried to send a wave of their own warm mix of emotion towards her, while nodding. “I think I can feel it.”
