“clark...?” clint scratches his head. “sorry, i’m not up on who’s who nowadays. not that i, uh, ever was.” he lifts his shoulders in a gentle shrug. “but, uh, you never know... people are randomly showing up here all the time. so, maybe he’ll come along. who knows?” he shrugs again, taking a sip out of his thermos. “fate is a tricky thing sometimes...”

Having only been recently transported to the x-mansion, her heart lurched at the heartache that everyone seemed to be experiencing. She didn’t truly know many of the occupants of the mansion, though her maternal instincts ones she didn’t know she had kicked in, which had her in the kitchen at two in the morning, placing the last batch of cookies that she had stressed-baked in the over, running her hands over her face, exhausted, though a bout of survivals guilt caused her to be up. She heard a clatter behind her, jumping up in surprise, turning around in mild alarm, her first thought was hoping that the clatter had not awoken any of the other residents of the mansion. 

“Couldn’t sleep?”

“oh yeah, i never do sleep, if i’m being honest,” clint replied, pouring himself his... fifth? cup of coffee. he didn’t know; he’d lost count. he always did. lucky was curled up at his feet and let out a soft sigh. he leaned down to scratch his dog’s ears. he often forgot just how hard the transition had been for both of them; though lucky was adjusting far easier than clint was, if he was being really honest with himself. pizza dog always bounces back, y’know? “what about you?” he asked, turning to iris. he didn’t know the reporter all that well, just that she was... well, a reporter and seemed to be incredibly kind-hearted. “what’re y’doing up?”
