I make no promises, Talen. She smiled with the way his name rolled off of her tongue in her Spanish accent. It was something she had once despised, but now cherished more than anything. Sí, en cualquier lugar. Aywhere. Tilting her head, Danika looked up at him expectantly, waiting for an answer. Sky diving, huh? A bit cliche, no? Though I have never done it before. When he asked the question back to her, she paused before giving him a shrug. It wouldn’t have mattered.

Oh come on, there's no fun in that." He teased with a small grin, his eyebrows raising slightly at the accent he was picking up now. I have no idea what you just said. Except for Si means yes and en is in. My years of Spanish wore off when I didn't use it daily. Anywhere. I've always wanted to go to Australia. He admitted with a shrug, looking at her before nodding. It's cliche, but it's something I've always wanted to do. I mean, there is the risk of dying but that's part of the thrill. That or hang gliding, that would be fun. He tilted his head slightly. It would matter though, even if everything out in the real world is shitty. I think it matters.

Oh, really? I think that everyone does, though. Some more than others, she said, eying him warily. Danika was still not adjusted to people being so talkative; friendly even. And where would you go if you could get out? Danika perked up suddenly. I mean hypothetically. Where’s the first place you would go or something you would do that you never got the chance to before?

[talenandrews]

Really, so don't be so surprised when I have them anymore.  That's true, some people don't have as many of them. He chuckled softly and ran a hand through his hair, his eyes raising. Where? You mean anywhere? He questioned, his eyebrows raising now. I'd want to go sky diving, something crazy like that. Something I would have never thought of doing before. Go to another country. Live like I was dying. As cheesy as that may be. What about you?

I can imagine. I hope your parents don’t worry too much, mate. It would suck if they did, right? Death has loads of precautions especially assumed death. Yeah, I feel real sorry for the ones who got bad owners.

It's a good thing we don't have to live with it, right? I hope not either, that's the only thing I truly hate about here. I mean, I got it lucky. I got claimed soon and a nice owner. So I haven't had the worst experience.  But that's what I hate, not knowing how people are taking it. It does, you're right. Oh, I do too. I'm thankful I got a kind owner.

Yeah. I would freak out like hell if she went missing. She’s my best friend. I’m glad she’s safe. She got a decent owner too, which is good.

I can imagine how scary that would be. It's why I worry about my parents. I would hope they'd assume I'm dead so they don't have to worry all the time. But assuming your kid is dead can't be easy either. That is really good. Quite a few of us have good owners.

Smart choice on your part. She only dipped her head in response, thanking him for not pressing the way others tended to when they were curious. My past is best left there. And yes, I would say that answer in perfectly acceptable. It’s only been about a month or two for me. I don’t really see the point in keeping track.

[talenandrews]

I have my moments. Sometimes few, sometimes many. He smiled and nodded his head slightly. He was curious of course, but he didn't want to push. He didn't want to lose a potential friend, again. Sometimes that's the best place for it. Then too long. I couldn't tell you how long it's been. It feels like it's been years but I know it's only been months. I don't either, it's not like I'm going to get out.

Yeah me too. I guess. I wish she wasn’t, but I’m glad she doesn’t have to danger herself looking.

That's true. And you can take care of her, to some extent at least. That must make it a little easier being here with her. You know she's alive and all of that.

Yeah I get that. If I hadn’t of come here, I would’ve been looking for my sister until I found her too. Luckily she’s here with me.

[talenandrews]

I would have been looking for anybody for as long as I could. Until I found them or heard of something. Your sister is here? I guess that's lucky, kind of.

Honestly? Most people assume that their families think they died.

I just hope they're not looking for me still, you know? Wasting their time and all of that.

I always wonder what my friends and family think happened to me..

Right. Same here. She grinned at him before catching herself and wiping it off quickly. I thank you for that. So, have you been here very long?

[talenandrews]

I would stay away from them. He chuckled softly and raised his eyebrows slightly when her grin disappeared. You're welcome. I can respect not wanting to talk about things. Too long. Is that a valid answer?

[danika-rosen]

Yeah, I guess not. I don’t think anyone would plan on being here. She gave a short laugh before shaking her head. Trust me. You don’t want to go there, and neither do I.

[talenandrews]

I would like to hope that nobody planned on being here. If they did, and were human. I'd be a little worried. He smiled and nodded his head slightly. That's understandable. I won't press it.

[danika-rosen]

Ah. I never made it to college. I had planned to, but I guess that just wasn’t the way it was meant to happen. Danika gave him a shrug. I’ve heard worse.

[talenandrews]

Well, they do say it's not for everybody. I mean, I didn't plan on being here. I actually planned on going back, but apparently life had other plans. Talen nodded slightly. I'm glad it's not the worst then. What about you, what's your story?

[danika-rosen]

I never partied, really. Sounds like I’m the boring one, si? She just listened intently, lifting a brow at him. Suddenly, she busted out into a little fit of laughter when he finished. No, no. Not that bad. Mmm, well… kinda bad.

[talenandrews]

Once I got to college, the need to party just hit me. I don't know if it was because my school was a party school or what. But I was just tired of everything being planned. He raised his eyebrows then laughed, shaking his head. Very bad. It's a boring story. One that could put you to sleep.

[danika-rosen]

Oh, come on. It can’t be that bad, she teased, a smirk rolling onto her face easily. You had to wind up here somehow.

[talenandrews]

I guess me winding up here is because of all the partying. I really don't know why I was one they wanted here. I went from being in a routine that my parents set up to partying like it was all I knew how to do. I though I was in jail when I got here, figured I'd gotten drunk and did something stupid that I didn't remember. He shrugged. Bad, right? He chuckled.

You Can't Always Forget || Self - Para

Talen liked to think that there were no times that haunted him. That he'd never been humiliated beyond belief. He pushed the thoughts away so much and so far that he rarely ever recalled the instance that had humiliated him beyond belief. It was something that wasn't really talked about after a while. His father had moved on from it just as he had. Talen had always had it easy when it came to finding a girl that he liked, and she liked him. He had been quite the ladies man in high school, though most people knew he was bisexual though no guys seemed to ever interest him. At least not until his senior year. There were a few guys who were open about their sexuality but there was one, who quickly became one of Talen's friends. He had a group that he usually hung out with and nobody seemed to care about sexuality. People were more accepting, that and Talen didn't go hitting on anything with legs, which he knew was a big part of why it didn't bother them. 

After one of the football games they headed back to Talen's house, his parents hadn't come back home from their date night, apparently. He enjoyed seeing his parents happy. And if they weren't home it meant they weren't planning something for him, which was a perk. He hated that they had everything planned out for him, it was stressful at times, even if he acted as though it wasn't. He and Dean had been playing xbox, talking about how the game had went, the mistakes they'd made even if they won. One thing ended up leading to another and before he knew it they were both naked and in bed. It wasn't soon before Talen was on his knees, giving the other guy a blow job when he heard the door open, his dad's eyes wide. He stood up quickly, pulling anything to cover himself and the other man behind him. Since that moment, Talen and his father grew distant. he couldn't ever look his father in the eye. Up until he was taken to Monroe Falls, Talen couldn't look at his father for more than a few seconds, though they both got past it, it was one of the things that had come from the situation.

Hmph. She smirked back at him a little, folding her arms over her chest and lifting her chin. So, Talen. That’s an interesting name. What’s your story?

[talenandrews]

He grinned when she crossed her arms over her chest, his own hands sliding into his pockets. It's different, that's for sure. My story..you sure you want to end up dying from boredom?
