Breaking Delusions

Life has a funny way of making you want to crawl back into a hole, reverting to a point of before. That wasn't something possible though, once things happen, they happen. You can't change what comes of it, no matter how out of control everything is. The only things you can do are push to grow from it.

That is of course, if you weren't pushed to your limits.

You can't always grow, and sometimes, it really drags you back- puts you in a place that is only pain and suffering. That's where I find myself, memories made worse, things put behind crawling back to the surface, and me? I am going backwards, all the time I spent to keep myself from breaking, being chipped away. Those walls coming down.

I feel helpless.

I've done things I shouldn't be proud of, but at this point, why should I care? The world is cruel, and why should I put effort into making it better? A dream that isn't mine, wasn't mine, a self deluded expedition into redeeming the memory of someone who saw what I couldn't- of someone who find a way out regardless of how it effected me.

This is the end of my trying to be something I am not. The end of putting up with hollow promises. Consequences mean nothing, and I will not be appologetic.

So maybe I was wrong, maybe it's just not that we grow in the direction we hoped, perhaps I am simply growing to embrace the truth, my truths. My world. In all the darkness, all the dispair, perhaps this is where I belong.

Pain. Suffering. These are my rules now this is the reality that I wrought.

Kazo was beyond content with his current life, sharing an apartment with Rihn and Takkhi, studying conjury and pugilism, and generally feeling relaxed and happy. There had been no pressure as of late to step up his role in Chimera and his family had toned down the crazy for the moment.

There was the amusing fact that Takkhi had lost their truth or dare game a few days before, forcing the white-haired Keeper to burst in on most of his family and yell a lie about them having sex. He wasn’t sure she had forgiven him yet for how hard he had laughed.

Annoyed or not, she still let him lounge against her, both young miqo’te toying with the other’s hair. The casual affection was something that came so naturally now and Kazo smiled up at Takkhi, trying to memorize every detail of her pretty face so he could remember this moment forever. That special smile of hers, just for him, made Kazo want to kiss her. She was simply perfect.

There was something in the way that even if she was mad at him he made her aflutter. Heart pounding, rosy cheeked, and just happy, even in the silence that came as they often lounged together. His deep blues always calmed her, always made her feel safe. It was no wonder she couldn’t help but give him that shy smile.
