Drive Safely

The clanking of your combat boots against the cement steps echo through the barren hallway. The lights flicker slightly and you can hear a fly buzz around the fluorescent lights that are just slightly too yellow for your taste.

“You sure you had fun?” Youngbae asks, keeping up with you.

You smile because you know that he was just making sure that you were happy the whole night. Who could complain when your boyfriend cooks you dinner, does the dishes, puts on your favorite movie, AND rubs your feet while you watch. Safe to say, you were definitely one happy camper.

“Of course I did, Youngbae. Was there a reason why I shouldn’t?”

He shrugs his shoulders and you can hear his ring glide along the medal railing.

“Just checking is all.”

You tug open the metal door and are greeted with the darkness and glittering sidewalks. The rain comes down and soaks everything that comes into its path. Immediately Youngbae throws his jacket over both of your heads so you can get to your car without getting wet.

He keeps the jacket raised above you as you dig to find your keys that somehow buried themselves in the bottom of your purse. Once you are able to fish them out, you unlock your door and quickly climb in. You leave the door open and Youngbae leans in to give you a kiss.

“Please drive safely,” he says.

You give him a smile. “I know and I will.”

Youngbae gives you a look as if he doesn’t believe you because you have a tendency to drive just a little too fast.

“___________-ah, I mean it.”

“I will,” you say giving him one last kiss.

“Text me when you get home!” he calls out as he backs away.

“I will!”

You shut your door and carefully drive off, watching Youngbae through your rear view mirror wave goodbye.

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well and that the fall is treating you well.

I would like to apologize for the lack of stories/updates. I’ve been really busy lately and going through a lot of personal issues so keeping this blog up to date has been very, very difficult.

Just want to remind anyone that if you are interested in writing for this blog, I’m looking for more admins to keep it going.

When you heard the doorbell ring you immediately let out a long and low groan. You had just gotten yourself all comfy on the couch ready to watch a movie since all of your plans fell through. Nights have been feeling a bit lonely and this was no exception.

You pushed yourself off of the couch and grunted when the doorbell rang again.

“Yah! I’m coming!” you call out, shuffling over to the door way.

When you open the door, Daesung doesn’t even allow you to invite him in—he just walks past you, holding the bouquet of flowers in his hands as if they weren’t even there.

“I knew I smelled popcorn!” he shouts as he kicks off his shoes.

“Oppa, what are you doing here?” you ask him, closing the door and figuring that he would be over for a little bit.

He looks around the room as if something is strangely different than the last time he was here (which was forever ago). He then looks over at you and holds out the flowers to you. He tries to hide a smile but he’s failing pretty bad in your opinion. A smile so bright as his can’t hide that easily.

“I just wanted to bring these pretty flowers to my pretty girlfriend. Is that a crime?”

You smile and take the flowers into your hands. They definitely brighten up the room and make it much more comforting. You wonder if that’s what he was thinking.

“It’s not a crime, but I’m just confused. What’s the reason for this?”

He shrugs his shoulders and grabs your hand.

“No reason. Just wanted to remind you that I love you a lot and think about you often.”

You brush a chunk of hair behind your ear and point over to the couch.

“Did you want to watch a movie with me? I haven’t started yet and it’s supposed to be really funny.”

“Sure,” he responds, leaning down and kissing you on the forehead. “You know I can always go for a good comedy.”

And all of a sudden, your lonely night in wasn’t so lonely anymore.

Hangover

Based off the prompt: “Here, drink this. You’ll feel better.”

Before you even opened your eyes, you already felt like you were going to throw up again. You threw up about two times last night and you didn’t want to have to go through all of that again. It’s not necessarily fun hanging over a toilet at 3am. Your head was pounding and your throat felt extremely dry—how much did you exactly drink last night?

The door to your room opens and a groggy Jungkook walks in, shaking his already tangled bed hair. He completely skips over sitting on your bed and just wriggles himself next to you. His body curls up against yours and he moans out of exhaustion.

“You know, jagiya, your couch isn’t all that comfortable. Why couldn’t I just sleep next to you like this last night?” he asks into your shoulder.

You love Jungkook with all your heart but his touch was making you feel worse.

“Because I would’ve thrown up on you. No offense, but I don’t really feel all that great right now either,” you moan, immediately turning to your side and covering the pillow over your head to block out the ringing in your ears and the thumping in your head.

You feel Jungkook’s hand begin to gently rub your back. The feeling of his soft fingers brushing against your skin felts very comforting and made you forget about your headache for a little while.

“What hurts?” he asks, still rubbing your back.

“Everything,” you mutter, shutting your eyes tightly as your headache really begins to bother you. “I feel like my head is about to explode and my throat is a bit dry.”

You feel your bed shift and you reach your hand out to grab Jungkook but you’re only met with your bed sheets. You try to stay still because any movement made you feel a bit nauseated. A few minutes later, you felt Jungkook shake your shoulder. You lifted your head and groaned.

He stands there with a bottle of Gatorade and held it out for you. “Here, drink this. You’ll feel better.”

You take a sip and look at him, feeling grateful yet worried.

“What if I throw up again?” you ask, feeling dread that you would again.

He snickers and crawls into your bed again. “At least the taste won’t be so bad then.” You shake your head because he’s right and take another sip. “Have you learned your lesson?” he asks, putting an arm around you.

“What lesson?”

“Not to drink that much in one night again?”

You nod your head because indeed, you didn’t want to experience this every weekend.

“Jungkook, can we just stay in today and not do anything? And maybe get a big lunch when I’m feeling better?”

He kisses you on the forehead and replies, “That sounds like a great idea to me.”

You sigh as you look down at your phone. You’re not sure what to do as you stare at the dialing screen. Every once in a while, you tapped the screen to prevent the screen from going black.

“I’m going to do it,” you say while making no bold movement. Your small puppy looks up at you, tail wagging and keeping patient with you. “You don’t think I’m going to do it, Dubu, but I’m going to prove you wrong,” you tell your dog but also trying to convince yourself that you will.

Dubu still looks up at you, panting but sitting patiently. You make a face at him, thinking how pathetic you probably looked right now. You shake your head and immediately dial the number that you so dreaded dialing. You bring the phone to your ear and close your eyes tightly, hoping for the best.

“Hello?” the voice asks from the other end.

You’re not sure why but you throw the phone onto your bed, obviously feeling jumpy and nervous all at the same time. You immediately grab it and try to make yourself seem as calm as possible and not like the little spaz you know you are.

“Hey, Seungri-oppa, it’s me, ____________,” you respond into the receiver.

“Oh, hi, __________! How are you? Is everything ok?” Seungri asks you.

You bite your bottom lip, thinking about how nice his voice was. “Yeah, everything is fine,” you say. You decided to just jump right into what you wanted to ask him. “Hey, oppa, I was wondering if you wanted to go get coffee sometime this afternoon. That is, if you’re free.”

You cross your fingers and eagerly wait for his response.

“Oh, that’s really nice of you, __________-ah, but you know I just see you like a little sister.”

It was crazy how intuitive Seungri can be sometimes. A long time ago you had asked him out on a date, thinking it to be a funny joke. But the joke was on you when he gave you the exact same response as he did seconds ago: you’re like a little sister to him. Now normally this wouldn’t be a problem, except for the fact that you were practically madly in love with him now and didn’t know what to do about it.

The first thing you did was starting acting more mature around him. You made sure to carry a book with you at all times to make it appear that you were smart and could have an intelligent conversation… except Seungri never took the time to ask you what you were reading. So then you tried to wear more professional wear to work. You were just a simple makeup artist so jeans and comfy shirts were your norm—especially if you were bound to get makeup on them sometime through the night. But Seungri never seemed to notice that you traded in your soft sneakers for some stiff and uncomfortable heels.

Obviously none of your little changes had worked.

“Oh… I know,” you try playing it off to make it seem like asking him out wasn’t your intention. “I just figured that you have been working a lot and that maybe a nice coffee would be a good treat.”

“Ah, thank you, __________-ah, you’re so sweet. But, sadly I can’t. I’m doing some last minute recording with Jiyong-hyung so I’ll have to pass. I’ll see you at the YG party this weekend though!”

You bite your bottom lip and really forced yourself to not get overly emotional. You kept telling yourself that he was just a dumb boy and that your friendship was enough.

“Yeah,” you croak out and watch as Dubu scampers over to you. You rub his gentle fur and instantly feel better. “I’ll see you then. Hope recording goes well.”

You hear him chuckle on the other end and for some reason, that only makes you sadder. “Thank you. I’ll talk to you later!”

“Talk to you later,” you say and hear the phone disconnect.

You look down at Dubu who snuggles himself up against your leg. You continue to rub his fur and release a soft sigh into the air. That was definitely not how you expected the conversation to go.

“Oh Dubu, that was pretty bad,” you say, feeling yourself slightly choke up a bit.

You think about how stuck you felt. How you were probably never going to escape out of the friend zone. You figure you should just give it up and accept that Seungri will never see you in the way that you see him. Looking down at Dubu you think about the YG party this weekend and how nicely everyone would be dressing—how handsome Seungri would be looking.

You decided that this was not your last shot. You have one more chance to try.

You get yourself up from the carpet and you walk over to your closet. You open it and take a quick look at all the dresses you owned. There was a pretty green one but you’ve worn it so many times that if you wore it one more time, you might as well puke. There was also a pretty yellow sunflower dress but that was more for a nice summer picnic; not a formal evening with your boss and other coworkers. You flip through each one, finding some reason as not to wear it.

That is, until you got to the last one in the closet.

“Dubu… I think I found what I’m wearing to the party,” you say, eyeing it one last time and concluding that it was perfect.

 It was crazy how fast the weekend came. You check yourself in the rearview mirror once more; making sure your makeup was perfect. Even though applying makeup was your job, for some reason, you always found it to be a little bit harder to do it on yourself.

You sigh as you realize that this was the best it was going to get. You really wish that Dubu was there with you right now—he somehow gave you more confidence when you were with him.

You carefully get out of your car and walk to the venue. The whole sidewalk leading up to the patio of the mansion was lined with beautifully cut shrubs and Christmas lights that twinkled perfectly in the darkness. Your heels click against the brick underneath you and you focus your thoughts on just how great you looked.

You open the gate that leads to the patio and you immediately run into Jiyong who seems to be stepping out for a moment for a smoke break.

“Oh _________! You look amazing! Red suits you very well!” he says with a huge smile on his face with his cigarette hanging in between his teeth.

“Thank you, oppa. Have you seen Seungri-oppa anywhere?”

Jiyong lights up his cigarette and takes it away from his mouth. “He’s on the upper patio having a drink with Youngbae.”

“Thanks, I’ll see you later, okay?”

Jiyong nods his head and you make your way through the yard. You see the lower patio and see a bunch of idols and writers having cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. To your left, there is a nice marble staircase which you can only assume leads to the upper patio. You make your way up there and notice a pair of huge glass doors that lead to the inside of the mansion. Inside the house, you see a string quintet playing a lovely classical arrangement.

You notice that the entire patio is filled with people eating and drinking and conversing. You look around for Seungri but don’t seem to see him anywhere. You walk over to the drink table and take a glass of champagne. You slowly walk around, admiring how nice everyone looked for this occasion. It was fun to see everyone all dressed up. You hear a very distinct laugh and turn around.

Across the sea of people, you see Seungri and the mop of bright blond hair. You take a deep breath and a quick chug of champagne before deciding to walk over to him. In your head, you rehearse what you would exactly say to him.

Hey, Seungri-oppa… fancy seeing you here tonight. You look so very handsome tonight. Would you like to get some drinks? Or even dance? You know, we should really meet up for coffee sometime. I think we would have fun.

But when you walk up to him, he immediately looks right at you. His face was blank like you sucked out all emotion from him. You become worried but then you carefully watch as the corner of his mouth twitches up into a smile.

“Wow… ________-ah… you look amazing!” he says, still staring at you.

Youngbae whips his head around to see you and even does a double take.

“You look so pretty tonight!” Youngbae says loudly.

You know that Youngbae sometimes just blurts out whatever he’s thinking or feeling but it’s surprising to you that Seungri isn’t as vocal as you expected him to be. Instead, you think that he’s more paralyzed from shock (at least, that’s what you like to think).

“Thank you,” you say, hiding your blushing. You take a quick deep breath before taking a chance. “Seungri-oppa, do you want to go get a drink with me?” you ask.

He glances down at his nearly empty glass and gives you a big smile before setting it down on the table.

“Yeah, sure,” he responds coming up next to you. “Is there anything you want in particular?”

“I had a glass of champagne earlier, but I’m thinking a cup of coffee with a shot of whiskey. What do you think?”

Easily, Seungri slips his hand into yours. “That sounds absolutely delicious.”

Without a care, Seungri brings you both into YG’s stunning kitchen. Everything was so clean and pristine that you were afraid that a single fingerprint would just trash the whole place. Seungri brings you over to the coffee machine and plays around with it until he is able to get it on to brew.

He leans against one of the counter tops and crosses his arms. He just stares at you with a look of wonder and awe on his face.

“What?” you ask, letting out a chuckle. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Though of course you knew that you were looking hot in this red dress of yours.

“Well, I just never have seen you look this pretty before. I mean, you’ve always been pretty but you’re just exceptionally prettier tonight.”

“Is it the dress?” you playfully ask.

He chuckles and comes closer to you. “I think the dress is just an added feature.”

He brushes some stray hairs behind your ear and slowly takes his lips into yours. It was the kind of kiss that you had always hoped for. A kiss like this surely meant that Seungri didn’t see you as a little sister anymore.

“Jaigya, we’re going to be late if you don’t hurry up,” Kiseop calls from the other side of the bathroom door.

You take a look at yourself in the mirror again and still feel unsure about whether or not your make up was as good as you had hoped it would be. Your eyelashes could use just a little bit more mascara but you know that Kiseop would be very upset if you even spent another 5 minutes in there.

“I’ll be out in one second!” you say, grabbing the mascara and figuring that you could use it during the car ride to the gala.

You carefully look at your dress and check it from all angles to make sure that you looks good. U-Kiss and other K-Pop groups were going to be awarded tonight at this big gala at the Seoul Arts Center. It was a very formal event so you had to make sure that you were picture-perfect.

You hear another knock at the door and roll your eyes, knowing that Kiseop was surely not going to wait another minute. You open the door and find Kiseop standing there in his nice black tux. When he sees you exit the bathroom you notice that his eyes grow wider and his mouth slightly drops before turning into a huge grin.

“Wow,” he whispers just loud enough for you to hear.

“What? Do I have lipstick on my teeth?” you ask before frantically rubbing your two front teeth with your index finger.

“No,” he immediately stops you. “No, you look… perfect.”

“Really?” you ask, cocking your head to the side. “You really think so?”

You notice that Kiseop begins to blush and you see that he’s acting a little flustered. Was he really just acting like this because of you?

“Yeah. Your hair is beautiful and purple really is your color.”

You smile and look down at the nice gown you have on. “Thanks,” you say and grab your clutch which was sitting on the bathroom counter.

“Well, we should get going so I can show the whole concert hall that I have the prettiest girlfriend in the whole world.”

You slightly shove him before following him out to the car.

Description: When he gives you a small gift before he leaves on tour.

The air was cold but being wrapped up in Jiyong’s embrace kept you warm and comfortable. You both sit on the rooftop of his house and watch the sunset. He sits behind you and keeps his arms wrapped around your body while his legs rest comfortably on either side of you.

You feel his nose nuzzle itself into the crook of your neck.

“Sure is beautiful, isn’t it?” he purrs into your ear.

“Yeah, it’s the prettiest one I’ve seen in a while,” you respond.

He lets out a chuckle and places a kiss on your neck. “I meant you.”

You try to hide your blushing and turn your attention back to the sunset.

You try not to think about tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, Jiyong will leave for another Asia tour, not returning home for three months. You were used to him going on tour and working long hours, but it didn’t make things easy; it was still just as hard every time.

“What’s on your mind, jagiya?” he asks, brushing some hair away from your face.

“Nothing. It’s nothing,” you respond. You don’t like telling him that you’re bummed that he’s leaving because you don’t like making him feel sadness or regret.

“You’re an awful liar.”

You snap around and look at his face. “No I’m not!” you argue.

His eyebrows go up like he has caught you red-handed. His mouth then opens into the widest smile you’ve ever seen. He wraps his arms around you even tighter and starts to rock you back and forth.

“You didn’t admit that you didn’t lie~” he sings.

You sigh in defeat because he was right in some odd way.

“Alright, so I didn’t, but that doesn’t mean that something is wrong,” you point out to him so he would get out of his little victory dance.

Just as you wanted, he stops swaying you but keeps a smirk on his face.

“Nothing may be wrong, but I know something is bothering you. Please tell me,” he says, running his fingers through your hair.

You face the sunset again and wish that you could have this moment on repeat forever because everything is absolutely perfect—the colors in the sky, the way Jiyong smells, the feeling of his fingers in your soft hair—everything.

“I just wish you weren’t going on tour. Just not yet. I want more nights like this but I know that’s not possible,” you say lowly.

“It’s not impossible,” he points out. “When I get back, we can have nights like this every night if you wanted to.”

“Yeah, I would like that,” you murmur and put your head down, knowing that it would be a long time before these nights come again.

You feel him take his arms away from you and you hear something tap and rustle. “Here,” he says sticking his hand out. In the palm of his hand is this black beaded bracelet that he always wears. “I want you to have this.”

“Jiyong, I can’t take your favorite bracelet.”

He kisses the top of your forehead and ignores your comment. “Well, if you won’t take it, then borrow it. Besides, it’ll look much better on you. You practically bring our team average up!”

At this you playfully smack his arm and return to watching the sunset when everything seemed perfect.

Stay With Me (Requested)

They say that right before you die, your life flashes before your eyes. You never believed it, but when your body came into contact with the car that blasted through a red light, you saw images of your past play through your mind like a movie reel. Though the actual bright flash just could be the headlights that blinded your face.

You first saw yourself as a kid, playing in a tiny swimming pool in your backyard. Your parents couldn't afford much but they worked with that they had. Summers at home were simple and the best. You then saw yourself hugging your friends from high school on graduation day. Tears in your eyes as you realized that this may be the last days you remain close with them before you move onto the next chapter in your life. Then you saw Yoongi. The way he holds your face and grasps onto your hand. The unsteadiness of his breath...

You look up and see him panting over you. You try to call out his name but it hurts to breathe—like your lungs have completely collapsed. Immediately you feel like your body is on fire and everything feels intense. All at the same time while feeling pain and aching, you also feel scared.

The last thing you can remember is that you were running away from Yoongi. You just got in an argument outside a restaurant where you just had dinner. After finding that you couldn’t get to him, you decided to run. You were trying to get away from him so you could clear you head. 

"____________," he says, tears in his eyes and holding your face with his shaking hand. He looks just as scared as how you feel. "Please be okay!" You try to speak again but all that emits from your mouth is a shaky breath. "Oh my god, there's a lot of blood. I'll drive you to the hospital."

"No!" You mutter, regretting that breath and feeling exhausted on top of your pain. "Call an ambulance."

You know that Yoongi always tries to be the hero but at his point, you need someone who can actually save you.

“____________, I’m so, so sorry. I’m so sorry. You’re going to be okay! You are, so just stay with me. Oh my god, just stay with me.”

Yoongi rambles but all you could focus your mind on is the street light over you. How it shines so bright and while there’s chaos down below with you, everything in the night sky looks so peaceful.

“Yes, I would like to report an accident…”

Romantic Subplot

Description: Going on a late night walk

You swing one foot in front of the other, being careful not to lose your balance.

“Watch your step,” Kangin says, lifting his hand up to you.

You gently take it and brush your falling hair away from your face with your other hand. You walked along a ledge while Kangin walked safely on the sidewalk next to you.

“So do you really think that movie was a 4 out of 7?” you ask him, now holding the other arm out for balance.

You had just seen a movie with him and thought it was good. But Kangin always seemed to be a little more critical of movies. So much so, that he created his own rating method for movies. He insists that rating things out of 7 were practical because a top of 5 was too little and a top of 10 was too much; 7 was just right.

Kangin shrugs his shoulders before looking up at you and replying, “You really want to hear the reasons?” You nod your head and he tells you, “Well, the movie plot lacked a lot of character development and I don’t think the villain was that good. Also, what was the deal with the peacock at the end? Ridiculous!”

You just laugh and him and then stop so you could look down at him. Very rarely do you have the chance to just look at Kangin. Not the Kangin who is the singer of Super Junior but the Kangin who while hilarious most of the time, actually has a big heart.

“You do make some good points, but I would at least give it a 4.5 for the good romance subplot.”

Kangin sighs and you know that he loathes romantic subplots.

“I’ll consider it,” he says before placing his hands on your waist and lifting you up in the air before bringing you to the ground. He gives you a sweet kiss before asking, “Do you think our relationship would be a good subplot?”

You fix his beanie so it looks better and simply say, “Without a doubt.”

(2/2) My first few one shots will be about the Weasley twins from Harry Potter, my interest for them has been rekindled recently and so a perfect way to express the support is through writing. Never Going To Be First

Based off the prompt: “You know when your phone buzzes, it means I’m trying to talk to you, right?”

You kept your knees pulled into your chest as your phone rang for the fifth time today. You blankly stared at it, not even caring as Hoseok’s picture flashed across the screen again. This same process was in a loop. He would call you, then leave a voicemail, and then leave you alone for ten minutes before restarting the process.

           You know that you can be stubborn or even a bit spiteful, but how else were you supposed to act when your own boyfriend says you should spend less time together? You hardly see him enough as it is—twice a week if you’re truly lucky. With all his work taking up his time, finding time to spend with each other face to face is rare.

           Yeah, FaceTime dates are great and all, but you really love and value being next to him. You appreciate the way he holds your hand or brushes a fallen eyelash off your cheek. So now that he wants to cut those moments even shorter just felt like a stab in your heart.

Naturally, you ask yourself if it’s all because of something you had done. Did you do something to annoy him? Or even worse, has he found someone better and more worth his time? Your mind is filled with these thoughts as tears streamed down your face. You hate feeling this way but your heart is absolutely aching.

You hear your doorbell ring and you wipe your tears with the sleeves of your hoodie. You weren’t expecting any visitors so it’s a bit suspicious that someone would be here to see you.

You look through the peephole and see that Hoseok is standing there with his hands stuffed in his pockets.

Hoseok rings the doorbell again but you don’t do anything. You’re so mad at him that all you want to do is leave him out there and not do anything with him. You watch as he rings the doorbell a third time and even knocks on the door.

“_____________-ah, I know you’re in there!” he calls out but you stay silent.

You just watch him. He lifts off his snapback to push back his hair; you even carefully observe him as he takes in a deep breath, looking impatient and worried.

“Yah! Open the door!” he demands, knocking a few more times. You just rest your head against the cold wood, really trying to not let yourself lose it again. “Nothing is going to get solved if we don’t talk about it. I know you’re mad at me, but if you want this relationship to work out, then you need to open the door!”

You take in a deep breath because you know he is right and you hate it. You slowly open the door and glare at him. He doesn’t seem fazed from your conversation or how hurt you feel and look.

“You know when your phone buzzes, it means I’m trying to talk to you, right?” he says and all you can do is shake your head.

“I don’t want you here, Hoseok,” you say, about to close the door in his face.

His hand catches the edge of the door and he forces it open. He steps in and doesn’t even bother to take off his shoes.

“I don’t even care. We need to talk whether you want to or not—”

“How can we even talk when you don’t want me around!” you cut him off.

His face drops and he seems taken aback. “You think I don’t want you around?”

“Why else would you say we need to spend less time together! You know, if you want to see less of me, why don’t you just break up with me!” you yell.

You’re about to turn away from him but he catches your wrist and grips on tightly, not letting you leave from him for one second.

“Because I don’t want to break up with you. Listen, jagiya, you know I love you with all of my heart, but I need to focus on my career some more.”

You keep your back turned and the tears begin to fall again. Each one hot against your skin.

“You always put your career first,” you argue. “I’m never going to be first.”

He sighs and pulls you closer to him. He takes a hold of your face and holds it steady. You can’t help but sob as he rests his head against yours.

“Shhh. Please stop crying,” he whispers but this only makes you cry harder. “Jagiya, I’m sorry but I can’t put you first; I can’t until I put a ring on that finger. But right now, I need to put my career first. BTS is starting to really see a considerable amount of success like I always dreamed of. You want me to live my dreams, right?” you nod your head but still cry because once you’ve started you can’t stop. “Then please understand. It’s not that I want to see you less but I need to be selfish and put some of my things before you. Only for a short time. Can you please do that for me?”

You take a deep breath and mutter a messy “yeah.”

“Thank you,” he whispers giving you kiss on the forehead.

Although you know this is what he wants to hear, you’re not so sure if you’ll be able to keep that promise.

I Made Your Favorite

Description: When he surprises you with your favorite dessert

“I swear to god, Jonghyun. If you make me run into a wall I’m going to kill you—”

You hear the snicker behind you followed with, “I’m not going to do that. I went through a lot of work for this so I don’t want you to end up being in a hospital or mad at me. I got you.”

You smile and feel uneasy. You keep your arms out in front of you to stop you from running into a wall just in case Jonghyun gets distracted. You trusted Jonghyun but you also know that he isn’t always so smooth.

“Keep going, we’re not there yet,” you hear him say close to your ear.

“How much farther? I’m not walking a mile like this, am I?” you ask, wondering how much farther to go.

“We haven’t even left the dorm!”

Jonghyun had told you that he wanted to set up something special for you at his dorm. When you arrived, he asked you to wait in the lobby because he really wanted to make sure this surprise didn’t get any spoilers. That’s when he told you to close your eyes. Of course, he didn’t trust you so he put his own hands over your eyes.

As you shuffled through the hallway, a sweet aroma was getting stronger. Something about it was familiar and heartwarming all at the same time. You felt Jonghyun release one hand from your eyes. You could hear the scraping of metal and a door creak open.

“Okay,” he whispers, pushing you forward a little. You could hear him kicking off his shoes and you do the same, hoping that you don’t trip over them. “We’re in the apartment now. Just take eight steps straight forward.”

You chuckle and begin counting out loud for him.

“One… two… three… four… five… six… seven…eight.”

Just as you say the last number, Jonghyun slides his hand down. It takes you a small moment to adjust your eyes to the light though you find that the room is dimly lit with candles. You notice a table set for two with what looks like to be your favorite dessert sitting on two pearl white plates.

“Jonghyun, what is this?” you ask, turning towards him.

You don’t see Jonghyun get bashful often, but when he does, he looks like he can’t even handle his feelings. His tongue licks his bottom lip and he has a huge smile plastered on his face while not even able to look at you. He looks like a middle school boy who has been stuck in the same room with his crush.

“Well, I… I made your favorite,” he says smiling and taking a hold of your hand.

He pulls you over to a pulled out chair for you. You take a seat and admire the sweet dessert and how perfect it looks. The table is set beautifully with a white linen table cloth and a small vase of roses in the center.

He takes a seat across from you and has a proud smile on his face. “Are you going to even eat it?”

You snicker and shake your head. You get yourself a small bite and feel immediately satisfied. You were so incredibly impressed with how well he had done.

“Where did you learn to make this?!” you ask, taking more bites.

He lets out a small chuckle and takes a sip of water after replying, “I emailed your mom for the recipe.”

You shake your head in disbelief again and take a minute to admire this sweet act.

“Thank you for this. You always seem to impress me.”

He raises an eyebrow and has a smug smile on his face. “I do what I can.”

Drabble Posts

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing okay as school wraps up!

I just wanted to let you all know that there’s a chance that my future posts are going to contain a lot more drabbles than scenarios/one shots.

I currently have a full time job and a new boyfriend so finding time to just sit down and write is a little scarce. I will try my best though to keep this blog from going on a hiatus.

On another note, related to that, I am in debate of finding another admin so more scenarios with more groups can be posted. I haven’t fully decided as I am okay admitting that I’m selfish and this blog is like my baby. I’ll be thinking about it though.
